    Pulled pork bowl with rice
    Abby R.

What a great place to grab lunch!! Especially for tourists, I highly recommend. Food is excellent and the menu has lots of great options. I talked about my pulled pork rice bowl for weeks! Blueberry bbq sauce...wow! Portions are big. A lot of seating. We did have to wait in a small line but it moved fast and is cafe style. Ordering at the front and it only took a few minutes before our food was brought to the table nice and hot. I will be going back here!

We were very disappointed in this place, to say the least.. I had the Fried Chicken Rice Bowl. The rice was extremely salty, the sauce was too overpowering, and the chicken didn't taste good. My husband had the Pork Rice bowl and he wasn't happy with it either.. The pork and cheese combination was not good. The only good thing in this place was the chicken and corn soup. So, unless you're in the mood for soup, don't go here. Not worth it..

Great breakfast! Even went back the following day to get a breakfast sandwich and fresh OJ. Very friendly service, super clean and plenty of seating.

On tourist spot, beautiful outside and the inside was normal nothing special. Food was average, little bit over priced for a small town and the portion was smaller that regular. When I ordered mix green salad, I asked what in it and the girl couldn't even describe it. Was okay overall.

Fairly basic menu, but the food is okay! I stayed in Kitchen Kettle Village with my family, and breakfast at the Harvest Cafe was included in our stay. The staff is very nice, and they do a good job of keeping the tables clean.

Stopped into this place, super impressed with the burger. The cashier Ryan, was patient, professional, and so helpful. Will come back for the customer service alone! Thanks again Ryan!

This fast-casual option in Kitchen Kettle Village is perfect for a light and quick lunch while shopping. This visit was during COVID (reopening phase green). The request was to get a new cup each time you wanted a refill from the soda fountain. All employees were wearing masks and the same was asked of patrons, and from what I could see, everyone complied. The tables were quite spread out and social distancing was never an issue. Staff was friendly from the counter to the food delivery. The menu is pretty basic-hot dogs, sandwiches, some salads, and burgers. I ordered the roasted turkey sandwich (house roasted turkey breast, cranberry mayo, aged Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, fresh baguette bread), which was served with a bag of kettle chips. The turkey was fresh carved, the bread was fresh but a bit hard to chew; however, I LOVED the cranberry mayo-it brought a nice tartness to the sandwich. My mom ordered the hot ham and cheese (Local ham, Cheddar cheese, Kitchen Kettle Raspberry Honey Mustard on a grilled Martin's Potato Roll). She said it was simple yet very satisfying and she really enjoyed the twist of the raspberry honey mustard. My son had the hot dog kid's meal that came with applesauce in a cute little dinosaur card box. I tried a bite when he refused to eat it, and I can confirm there was nothing wrong with it according to my palette, and I actually found it more fresh than most hot dogs, more unprocessed. I'd recommend Harvest Cafe if you are looking for an alternative to a sit-down restaurant in Kitchen Kettle Village.

This simple cafe offers some decent lunch options - deli sandwiches, soups, hot dogs, and burgers. Compared to some of the amazing food you'll find in the village, it will seem pretty basic, but it's satisfying enough to get you ready for more shopping. The cranberry chicken salad wrap I had was good, and my daughter devoured her burger. My husband has a gluten allergy and usually doesn't eat when we visit new places like Kitchen Kettle Village, but he was impressed when the woman at the counter offered him a gluten-free menu. He didn't sample any, but he was tempted by all the desserts in the glass case at the counter - the key lime and lemon curd pies looked especially delicious, but alas, none of them was gluten free. We managed to pass on the sweets here in order to indulge in some ice cream and hand-rolled soft pretzels later. Prices were about average. The dining area was clean, as were the condiment and drink stations in the back of the restaurant. There's plenty of seating inside to accommodate even large groups.

Mostly it's where we stayed (shoutout to Airbnb), but also it was the fun and different experiences/places we visited around the Intercourse/Lancaster area like Stoltzfus Meats. This store doubles as a place to eat at as well as a spot to get plenty of (I bet you can guess) meats to cook up in the privacy of your own home. Normally, a place like Stoltzfus might have been somewhere we may not have even ventured into, but wanting to spend as much time in that aforementioned Airbnb, we saw the great Yelp score of this spot and what it offered in the way of food to cook, and so Stoltzfus was visited with a meaty mission in hand. What does Stoltzfus offer (beyond just saying meat)? Well they really do have a massive selection of different types of steak, pork, chicken, and even some non-meat meals (pizzas, mac and cheese, etc.). Some items come frozen which would have worked well for us had we been staying longer than a couple of days, but we decided to hit up the counter and get some fresh uncooked items that we could make for dinner (and breakfast). Once being helped (which was quick as there were many people working) the staff member was friendly (albeit we had a little confusion about the amount of sausage types we could buy) and we were able to purchase a few different flavored-sausages, some macaroni salad, and some breakfast sausages to make the next morning. After grabbing these we looked at some of the prepackaged meats and found some marinated chicken strips to get as well. Once back at the Airbnb, we cooked everything up and the meats definitely were tender and flavorful. The macaroni salad was also pretty solid. Though nothing blew me away, the meal we made was great for the price we spent. Best item was probably the breakfast sausages we had the next morning. They were a maple apple flavor and dang were they delicious. Overall, Stoltzfus Meats did the trick for our little Airbnb getaway. Perhaps not a place we would have ventured to if not staying in a location that warranted some potential cooking, I am still glad we got to experience Stoltzfus and would definitely return if we did end up back in that part of the Pennsylvania state with the need to make a meal. Even if I physically don't come back, I know my mind will at least continue to return here!

Ambience - I see that others described the decor as "vintage" and that would be an accurate description. The dining room and buffet stations are a little dimly lit. The price honestly is way too high for what you get. It was $41 with a drink for lunch, not typically what I'll spend and in this case way overpriced. I did like the carving station with the ham. The peel and eat shrimp was good and the fried chicken was good, but not warm and very limited on selection of the pieces. The sides were OK maybe they just weren't my thing. The entryway is really cool. The server only brought drinks so not a lot of interaction there. I think it has potential, but for some reason, I did not get the full five star lunch. Not impressed.

My daughter needed to use the restroom and also wanted to check some emails. So I waited for her to get done. I had already purchased gas there before. I went inside I told my daughter to get into the car. When she came back into the car she said the woman with her hair in a bun named Christina was given her nasty looks and staring her down. She also said she smiled at her to be friendly and she sneered at her. I went inside to use the bathroom myself as did my daughter. While I was in the bathroom someone barged in on me because I had neglected to close the door completely in my hurry to use the restroom. It was Christina the woman who had been on her cellphone when I entered and was on her cellphone when I left. And I went back in again to wash my cellphone cover that fallen out of the car. I asked Christina about a song while there if they could play music she said no. I went back into the bathroom to wash my hands and my cellphone cover and Christina went ahead of me said something under her breath and then I heard her calling the police on me. I overheard her say there's a woman and her daughter (by the way no one told her that was my daughter) here who have been in the parking lot for two hours. This is a Rutters mind you, where truckers sit in the parking lot and sleep in their trucks as well as other cars there. When I asked the other person there what the lady calling the polices name was she said it was Christina. And that she was calling the police on me because I had been in the parking lot for over two hours then she said there were 27 cameras inside and outside like it was a threat.I have spent hundreds of dollars at Rutters over the last four months. But I had never gone to this location in Strasburg Pa. Let me tell you if this isn't the most racist thing that's happened to me this week. I have never heard of a Rutters time limit . These women were blatant racist upset about someone keeping them from doing anything but playing on their phone and texting at work. They literally were doing nothing. And I am not going to have some racist woman use the police as her own personal weapon against me and my family because I'm a dark skinned person going into a gas station late at night. When I called to find out why she called the police on me Rose answered the phone. When I said is this rose she snidely said no this isn't Ro. She just said I'd been there over two hours and then the police got on the phone and I lt them know I'd be calling corporate. This was obviously bias racist behavior and I want to hold these two women accountable both Christina and Rose. I would love to hear back from corporate about this racist, prejudicial, differential behavior exhibited by their lack luster lazy employees.
