A great local spot with beautiful ambiance, top-notch service, and delicious food. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and checked on entire meal at the right interval. Food came out quick and fair portion size. Overall a great dining experience and look forward to coming back!

Visited this establishment with my friend to catch up and chat after a workout class. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was pretty empty, which made us feel like we had the entire place to ourselves, perfect for girl talk. The menu was filled with so many options it was hard to choose. We both decided to get items that we could share, which worked out great. The wine glasses were so cute, large and fancy. The food didn't disappoint and the wine paired beautifully. Would definitely recommend and go back.

A Wednesday night in November our 4 Union College classmates (Class of '82) met at Shiraz. We arrived in time for Happy Hour and enjoyed Martini's and Wine (very reasonably priced) along with some bar apps, Falafel and Hummus ($5/each). Oh, the Martini was your choice of liquor too, not well liquor. I had the Grey Goose, slightly dirty, with plain olives. Oscar made a delicious Martini!! We were seated at a 4 top in the main dining room and were immediately greeted by our server. One of our classmates is an expert in wine so we let him choose from the expansive wine selections, a nice white to go along with our entrees as we all ordered the Branzino. Perfectly seared branzino with long slices of Zucchini to complement. We also ordered 2 of the special rice dishes. One with Fava Beans and the other with Cherries. They were both very good choices, a little dry, but tasty just the same. They have a location in NYC that I will try with my family on my next visit and we were very pleased with our night, our dinner, the service, and the quality of the food. Not sure I understand a 1* review for this fine establishment but restaurants, like art, are all in the eyes of the beholder. Judge for yourself. We did and decided without a doubt we would return.

Shiraz has a very welcoming environment. We went around opening time to enjoy the restaurant week menu which allowed us to enjoy different things off the menu. The saffron chicken kebab was delicious paired with the zucchini. Our server Domingo M. was very catering to us and made our meal more enjoyable. I would definitely come back again a different time to enjoy other dishes off the menu !

Shiraz Kitchen is a great Persian restaurant located on bustling Mamaroneck Avenue. We celebrated a friend's milestone birthday here and it was lovely. The ambiance is minimalist chic. The service is attentive and friendly. And the food is delicious. We started with orders of the mirza (super flavorful), the hummus, and the dolmeh, as well as the Mediterranean Crunch Salad for appetizers. Everyone but me ordered the lamb shank for the entree and you could just see the meat fall off the bone; they all sang its praises. I was the oddball who ordered the salmon, and it was a surprisingly huge portion that was cooked to perfection and served with grilled asparagus and a Tehran spice sauce on the side. There's not much parking along Mamaroneck Avenue, but there is a metered lot on Mitchell nearby. That lot, however, only allows up to 2 hours. I would definitely return to Shiraz. Check it out!

The perfect meal while visiting White Plains. Upscale without feeling fussy, the service was the great mix of homey feel with thoughtful suggestions and delicious food. We tried the dips, with fresh hot bread, the eggplant with goat cheese, falafel, and a great salad which looked like a Caesar but had a light mustardy-dressing which really impressed me. The kabob was great, but the star of the show was the rice - I had almond and pistachio which was amazing. It's difficult to save room for dessert but you must - fresh out of the oven baclaba with rose water and saffron ice cream. Amazing

I took an old friend to this restaurant last night. She was delighted by the delicious food and the warm inviting atmosphere. If you enjoy fresh aromatic delightful food then this is where you must go. The owner Reza is very welcoming. Our server Adeleh is friendly and very knowledgeable about the cuisine. I go to Shiraz on a cold rainy day or a hot summer night. Go enjoy this fabulous Persian cuisine. Casual dress and no judgement.

The ambiance was perfect for a date night. I really enjoyed this restaurant, the service, and the ambiance. The food was perfectly cooked. You can tell they use very fresh ingredients. I would have preferred a bit more seasoning but it was still very delicious. The wine list was impressive as well. I would definitely go back.

We had a fantastic meal and an all-around great experience. For appetizers, we shared the octopus, a Margherita pizza, and fresh tomatoes with mozzarella drizzled with balsamic. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Pork Chop Milanese and absolutely loved it -- the breading was perfectly crisp and seasoned just right. I also had a chance to try my wife's lobster ravioli, which was rich and delicious. The ambiance was comfortable and inviting, perfect for a special night out without feeling over-the-top. For dessert, we had cannolis with a light filling I hadn't tasted before -- not overly sweet, just smooth and really good. Our young Italian waiter was on top of his game all night. He was attentive, professional, and even humored most of my dad jokes. Highly recommend this spot. Go, eat fresh, drink moderately, and tip well.

I can honestly say this place hasn't lost their touch. The restaurant is dark and cozy with a fireplace in the back, making it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or nice lunch. The servers are all well-versed in the menu items and oyster selection. The restaurant usually has some great specials that are always worth trying out. This visit was somewhat brief so we only got mains. The special of the day was swordfish. They offer the option to choose your prep style so we each got the swordfish; I tried the lemon butter sauce and my boyfriend got the red pepper sauce. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. We also shared a side of the grilled asparagus which was perfectly cooked. A solid 10/10. Highly recommended for any foodies as this place also has some fantastic non-seafood options.

I had been meaning to try Kee's Oyster House for a long time based on their high ratings, but after finally visiting last night, I left disappointed. Atmosphere The restaurant is nicely designed, yet it strangely lacks ambiance and it was half full. There was either no music playing or it was so quiet that we couldn't hear it. The atmosphere felt sterile, further emphasized by the staff. Our waiter did not introduce himself or offer a greeting; he simply asked, "Still or sparkling water?" As I observed the room, I noticed that not a single staff member offered a smile or a friendly gesture. The entire team appeared visibly unhappy, and every interaction felt purely transactional, devoid of any genuine customer service. The Good: Appetizers The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. We enjoyed both the raw oysters and the Oysters Rockefeller. The raw oysters had a perfect balance of brininess and sweetness, and the Rockefeller was cooked perfectly with a creamy spinach sauce so good that we were tempted to order a second round. The Bad: Main Entrees Unfortunately, this is where Kee's fell short. My wife ordered the salmon, and when she asked about the preparation, the waiter brusquely informed her it is only served medium-rare, offering no room for preference. When she asked what side it came with, he gave her a pretentious, disdainful look and stated that they are an à la carte restaurant. She was forced to order a $14 side of poorly constructed, bitter onions and potatoes. While the salmon itself was flavorful, a restaurant charging 6-7 times the cost of ingredients needs to provide an experience that justifies the premium. My seafood risotto was equally disappointing. The portion size was shockingly small--containing only three baby scallops and four baby shrimp. Furthermore, the dish had an overpowering "fishy" taste that forced me to use the leftover mignonette sauce from our oysters just to make it palatable.

Parking took a little patience, as both the front spots and lot across the street were full, but we secured street parking on a second pass. From the outside it feels intimate, almost modest. Step inside and it opens up into a surprisingly spacious dining room, with a hallway leading to additional seating in the back. Service was attentive and polished throughout. They start you with eggplant caponata, a welcoming touch. We shared the Four Cheese Arancini and a grilled calamari and shrimp special, both well executed. I ordered the Bucatini all'Amatriciana, the daily special and one of my favorites, and it delivered with depth and balance. My wife's Pappardelle del Bosco, finished with truffle oil, was rich and aromatic. Espresso and a house-made amaro to close sealed the experience. A strong first visit. Our server didn't greet us and instead immediately asked what we wanted to order...less than five minutes after being seated, before we had even looked at the menus or been asked if we wanted drinks. We told him we'd like to start with drinks, and although he reluctantly took the order, he returned a few minutes later empty-handed and again asked us to place our full order, without even bringing the cocktails to the table first. It felt rushed and disorganized right from the start. Throughout the evening, every interaction felt pressured, despite the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, which made what should have been a relaxed birthday dinner feel uncomfortable. When our first round of drinks was finished, he never once came back to ask if we wanted another round, which was surprising given the setting and price point. The most surprising part was learning that our server was the owner/chef's son. When we casually asked who Padre Pio was, he couldn't answer, which felt like a missed opportunity to share the story behind the restaurant. As for the meal, the total came to about $500 for cocktails, wine, four appetizers (grilled calamari, baked clams, eggplant rollatini, and insalata di campania), and entrées including ravioli, spaghetti Padre Pio, chicken scarpariello, and branzino, with sides of mushrooms and escarole and beans. While some dishes were decent, others fell short--particularly the spaghetti Padre Pio, which was overly soft and lacked texture. The ravioli also tasted very similar to JB & Sons from Yonkers. The clams were mushy and overly saturated in oil. I did enjoy the eggplant rollatini. The complimentary eggplant caponata was oddly sweet. The menu itself was oddly presented. I've never seen chicken scarpariello listed with add-ons and separate pricing depending on whether you want it on or off the bone or with sausage, it felt more like ordering a pizza with toppings than ordering from what's supposed to be an elevated Italian menu. It cheapened the overall experience rather than enhancing it. Service issues continued throughout the meal. When our entrées were brought out, no serving utensils or extra plates were provided. When he later asked if we wanted new plates, he simply dropped a stack on the side of the table rather than setting them properly, which felt inattentive and unprofessional. Additionally, the bus staff were overly aggressive when clearing the table. At one point, a busboy dropped dirty utensils directly onto my friend's lap and into her purse that was next to me. To top it off, instead of offering us a dessert menu, a piece of cheesecake was simply brought out alongside the check. After spending this amount of money, especially for a birthday celebration, this felt dismissive and frankly rude, as it removed the opportunity to choose or enjoy dessert as part of the experience. Moments later, the lights were turned on, making it very clear we were no longer welcome to sit and enjoy the end of the evening. Overall, for the price point and the occasion, we expected a much more welcoming and attentive dining experience. Unfortunately, the service and pacing overshadowed the meal.
