We absolutely adore this place. Not only is it the best place to golf on the whole island...the staff is simply above and beyond. From the second we got there today the young man at the register picked out my daughter's ball color cause it matched her dress. And the interaction made her smile from ear to ear. Then she took a bit of a tumble of the golf course. Not only did he take care of her with the first aid kit, he distracted her from crying by helping her feed the birds and made her laugh. I hope the owner sees this post. This is what makes people continue to come back time and time again. This was the worst experience I have ever had playing mini golf in my entire life!!! I showed up with 4 of my little cousins. We saw the signs that said only 4 people to a hole, but the women at the front said we were ok to play with 5 because it was not very busy. As soon we teed off on the first hole, A small and grumpy man came out of the pro shop and started yelling at us for "NOT READING THE SIGNS" and that we either had to separate of leave all together. I had told him that the women at the front said we were fine, but he snapped at me and yelled "SHE DOES NOT OWN THE PROPERTY I DO." I asked for my all of my money back and he reluctantly gave it to me. I was about to leave and then that small, weird man call me and all of my little cousins, who are under the age of 12 "JACKASSES." I will never be coming back to this horrible place. Super cute and clean course for the family to all enjoy. The holes are fun and my 3 year old was even able to play (max was 5 strokes and she maxed on most holes lol) but it was a great night out for us. There is plenty of street parking and they have a lot in the back as well. I enjoyed the final hole where you can win free games or a free soda. It made for a fun ending! read more

I've been playing mini golf here since I was a wee lad and it has always been my favorite course on the island. As someone with a house in loveladies, we pass about 5 other courses to come down to Hartland and the trip is always well worth it. Going to tournaments Wednesday mornings run by the owner, Dave, is literally the best childhood experience imaginable, with tons of trophies, raffle prizes, and more for the price of playing a regular game of minigolf! After 25 years of coming here, I've only had great experiences with Dave. He's watched me grow and always greeted me with a smile when I'd come back after a while away. No creeps on this course, just some good ole family fun :) read more

Had a great time here having some one on one time with my son. Very clean and great music. We went around lunch time so it was also nice and empty. I'd imagine this would not be the case in the evening. My son also won a free soda on the bonus hole at the end and he was over the moon. We played as a couple at Hartland Mini Golf this past Saturday and it was a lot of fun! Of course, as per usual I lost poorly, but that's only because the other half had won the kid's tournament here a lot as a kid! The course is very well maintained, I just wish the mini water traps actually had water in them (I mean nothing wrong with that they didn't, I'm just a sucker for cute little touches.) They even had a ball cleaner, which I haven't seen in all my mini golf travels. I mean at this point i should join the MiniPGA! The last hole is an all-or-nothing shoot the ball into the clowns mouth or the safer Plinko style pegs. You can bet correctly I went for the safer style, and so did the boyfriend. I wont a popcorn and he won a free game, which we promptly gave to the mother and her two kids behind us that were kind enough to let us go in front of them. I am a local, lived around this area all my life, golfed a lot of mini golf courses because around here it is really one of the only fun things to do that don't require you to travel long distances to have fun. Of all the mini golf joints I have been to on the island, and anywhere else for that matter, Hartland has always been my go to, #1 place. The course itself is one of the more diverse courses on the island, I like the challenge and look forward to trying to outdo myself each and every time I come back. But that stinking prize clown at the end needs to open it's mouth just a little more so I can finally spin that wheel! The arcade inside has new games each year they come back, wide variety of them too. Whether you wanna race a car or you are more of the gambling type, there are plenty of games there to suit your needs. Tons of prizes to win with your tickets too! They also have drinks and snacks inside too if anyone wants something to snack on or quench their thirst while they golf. The employees there is so friendly, I have nice conversations with them after I finish my game, all of them are really nice kids, even the new people I see come in each year. Super friendly with other customers too. I've been there in times where people give the employees a rough time or violate course rules, and the employees always handle it in a calm and collected matter, very respectful. Seems like they want the violaters to learn something from their mistakes rather than ban them from the course and kick them out for good. The boss man there is a really cool guy, super genuine, shakes my hand whenever I see him, and I always have a light hearted conversation with him. He really seems to love what he does and I respect the hell out of that. For a golf course on an island constantly being visited by tourists and local alike day in and day out, they know what they are doing there and I 100% guarantee a good time, as long as you follow the rules and respect the course. Played Hartland mini golf for the first time ever tonight. Really nice course! Some fun holes and tricky ways to get a hole in one. The staff was super friendly and the prices are reasonable too! What struck me most is how extremely clean the owners keep this place! The entire time we were there you could see someone from the staff sweeping rocks off the paths, vacuuming pine needles off the greens and making sure that all the customers were getting their best possible experience! We will definitely put this course at the top of our list of "must play" golf on Long Beach Island! 5 stars for awesome service and family fun!!! read more

Dave from Hartland Mimiature golf is a Godsend. Upon realizing out gas level was dangerously low at 10 PM and google maps was sending us on a wild goose chase for a gas station that was incorrect on their map, we happened to stop at the first place where we saw somebody to ask for directions, which was this mimiature golf course. We immediately met Dave, who offered us his personal 2 gallon gas can to put in our tank, as he gave us the correct directions to the gas station. He only asked that we refill and return it! Upon our return he gave us a free pass for his golf course! THANKS DAVE FOR SAVING OUR NIGHT!!!!!!! Growing up, I spent most of my summers down the shore. Naturally, mini golf became a big part of my childhood. You know, before I discovered girls and alcohol, in which my summers were then spent chasing after those two things instead of whacking a ball around some downscaled greens. But back to my more innocent years. Despite my best efforts leisurely puttin' my way up and down Long Beach Island's many courses, I recall a time I got straight-up schooled at Hartland. It was a mid-week kids' tournament and apparently some of my prepubescent peers had studied this course as if it were freakin' Augusta National because they knew every trick in the damn book to hit a hole-in-one. That heart-shaped one? Don't try to go up the center of the heart mound - instead, hug the perimeter and it'll guide your ball right into the cup. Meanwhile, I'm there with my mom/caddy lookin' like some basic bitch hittin' it straight at the heart and bouncin' my ball out of bounds. I swear, the winner got 16 aces and then sunk two-putts on two holes, where his parents likely clenched their teeth and cracked their knuckles in frustration and disappointment. I'm still pretty sure I came out under par, but they didn't hand out participant ribbons back in the '90s, so I was shit outta luck. What this says about Hartland from a critique standpoint, I'm not so sure. Maybe that certain people tend to take this spot more seriously than others. All in all, Hartland's a decent course. There are certainly more challenging and more attractive choices on the island, but that doesn't put it out of the running by any means. We're talking a quick 18 if you putt as a pair, so you might as well make it worth your while and turn the trip into a family outing. There are a lot of two-parters, where you have a series of first holes to aim for before they pipe your ball down to a lower level final hole. The greens are well-kept, but the same really can't be said of the mini bunkers and mini water hazards (which have no actual water). The gimmicky holes, particularly the one with the rocket launcher contraption, are a bit out-dated and janky-lookin'. The bonus hole with the prize wheel (free game, free popcorn, free soda, etc.) gives you two options for a spin: going for broke by driving it into a clown mouth, or testing your luck at a Plinko-style pegboard. I go clown or go home. The outdoor speakers are a nice touch, playing top 40, kid-friendly hip-hop, pop punk, and Bruce. Duh. Shore music. Brings me back, I tell ya... read more

Good mini golf place. Hard. Lots of hills to make it challenging. The cups are a bit beat up so the ball bounces or rims out sometimes. The 18th hole is fun as you can win things other than more rounds of golf. They played great music and the kids that worked there were respectful, pleasant and social. We were here to play mini golf on 8/22 and had a great time. $20 for 2 adults and 1 child. On the last hole you have the chance to win prizes like a free soda or arcade tokens. We each won 2 tokens and then my daughter got to play a few games in the arcade which gave her tickets to be redeemed for typical arcade prizes. The girl at the ticket counter (long dirty blonde hair and a "peer leader" shirt, wish I got her name) was very helpful and sweet and super patient with my indecisive 7 year old. WOW! This place is a dump! The prizes on the last hole were complete garbage. I won a free pop. 6 tiny oz of soda pop. What a joke. The joint was crowded and smelled like feet. I went into the arcade at the end of the golf course and it was pretty fun. My kids loved it. I let my kids go play the little basketball game they have in there. One of them called me over and asked "What does p***y mean?" I was shocked to hear such a question from my 6 YEAR OLD. I will always remember how well the owner treated my daughter and her friends when we celebrated her 13th birthday at Hartland. It was a Monday in September, and I was so glad they were still open. We didn't call ahead and arrived with 13 almost 13-year olds. The friendly young woman behind the counter politely asked me to wait just a minute. She went inside for a minute and came back to tell me that we would get a discounted party rate. What a nice surprise! The girls played in groups and really enjoyed the course. When they were done playing, I gave them about $20 to spend in the arcade. With my permission, the owner gave them all free ice cream and cups of candy. He also gave my daughter, the birthday girl, a ton of extra tokens. They had a ball, and my daughter was convinced that I had arranged the whole thing in advance. That's how attentive the owner was.
