This bespoke neighborhood gem was a perfect spot for a yummy vegan friendly bite. Only a couple blocks away from my hotel, this place had friendly service, a solid menu and quirky interior design.

I am absolutely mind blown! I'm a vegetarian who has been trying to eat more vegan for a while, but I have never been able to find anything that was really really good. Now I have! Harvest is absolutely amazing! Cosy atmosphere, super friendly staff and owners, and the food is so so good, it's hard to believe that it's vegan. I had the vegan Gulasch, which is absolutely mind blowing. It tastes so real that I asked the poor waiter twice if it was actually vegan. Simply delicious and highly recommended! Addition: Just overheard the owner explaining his story to a couple of customers and now love this place even more! :-)

I came for dinner just as the sun was setting. The restaurant inside is warm and inviting, and the outdoor seating overlooks a quiet street that's perfect for early evening coffee or dinner. It was a little chilly once the sun had set, and they have blankets for you to use! I ordered a glass of Austrian rose and vegan schnitzel. Both were wonderful! They also had some vegan desserts. I ordered two for takeaway and unfortunately didn't write down the names, because they were both incredible! This place is a little gem

Harvest is a great place to eat vegetarian (also mainly vegan!!) food. It is truly amazing what you can make out of tofu!!! The food was really good, also for meateaters like me! Wy tryed the Gulasch which tastet surprisingly authentic like a "real" Gulasch, for those who still don't want to let go that only meat can be a proper meal. I have had the buffet with a great couliflower peanut soup... Friendly people have set up the place, you instantly notic that, there is much love in the interieur, its bright, open and welcoming! And when you are there - also try the rose lemonade!!!! It was one of my favorite discoverings there :)

Absolutely excellent vegan food, I would go as far to say miraculous interpretation... from what my colleague said was the tastiest vegan burger he had, to even the wiener schnitzel, homemade exotic lemonades, and desserts. Friendly owner and staff, who generously share their passion and knowledge.

    Breakfast at harvest!

This place was packed…read morewhen we arrived, as expected since it is one of the most well-known schnitzel spots in Vienna. I was worried this place was over-hyped and more of a place you have to "check off the list" than somewhere you want to eat because of the food. If you have any doubts like I did, forget about them because this was actually the best schnitzel we had on our trip! Their potato salad and tomato salads, also amazing! I love that they had option for their schnitzel - the chicken and original were our favorites! Definitely check this spot out when in Vienna - you won't be disappointed!

I had a reservation at 11:30am and there was already an insane line just to get in. Then once they opened the doors other groups of people completely ignore the line outside and just start rushing in. They're in absolutely no rush to seat you so don't have any hope that they'll let you in early. Once you're seated the service is pretty fast. The schnitzel is quite large and good for sharing. I had the original schnitzel with pork. It was thin and crispy but under seasoned in my opinion. The potato salad was the star for me I could have had one all to myself. It was creamy, a little sweet, and tangy. I also tried the soup with clear beef broth and sliced pancakes. Nothing memorable but a nice clean soup if you're in the mood.

The…read moresachsertorte is velvety smooth chocolate madness with whipped cream and a bit of apricot and raspberry jam. The apple strudel is a classic fruity standard baked to perfection. We chased it down with cappuccinos. Vollpension provides retirees with employment and social interaction. It also put to work their superior baking skills and incorporates their family recipes. Honestly, i think their deserts are superior to much of the commercial cafes around the city. Their prices are certainly better. Plus you get to support a great program so it's a sweet win-win all around. If you are looking for a non touristy cafe for a relaxing and yummy treat then try Vollpension. Highly recommend.

German for "full pension," Vollpension hires seniors to allow them to make extra money in their retirement/on top of their pension. Their website calls the restaurant "where old and young get together to eat cake." In that vein, the restaurant is filled with what I'd call Grandma chic: floral patterned chairs, mismatched chairs, mismatched plates, etc. Many of the dishes on the menu are named after Grandmas and Grandpas (who I assumed work or have worked at the restaurant). My friend had Mr. Karli's Cheese Masterpieces (cheese sandwich with Montafon cheese and a soft-boiled organic egg), and I had Grandpa Kurti's Good Cheese Wagon (2 spreads, Montafon cheese, mountain cheese, breakfast cheese triangles, seasonal vegetables, butter, jam, a roll, a slice of rye bread, and brioche). My friend also had a slice of cake (you walk down to the kitchen, take a look at what they have that day, and let them know which you want a slice of). We also had a couple of cappuccinos and orange juice with soda. The food was simple and delicious. The service and ambiance made it special. It really felt like we were at someone's home, and that made it a special meal on our trip. I'd happily return.
