Why doesn't Yelp have a zero star option? It pains me to give this business a star! They came out to change locks at a house I just moved into. The guy was nice enough, but after offering to change a patio lock, proceeded to get grease all over the curtains because he neglected to simply push them aside out of his way. I reached out directly to him the next day but no response. I tried hard to get the stain out to no avail. I replaced them with inexpensive curtains from Target, sent more emails with pics of the old curtains, the new ones, and asked if they needed a receipt in order to reimburse me for the damage. After several emails, a guy responded first telling me the person I emailed wasn't at the company any longer so that is why they didn't respond (despite me emailing a general mailbox) and then finally offered me a "credit" of $25 claiming that was a fair resolution. When I pointed out it was not fair to require me to do more business with their company in order to recoup anything for the damage they caused, he then lied that my old curtains were already dirty, and that it was my responsibility to have moved my curtains out of the way so his employee didn't ruin them. I responded that this was preposterous as 1) I had one arm in a sling at the time and was walking with a cane after a bike crash causing several broken bones as opposed to the young, able-bodied yet careless employee who had two free hands, and 2) it is customary that when workers come into a home to do work, whether it be painting, etc. it is their responsibility to take some reasonable amount of precaution to not damage the homeowner's furnishings. I received no response after this despite the owner of the business being copied on all of the emails. I could understand if I had gone out and bought some $400 Restoration Hardware replacement curtains, but gimme a break...$50 at Target was completely reasonable and to be unwilling to refund me any amount as opposed to requiring me to give them more business to get a discount was like rubbing salt in the wound. Why on earth would I (or anyone) want to do business with a company that does careless work and passes the blame to me without accepting responsibility? read more

My husband locked his keys in his truck this morning. I called at 8:15 and by 8:45 Garrett handed the keys to me. $53.12 on my credit card. Fast, friendly service. I don't have to be late for work! I think it took him a whole minute to open the lock we lost the key to, but that's because I was talking to him the whole time. This place is super unprofessional. The driver of their white van needs to not be riding on people's abumpers at an unsafe speed while driving down the road. Way over the speed limit and me totally just cruising along at maybe 5 M.P.H under the speed limit turning right just minding my own business. This white van rides up extremely scary close to my bumper and lays on the horn. I will be reporting the wreck less driving of this vehicle to the Clark county sheriff after typing this. read more

Awesome!!! is the best way to describe my interaction with these very fine people. Harry's was nothing short of pure professionalism, expertise, and above all care for my dilemma. Disappointing experience. The Dispatcher said she would call me back to get payment information but didn't do so. Then the locksmith called later and clearly did not want to come out on a weekend based on our phone conversation, saying he couldn't commit to it. Last I heard from him, he said he'd call in 40 minutes but never called. I messaged him multiple times, with various time options and no response - so I found another company that came out quickly. read more

Oh so helpful. I had purchased a used vehicle in Seattle area before coming to visit Portland, and discovered I only had a valet key, no master key, with some complications caused by that. They made one quickly, and programmed the key fob I had bought off Amazon for my wife. After shopping around attempting to find a shop that would cut a key for a Honda Pilot I stumbled across Harry's Key Service. I called to get a quote on the work and was treated very well and the answer was very prompt. The price quote was exactly what I expected it to be so I drove down and walked into the shop. The shop has an old school hardware shop feel; very hustle bustle busy, but I was greeted warmly and treated with respect. The key got cut in about 30 minutes and I was on my way. My car is 11 years old and I'm the original owner. After thousands of uses my key has been worn down to where it would barely turn the ignition. I had a lock to replace on my garage. The first guy who came out was new and broke a part that had to be replaced, leaving me without access to my garage for about a week until I had to call to find out that the part came in. It was frustrating, but Harry's was great about fixing the issue without charge and they were genuinely apologetic about the mistake. I appreciate them owing up to the new hire's error and making it right. Mistakes happen and I will certainly call them should I need a locksmith in the future. read more

Nothing is more frustrating than a company that is unreliable and doesn't keep their word. We called to schedule an appointment for a morning time slot and were told we would get that with a courtesy call 30 minutes prior to arrival. On the morning of our appointment, we still had not received a call by 10 am so we called to be sure they were still coming in the morning as we were unavailable after 12:30pm. They assured us they'd have someone out that morning. 12:30pm rolls around and no show, no call so we called once again and were told that we were scheduled for a 2-3pm time slot. Something that was not mentioned to us when we had called in the morning and in fact they confirmed a morning arrival! We would have never scheduled it knowing it was in the afternoon. Get it together people! Furthermore, other plans were changed/ruined that affected more people than just us because of this. Unbelievable. read more
