We were sat a dirty table. The chairs had food on them and the ac could not reach the corner we were sat in. Nobody puts Baby in the corner! We sat for 15 minutes sweating waiting for a server to come to our table! We ended up leaving as we were neglected on Liz's birthday weekend. Instead of eating and drinking here we went to surfside restaurant only a few minutes walk which was excellent!

Definite 5-star! I highly recommend when in Vilano Beach, FL! Caribbean themed restaurant with great seafood options! Nice portions of food! Great service and location!

Absolutely love this place. Quick service. Nice chill vibe on the water. And food is delicious. Peel n eat shrimp is always amazing The fish and chips basket is killer! For $19 you get fries and two massive pieces of chicken. The Vilano sunset is delicious as well

Loved this place due to the scenery/view as well as the sea view. The waitress at the bar, which is where we wanted to sit, was so attentive even if she had so much on her place. The nachos were exquisite and the portion was huge--after a few drinks we could not finish it. It was happy hour, don't blame us!

Had lunch here and it was perfect! Great views of the dolphins in the water. I got the fish tacos and the wife got the shrimp tacos, both were great! Got the Cat 5 bucket cocktail and it was really good but on the small side. Not a very large bucket. Waitress seemed a little busy and wasn't very sociable but was still good. Great food and a great price

Beaches at Vilano is the perfect waterfront spot for a relaxing, delicious lunch! The location couldn't be better--right on the water with a laid-back, coastal vibe that makes you want to stay a while. We had a group of four, and everything we ordered was fantastic. My daughter had the fried shrimp and absolutely loved them--crispy, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The rest of us shared the tacos (three per order), and the portions were generous, so two each was just right. Great flavor, great presentation. Our only small hiccup was that service was a bit slow--our server was friendly but admitted to getting caught up chatting with another table. That said, the food and setting more than made up for it. Highly recommend for a casual, tasty meal with a view. We'll definitely be back!

Always a great place in Vilano Beach. Lots of seating outdoors. Great views of the intercostal. Small bar with seating on the inside. The fish and chips basket is extremely large.

Nice day for a late lunch or early dinner. Restaurant has an indoor (bar and seating area) along with an outside (pier/deck) bar with a lot of seating for dinner guest. Good views of the river/inlet. Waitress-Jen, she did a good job B House Margaritas- Not good, so sweet and didn't taste any tequila D Appetizer-Nacho Grande, not good, cold nacho cheese food from the can D+ Dinners-Sunset Shrimp Tacos, very average onion rings, but the tacos were excellent B+ Marley Burger, good but not great. B- Bucket of beers (5 Bud Lights) for $15 A- Atmosphere-B+, probably a fun place to get drunk in your 20's and 30's

We stopped in for dinner on February 5, 2026. It was a very untypical Florida day, as it only reached maybe 45° for a high. The state and this restaurant was not built for this weather. This place needs to have the doors open, the umbrellas out and their patio packed with people as this place could draw a crowd. The drink menu looked amazing but, alas, we tucked in for a quiet dinner. The clam chowder was some of the best I have ever had. My wife and I split the wedge salad, which was HUGE. Very well-made with plenty of bacon, chopped tomatoes, and lots of blue cheese crumbles. Our server Jenn, who was wonderful, suggested extra blue cheese, which we gladly accepted. I had the appetizer Ahi tacos. This was an appetizer, it came with four crispy wontons filled with blackened ahi and a nice Ponzo sauce. They were topped with a mango salsa. Maybe someday we will be back in the area on our travels to where we could enjoy some of their bucket drinks out on the deck during a hot afternoon or a beautiful sunset evening.

Really the best spot for good drinks and sunset on the water!! The food and service is pretty standard and decent but I really love the outdoor patio and bar on the water, it is just beautiful!

I did not eat at Beaches at Villano. I ate at Aunt Kate's and it was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. The weight staff was amazing next time I'm getting the clam chowder because I had a small taste and it was delicious.

After being on the beach and starting to get hangry, this Bachelorette group of ours needed so appetizers and maybe a few more drinks. We were down the street from this restaurant, and based on the reviews, we decided to give it a try. We sat at the inside bar to soak up the AC. There were plenty of people outside, though with an additional bar and lots of umbrella tables. Our bartender was great. He managed our group of 6 well while taking all of our orders. I ordered the strawberry lemonade cocktail that was on the menu, and it was so refreshing and delicious. I'm not one for a lot of mixers, and it really didn't have much in it, which I liked. I also ordered a side of fries to snack on. The fries were hot and crispy. Other girls raved about the shrimp appetizer and the Pina coladas. This is a solid choice for good food and drinks!

Our mixologist was named Talon; he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He started by asking us what we usually like to drink (spirits and flavor profiles). Once we gave him the information he needed, Talon proceeded to make us some amazing cocktails. I absolutely loved mine and could have drank them all night. I tried some of my friends' drinks and they were all excellent as well. We ordered several appetizers to share (guacamole, wings, empanadas, and mojo chicharrones) plus beignets for dessert. Everything was very tasty! Talon came back over to ask us what options we'd like for our second round or drinks, so we all went with something different than the first order. Every cocktail he served us was really good and based on our individual tastes and preferences. I wish I lived in the area because I would go to Odd Birds regularly. The night we were there, they had a secret disco going on in the main dining area which sounded like a fun idea. I loved everything from the drinks, food, and interior decor. The Charlotte 33 Speakeasy area has a pretty atmosphere as well.

It gave modern tiki bar feeling, it was clean and felt very warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender and a very extensive and beautiful leather bound menu! I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Both were fantastic!! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would have stayed here for dinner! Definitely will be coming back here next time we are in town and every time after that!

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. By the time I was a few sips in, it was mostly meltwater. For that money I'd expect the drink to outlast the ice. Suggestion for the house: given the name, lean into it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.

It wasn't just brunch; it was an experience. The gorgeous presentation, homemade strawberry butter, warm berry compote, flavorful breakfast potatoes with peppers and onions, and all the little details made it one of those places you can't stop talking about. It left such an impression on us that years later, when planning another trip to St. Augustine, we specifically made sure Surfside Kitchen was on the itinerary. We were so excited to come back. Unfortunately, this visit was nothing like the one we remembered. The food wasn't bad, but it lacked everything that made Surfside special. The beautiful presentation was gone, the berry compote and strawberry butter had disappeared, the potatoes were plain, and the meal just felt... ordinary. The attention to detail and flavor that made this place stand out simply wasn't there. The highlight of our visit was our waitress Tiana, who was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. She was kind, attentive, and when we asked what had changed, she explained that the restaurant is under new ownership. That made everything make sense. This isn't written out of anger; it's disappointment. We came back because we remembered how special this place was, and we wanted to experience that again. Sadly, it feels like the Surfside Kitchen we fell in love with no longer exists. I truly wish the new owners the best, but I also hope they realize that people weren't just coming for chicken and waffles; they were coming for an experience. We dropped in late afternoon and grabbed a few seats at the indoor bar. The bar staff here works the entire bar I'm sure we were greeted by all of them during our visit and each provided exceptional service. The drinks here are very creative and all come with very generous pours, if you like rum this is a place you'll fall in love with after your first sip - we decided to just go down the drink menu and try as many as we could responsibly and immediately knew this would be a favorite when in the area. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite drink and it would be just as tough to pick a favorite off their small bite menu. We decided to try a few of the specials, it's a relatively simple menu but everything is filled with flavors that are incredible - the char-grilled oysters are plumb, fresh and unique in every way, the fried black grouper bites were crispy served with a delicious remoulade and a spicy jalapeño chimichurri that will light up your tastebuds, we also tried the jerk chicken thighs skewers and amazing crab empanadas filled with a curry concoction like no others. The portions are large enough to share and really balance out the cocktails, this was a really nice experience and one I plan to repeat in the near future, with all the options in St. Augustine this one is at the very top of the list in my opinion and with parking at a premium in the area they have plenty, definitely worth a try...
