When they came out I was unsure about them because any other time I've ever ordered a loaded type nacho they're, how do I explain it, more colorful I guess. Usually its like bacon and American cheese, guac, pico, etc., but these were just shades of white and green. I wish I could've finished them but the portion was quite a bit for 1 person. My only gripe would be the chicken. It reminded me of the meat you get in a launchable. I think I would rather prefer a crispy diced chicken. But that's just me. The other 2 didn't have any complaints about the Rival Stix or the burger. The Chicken Tenders were said to not have much flavor in the breading. The person who ordered them didn't care for the breading. I was also tempted into some sort of creme brulee donut I think. It was really good but I was already so stuffed from the nachos that I couldn't finish it. Its for the sweet tooth folks. The general space is all sports themed as expected. Quite spacious. We sat in a booth so we could watch preseason football. We really enjoyed this convenience! The food we ordered was delicious. We ordered hot boneless wings with bleu cheese for an appetizer. They were definitely spicy, but not so much so that you were sweating while eating them. We had to ask for an extra cup of bleu cheese which came out quickly. I had a chicken cesar wrap and it was stuffed with chicken. I could only eat half of the plate and took the other half home for lunch. My boyfriend had a spicy burger which he added a chipotle aioli to. He also enjoyed his plate. Our server and her trainee were both friendly and prompt. Being in Pittsburgh, the walls were covered with Steelers and Penguins history, along with plenty of jerseys from players I grew up watching. Our server, Nicole, was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and quick with recommendations. Before my coworker could even look at the menu, I spotted the Soft Pretzel Sticks and ordered them as an appetizer. Good decision. Warm, salty, and paired perfectly with the cheese sauce. Definitely order these When I asked Nicole for recommendations, she immediately suggested the Reuben and the wings. Had I not eaten a Reuben the day before, that's probably what I would have ordered. As for the wings, I'll admit it--I am a Wing Snob. If they're not homemade or from Western New York, I'm usually passing. That's not a knock on their wings; it's just a very high standard that comes from growing up around some of the best wings in the country. Wanting to try something local, I ordered the Pittsburger. For me, it was just okay. Not bad by any means, and I cleaned my plate, but it wasn't a sandwich I'd order again. Looking back, the Reuben probably would have been the better choice. The fries were also average. I requested them crispy and without seasoning, but they didn't really stand out. Meanwhile, my travel companion ordered boneless wings. What can I say? He's 18. I even tried explaining the superiority of blue cheese over ranch, but that lesson appears to have fallen on deaf ears. Overall, I'm giving All Star Sports Bar & Grill 3 stars. That rating has more to do with my particular food choices and the rushed nature of our visit than the restaurant itself. I have no idea why she treated me like I was a college kid. I'm a 35 yr old man. I walked there. If her reason to treat me like garbage was due to her not wanting me drinking and driving, she still sold me a 6 to go. Its not like I had my keys in my pocket to lay on the bar. She offered to let us try some of the wing sauces (all made in house) with house made chips, and that's where it started. How are they all so good?? When our food came out, we still weren't expecting much. I didn't even take a picture because I figured it was just dive bar food. I was wrong! Everything was just as good as the wing sauces! I ordered the buffalo chicken salad tossed in Michael's wing sauce. The lettuce was crispy, the chicken had great breading on it, the ranch is made in house and delicious, and the salad was HUGE! My friends ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, a cheesesteak and a fish sandwich. Everyone was shocked. We were all almost too full to ride back to our cars. The beer and seltzer selection is great too. The bathrooms were clean. They have a pool table in the back. This place is great. We will be back again, no doubt.
