    Hot dogs and curly fries
    Kerry F.

Thank goodness for Yelp! We were starving and would never have found this place had it not been for our trusty Yelp ap. Apparently everyone had the same idea because the place was packed at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. The poor bartender was the only serving staff but handled the crowd well. I had the gizzards (yay), my husband has the AYCE fish fry and my daughter the hotdogs. My husband and I loved ours, my daughter said that her hotdog tasted chemically and didn't eat them. Lots of locals this place looks like a fun spot just avoid the hot dogs

    Homemade Chicken noodle soup. Yes!!!

Small hole in the wall with great bar food. Prices were decent. Wet burrito was excellent and so were the burgers

Neat country bar with great patty melt and potato skins. Nice people, too. They even had Bell's Oberon on tap.

Halfway Diner - Homemade Strawberry Jam

After church this morning, I decided to treat myself to breakfast at the Halfway Diner, a charming…read morelittle spot tucked along 14 Mile Road (M-57), right about halfway between Rockford and Greenville, Michigan. This classic hometown diner delivers that cozy, down-home vibe with friendly service, a clean and welcoming interior, and a menu packed with hearty American comfort classics--all-day breakfast included. I went straight for the Country Sausage Omelette, a generous creation made with three fresh farm eggs, stuffed with savory country sausage, hash browns, and smothered in rich sausage gravy. It was everything I crave in a breakfast plate--scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, and that creamy gravy--all conveniently wrapped up in one neat, delicious package. The flavors were spot-on: hearty, comforting, and perfectly seasoned with a generous sprinkle of black pepper on top. For an extra touch of sweetness, I paired it with raisin toast slathered in their homemade strawberry jam--tangy, bright, and just the right contrast to the savory omelette. No breakfast feels complete without my go-to drink: a tall glass of chocolate milk. This one stood out--it had that rich, old-school taste of real chocolate syrup mixed into fresh milk, far more flavorful than the standard pre-made versions you often get. Pure indulgence in a glass. The service was warm and attentive, even during what seemed like a busy post-church rush. The place is spotless, with plenty of seating in a somewhat bustling layout (think classic diner charm with 4-top tables). One note: larger groups might need to split across tables with an aisle in between, as seating isn't always easy to configure for big parties. Payment happens right at the table, which keeps things straightforward. One small observation about the menu--while there are plenty of creative omelette options and specials (like ham and eggs or corned beef hash), classic combinations like eggs with bacon or sausage links alongside potatoes don't appear as standalone items the way they do at some places. That said, the Country Sausage Omelette more than made up for it by hitting all those familiar notes in one satisfying dish. Overall, the Halfway Diner is a solid, feel-good spot for a reliable, no-fuss breakfast. Nothing halfway about the portions or the quality--definitely worth the drive if you're in the Rockford-Greenville area looking for authentic diner fare. I'll be back!

It was bottomless coffee's and our cups were never empty. The food was such a good price for the portions, and so tasty. Everything we had I would recommend. We got the chorizo - 10/10. Breakfast at Evergreen Inn…read more This morning, in the spirit of liberty and breakfast carbs, I ventured out to the Evergreen Inn to celebrate the Fourth with a fork. Their specials board boasted a short stack paired with a choice of meat--how could I resist? I threw in a couple of scrambled eggs to round things out and waited for the fireworks (on my plate, that is). The pancakes arrived looking like golden perfection--fluffy, inviting, ready to be drenched. Unfortunately, the syrup rations were a bit...conservative. I wouldn't say stingy, but let's just say I had to request two more cups to give those cakes the celebration they deserved. The eggs? Fine. Serviceable. I suspect they started life in a carton, already liquefied and waiting for their destiny. The sausages were decent, the chocolate milk was nostalgic in all the right ways, and the cutlery had clearly survived a few wars of its own. And the ketchup--oh, the ketchup. A bottle proudly labeled "Fancy" does not make it so. If someone brought that stuff to a backyard BBQ, I'd stage a condiment coup and return with a bottle of Heinz. Now, let's talk ambiance. The place is *kind of* clean--clean-adjacent, clean-curious, but not quite committed to the title. Still, nothing alarming, just...comfortably lived-in. What it lacked in polish, the staff made up for in personality. The lone waitress holding down the fort was kind, attentive, and clearly doing the job of three people. Any service slip-ups? Forgiven on the spot. The bill came in a little higher than anticipated, especially for a daily special. But with few breakfast contenders in the area, Evergreen Inn knows it has the home-field advantage--and it's charging rent. Still, the pancakes alone were worth the visit. Just bring your own syrup--and maybe your own ketchup, too.

First time I had a dish called The Cook's Breakfast which was biscuits and gravy topped with corned beef hash , cheese and two eggs. Came back two days later with our friends and got the lemon blueberry French toast and some eggs with a side of bacon. Everything was perfectly cooked both times. The server was absolutely amazing as well!! Will definitely come here every time I'm in Rockford.

Got industrial with cement floors , tables made from old doors . Nice touch , it's a little cold and tinny inside , they need to get sound proofing right . Menu is limited as they get started , my kids loved the Brussel sprouts , and we tried both the tomato basil soup and venison chili . The chili was underwhelming as chili should be thick and meaty and this was thin and watery , more of a soup not a chili . Cocktail menu is nice though the paper plane which I ordered had way too much lemon , a good paperplane is equal parts of all ingredients . It looked like they might be trying to be something they aren't with some of the choices , too many ingredients trying to make a craft cocktail , sometimes simple is better and learn to master the classics first . Cocktail prices were high for the area as well The nachos were tasty but need more heat , an option for more pico and maybe some jalapeño , even the candied ones mentioned in another app. Sandwiches looked good but they need an option other than fries , not everyone likes fries with a sandwich . Too many other places within a reasonable drive that are so much better in atmosphere and price for the same quality .

Service was top notch from start to finish. Plates were cleared between each course, we were checked on often but not too much and felt super taken care of. The tart strawberry mocktail was one of the best I've ever had, refreshing and perfectly balanced. We started with the truffle arancini- it sits on top of a bed of black pepper aioli which was to die for. The gem salad was fresh- loved the addition of crispy prosciutto&mandarins. I had the double waygu burger with fries(highly recommend asking for a side of the black pepper aioli for your fries!!) while my husband had the hanger steak frites. Both were cooked perfectly and SO flavorful. We were stuffed, but had to finish with the tiramisu. It came in a chilled glass- so appreciate the attention to detail. I'll be thinking about this meal until I can come back for more!

Bar seating is first come first served so I went right after work and got there about 4:45. There were a ton of seats open at the bar. A friend met me at 5pm. We were seated with Fin, the bartender. He was awesome- very attentive but not overbearing. I could tell when he was coming by to peek in on us but he never interrupted our conversation. He would glance over and check our drinks and pause, and then keep moving. I'm sure if I was alone he would've provided me with some banter, he seems nice enough. He recommended a cocktail - The Last Word. I've had one before and this one did not disappoint. The other drinks I had were the espresso martini and the New York sour- both favorites of mine and done very well by Fin. I love that this bar uses frosty glasses for their cocktails. It's a nice touch. I had to have the Wagyu meatballs. They're mentioned in many reviews and people at work agreed they're a must have. My friend wasn't very hungry so I ate 5 out of the 6 haha. The bread that comes w it is a focaccia that is his divine! I thought it was deep fried but it's just soaked in oil and then heated on the griddle. The meatballs are Wagyu 75/25 so kinda fatty but so smooth. They are served with a marinara sauce and ricotta. So good. Would get this again. The menu looks awesome but we were just there for drinks and snacks. Next time I'll make a reservation (Resy) and have dinner. Parking is typically awful. No valet. Bathrooms are multi sex unistalls, clean. The restaurant is noisy- maybe not a great first date spot. Seemed to be a lot of well to do people in the restaurant, based on the outfits and accessories I saw. Might be a place to meet someone new if it wasn't so loud and incredibly busy. It's hard to get a table during dinner hours especially if the weather is perfect. But try your best to get in. They do take walk ins and it's worth an hour wait.
