Hebron is such a cool little town. There isn't a lot going on there, but every restaurant/bar feels vastly different than the next which makes it a little bit of an adventure. Hart's Saloon is the kind of place where you kind of want to be a regular, just because of how nice the employees are. It's not a super big place, but they have they have (what seems to be) a converted patio that has games like giant jenga and wall corn in the hole so the relaxed environment is great for a bite with friends or even just chatting with others at the bar. I ate the loaded tater tots and their Jim Beam chili on it is sooo good! Portion sizes were totally fair for the price. It's not a fancy spot and has a bit of a lived in feel to it, but that gives it so much more charm then a big name spot you might find in a larger city. Definitely worth a stop. read more

The atmosphere is cool and relaxed. The bar and decor are very interesting. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The food was great. I had chicken tacos that were dynamite. My son had the Flat Head pizza, bbq and chicken. My hubby had the Evolution pizza, veggie style. The pizzas were awesome as they were cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven. Been here sooooo many times but never left a review. Finally got my fiancé to stop in with me! I have to say, every time I come it's always top notch! Service is good, bartenders are always great and the chef is friendly and personable. Today's staff was brought to you by Matt (chef) and Kennedy (bartender) and they were great!! We came in for a quick drink and ended up with food, drinks and live music. This is a great place to relax and hang out. Today we got the stuffed pepper soup, which had a smokey flavor, which was different and great! We also had the Hebron Bread and now know why it's so popular. Service was excellent, and they are the only local on-tap provider for Cobbs Beer, which are all very good beers. Probably one of my favorite destinations while on the bike. A quick ride from Lake Geneva. Although small, their kitchen is top notch and produces some of the best food in the area. The wood fire pizza is a must. They also do sandwiches, my favorite being the Italian beef combo. To die for. This place is perfect and they don't need to care about yelp reviews. But I'll do one anyway. It's a one of a kind small town place that although most seem to be locals they welcome anyone. Their pizzas are made from scratch right before your eyes in a brick oven and delivered by the chef Matt. So delicious! The waitress Samantha was amazing and friendly. Bingo was going on around us on a Monday night. They said good bye when we left and they'd hope we'd come back. We will. First time here and we've driven past many times but never noticed it was there. Went with our neighbors and know we'll be back. The waitress was so friendly (Myra?). The cook was on fire, very passionate about his menu and let me tell you his homemade chicken vegetable soup was so good we took some home. On a walking tour three days ago, I'd never been to Hebron, came in in the middle of the day as a complete stranger. I found a comfortably cool place, not freezing cold thank goodness. They aren't serving hamburgers these days, so I settled for the "Ultimate Grilled Cheese": Italian garlic bread with three kinds of cheese, bacon, tomato slices and under the broiler. It was very good, just as good as the hamburger I thought I wanted when I came in. Not cheap mind you: $11 with a Coke and refills. Alicia the barkeep is friendly and really flexible, accommodating two other stray customers - no they didn't want this, they wanted that, can I have the other instead, could you change the TV channel, etc.: no problem. I just started coming to this place and have discovered a skilled chef in an unlikely place. Friends recommended the pizza so we stopped by and were pleasantly surprised. The chef works the bar and also cooks. He came to the table after we ate to ask how everything was going. We told him the pizza was excellent. Service was also very good. His name is Matt and he is trying to bring a new eating option to the area. I went back today as I saw he had made a limited batch of gumbo. I haven't had any good gumbo in ages. I'll start with the fact that they were very under staffed, so not the servers problem, they were running their butts off. Waited over an hour for food, when they took our order, the table next to us grabbed our waitress, they hadn't ordered yet, were there long before us. Everything is cooked in a brick oven, not well. Cute bar with good pizza!! I tired the Jimmy nick pizza and it was very good. The crust is one of my favorites light and crispy. We sat outside on the patio and the whiskey barrel tables with the fire pits in the middle are great, especially on a cool evening. Actually the whole place is very well done and charming. The light fixtures outside are gas nossle, no detail has been overlooked. I also tried the bloody Mary which was great, spicy but not over done. The only reason for 4 starts was the fact we ordered mac n cheese bites and they were forgotten then brought out after our main meal. Great place to pop into. We had a good team hearing more about the Hebron state basketball championship of 62. It's an amazing story in how a small town, with limited players, won a state basketball championship in 1962. It's still a big deal to the city. Hart's salon also has the most comfortable bar stools I have ever sat in. We are talking 6 minutes niches plus of cushion and a real double wide seat footprint with an appropriately positioned backing for great lumbar support. I am a regular patron of Hart's Saloon. Every visit is just as great as the previous visit. The food is ALWAYS delicious and consistent. I enjoy Whiskey Wednesday (half price whiskey all day!). The pizza sauce is very bland. Have tried different varieties of it, but it is not good. Hoops pizza is so much better. Hart's has potential, but they need to properly staff themselves. They shouldn't have their bartender cooking pizzas as well bc she can't keep up. Also, add some spice to the pizza sauce, it needs help! read more
