Key fob go to Harry's Key Service on 117th. Specifically the 117th location does vehicle fobs, others do not. They've got high tech machines that copy the key part flawlessly. They have several very kind and informative employees. It turns out, the key copying is only part of the trick for the key fobs, as (at least my) cars have a radio sensor on the ignition that checks if the fob part is approved (programmed). If the key part matches for my car, it'll turn radio on but won't kick ignition over unless the fob part is programmed. In my car's case this was a set of steps such as insert old key, turn on for some seconds, turn off, insert new key, turn on off several times, then it programs it in the car. The people at Henry's explained all of this to me made it very clear that I am welcome to Google and try and do the fob programming myself to save money, or they can try it, or they can order a fob that's more reliable than the flimsy Amazon fob, and if none of those work it'll take an actual dealership unfortunately to get the thing to program. And, they have TONS of key designs to get inexpensive copies of your house keys! read more

I hired this company to put a new lock on the door at my business (cost $312.31). Afterward, three months and 8 days, the lock did not stay locked and would unlock after a few tugs on the door. I called and asked if they can fix it and they told me that they only warranty their work for three months (I was past that by a week), and it would cost me as a new repair. When the guy came on-site, he denied that the problem was due to their work and quoted my over $2000 to fix it. I called another company to get a second opinion and they confirmed that the it was simple problem (caused by Harry's) and fixed it for $80. I don't know if this company is clueless when it comes to locks or if they just scamming people. Either way, avoid these guys at all costs. read more

Tried to get a couple door locks installed. Instead got the run around from Larry the dispatcher. Asking for pictures and measurements which streached on for 3 days, e.g, provided pictures then needed distance between screw holes, provided distance, then needed width. The locksmith came and did his job re keying my locks. When is was done he said I had to pay right then. He didn't tell me that they take a 3.5% convenience fee if you pay by credit card or debit card. You shouldn't have to pay the fee with a debit card because there's no fee to the vendor. I'm actually disappointed I have to write this review. I filled out a survey after my visit and asked to be contacted and no one has - so, on to Yelp I go. I filled out the online request form on a Monday to have my house rekeyed and some new hardware installed. I received a call within 15 mins telling me they had time the next day (Tuesday) to visit me between 10-12. Great! Tuesday at 12:30 rolls around and no one has showed so I call in to the store. The girl who answers says I'm not on the schedule and there was no record I had ever called in. She's apologetic and says someone will be out after 3. Okay, great. 3:30 arrives and finally someone shows up at my house and does ... basically nothing. I'm told that my front door hardware needs to be returned because it won't fit, but they never actually tried. I'm told the garage deadbolt I bought "doesn't make sense" and that it must be Kwikset's fault for coming out with a new design. He never gave the instructions more than a cursory glance. I am then charged $180 because "we spent time here." To be fair, I got a lesson on how to use Kwikset's smart key feature. Guess what - I read the instructions and consulted an online article and installed the garage deadbolt myself 30 mins after the technician left. Guess what again - the front door hardware fits fine and I did it myself the next day. I will say the technician who visited was very nice and polite but this whole experience has left me disappointed. I won't be recommending this business to friends, family, or neighbors. read more

This was a really great example of finding an old-school shop, where they are very competent at their profession, they really knew the different types of locks keys etc. that were possibilities, and they were friendly and honest. I was able to get the keys I need to be cut and tested for so much less than what most of the shops charged from a friendly staff, and a great neighborhood. While they were taking care of all the key issues, they suggested I walk down the street for a bite to eat and a brew which I did, and went to trapdoor brewery, and had some great tacos and beers, while I waited for my key issues to become resolved. Price was so good that more than paid for lunch and we will definitely be back whenever we have other lock or key issues in the future. I cannot suggested this business enough. read more

This is a great locksmith, and right there on Main Street. They've got a huge inventory of locks and safes, and the locksmith is way pro. Believe me, this is much better than buyin' keys at a big box store! Besides regular keys and locks, Harry's can do access control, electronic locks, door closers, master key systems and high security. We moved into a new house and the door that led under the house had no key. I always key all of my external doors the same so I don't have to waste time looking for different keys. The previous owners said that it was the same as the house key, but it wasn't even the same brand as the rest of the house. I bought a new keyed handle from a home improvement store, making sure that it could be rekeyed, and called Harry's. They told me I could come by right then and have it set up to fit my other keys. I drove over and 10 minutes later it was done! My only regret is that I didn't just buy the whole thing there and have them rekey it. They have a huge selection and with the great service they provided I would have been happy to give them more business. Going forward, this is the only locksmith we will use! read more

Absolutely fantastic service. Every single person I worked with, Mike, Kyle and a handful of others was just the best. They are clearly experts in their field and very friendly to boot! Harry's where customer service comes last! I took a lock into Harry's to be rekeyed to be the same as another lock. They rekeyed it but to a completely new key. I took the othe other lock into them and complaind. They said they would make it match the one they rekeyed wrong. I sent someone to pick up the lock they had to rekey to fix their error and they had the nerve to charge me to correct THEIR error. I stopped by and spoke with the owner, "Pat" about a refund and he became almost hostile. I later phoned him about the refund and he actually said not to come back there again. Never again. If this was the first time I had poor service there that's one thing but it wasn't. I'm not going back for a third time to be abused as a customer. read more

I came in needing to get new keys for an old Camry. It wasn't easy. The master key was ill and dying. It needed to be re-coded and the first cut didn't make the cut. So Tom took the radical step of dismantling the glove compartment key in order to get a better fit. Not only did the new keys work, they unlocked the driver's side door as well--and the previous owner of the car informed me to not even try it. Why doesn't Yelp have a zero star option? It pains me to give this business a star! They came out to change locks at a house I just moved into. The guy was nice enough, but after offering to change a patio lock, proceeded to get grease all over the curtains because he neglected to simply push them aside out of his way. I reached out directly to him the next day but no response. I tried hard to get the stain out to no avail. I replaced them with inexpensive curtains from Target, sent more emails with pics of the old curtains, the new ones, and asked if they needed a receipt in order to reimburse me for the damage. After several emails, a guy responded first telling me the person I emailed wasn't at the company any longer so that is why they didn't respond (despite me emailing a general mailbox) and then finally offered me a "credit" of $25 claiming that was a fair resolution. When I pointed out it was not fair to require me to do more business with their company in order to recoup anything for the damage they caused, he then lied that my old curtains were already dirty, and that it was my responsibility to have moved my curtains out of the way so his employee didn't ruin them. I responded that this was preposterous as 1) I had one arm in a sling at the time and was walking with a cane after a bike crash causing several broken bones as opposed to the young, able-bodied yet careless employee who had two free hands, and 2) it is customary that when workers come into a home to do work, whether it be painting, etc. it is their responsibility to take some reasonable amount of precaution to not damage the homeowner's furnishings. I received no response after this despite the owner of the business being copied on all of the emails. I could understand if I had gone out and bought some $400 Restoration Hardware replacement curtains, but gimme a break...$50 at Target was completely reasonable and to be unwilling to refund me any amount as opposed to requiring me to give them more business to get a discount was like rubbing salt in the wound. Why on earth would I (or anyone) want to do business with a company that does careless work and passes the blame to me without accepting responsibility? read more

I broke the ignition key for my car and it was the only one I had. I called a locksmith that I know is within my longboard travel range and was pleasantly surprised when a knowledgeable, friendly, eager to help female answered who sounded super cute, greeted me. She asked a few questions, gave me my options and prices and, bam... didn't even have to use google. I skated the fifteen blocks(up hill) and was again pleased when I arrived. The store is welcoming and clean. There is a ton of locks and accessories to choose from. The staff are all super polite and well groomed.
