I'm headed out of town tomorrow and I had already made an appointment for a painful tooth a couple of weeks from now. When it got worse today, I literally jumped off a bus on Water & Wisconsin on my way to work, called the office from the corner, and was in a dentist chair 5 minutes later. He took his time to analyze my problem and come up with the best plan for care given the fact that I have an early flight tomorrow. He's a first rate dentist and a kind human. One of the many things I love about Milwaukee is that they have kept their architecture and old buildings. I think there is actually a historical society on the first floor. Anyway, while the building is quaint, the office is warm and up to date. Everyone from the front office, to the hygienist, to Dr. Zeeb are very nice and make you feel comfortable. I have to be honest I am that person who has dental anxiety, I do not know why but whenever I go to the dentist I sincerely get palpitations. Everyone in this office makes you feel very at ease. I had a full exam in which unfortunately resulted in the diagnosis that I need to have some cavities filled. However, Dr. Zeeb showed me the x-rays and explained everything thoroughly and showing me the pictures and my options. Betty was my hygienist and she is very gentle and works very quickly! Dawn at the front desk is really good about working with tricky schedules, getting insurance information and reminders. So glad I was able to find a dentist for the whole family in a location convenient to our home. There is a parking garage right next door and Dr. Zeeb's office does validate your parking...yay!

At first, I was doing treatment with Invisalign. When I came to his office for a consult, he asked tons of questions about my experience despite what my previous Orthodontist was telling him. It was like he was wanting to know what I wanted to do rather than run with what my Orthodontist wanted. After I considered wearing braces and starting over because I was tired of waiting for Invisalign and felt that the progress was moving along too slow, he accepted me. My appointment wasn't until weeks later to make sure that I was sure about my decision and I didn't have to pay anything down until the braces were applied. Ever since the application of my braces, I've been very satisfied. He explains what he doing and gives me an update on how my teeth are moving. Since I chose the ceramic braces, he even gave me the option to come in more frequently to have the rubber bands changed because they stain very easily. I'm very happy with my results so far as it's been about 4 months.

Then one month later Ultimate Dental I have 12?!!! They scheduled 4 follow up apts. my dad is a retired dentist and told me to get a second opinion so I did. Guess what. 0 cavities. I also have asked Ultimate Dental for a copy of my X-rays ( I want my dad to see them) and they will not send them to me. Cons: they don't accept all insurance. And since they have their own lab, they like to wait for little problems to get big enough to justify a crown (rather than manage little problems more conservatively with fillings). They've invested in the lab, so naturally they want to do crowns - sort of a specialty, and the crowns I have gotten from them are very nice - function is great, as well as aesthetics. But my new dentist has pointed out a bunch of little cavities that can be filled right now. This approach should save me money as well as time in the dentist's chair, by postponing (maybe even eliminating) the need for a crown. Bottom line: if they accept your insurance, and you really do need a crown ... go to Tosa Dental; you will be very happy with their work. But if you would rather try to deal with issues earlier when they are smaller, there are other dental practices that do take a more conservative approach.

Even the inaccuracies. They are first and foremost a money making machine - just remember that. Next, they are not attentive, truly caring, or committed to the comfort and health of their patients. They partner with insurance companies to collect data. They receive compensation for this. They really work for them. Not you. You will feel this from the second you walk through their doors until long after you leave. The icky feeling just sticks with you. You will not feel quite right. You may find benefit from Physical therapy, the therapists treatment and massage tips, and you may need/benefit from a splint, but those WILL BE COSTLY, both literally and figuratively... and it really is the figuratively you should understand most. This place shares inaccurate records far and wide. Inaccurate records. Records that WILL follow you and may haunt or hurt you later. Other dentists and doctors and insurance companies WILL get a plethora of information and a litany of "conditions" they see fit to create. Just remember, they do not work for you. There are limited Specislists locally, sadly. If you need the treatment, get it, but listen to your gut, heed the warnings, and pay very close attention to your chart records, get/review copies - and demand corrections - immediately.
