    Pistachio ice cream and baklava
    Michael F.

We used to go here some years ago when it was in Elmsford. The new location in White Plains is more convenient for us, and the quality of the food is excellent. Persian cuisine is delicious, and there are many specialties on the menu, served efficiently and with joy. There is a large selection of wines: We prefer the Shiraz from Australia. Be aware that the prices are rather high, but also be aware that you're paying for quality cuisine. We got three appetizers, which prompted me to order a Persian noodle soup as my main dish, and it was plenty, though my wife let me taste her beef kabob, which made it all the more satisfying. We could have skipped dessert, but we enjoyed the pistachio ice cream and baklava combo.

Visited this establishment with my friend to catch up and chat after a workout class. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was pretty empty, which made us feel like we had the entire place to ourselves, perfect for girl talk. The menu was filled with so many options it was hard to choose. We both decided to get items that we could share, which worked out great. The wine glasses were so cute, large and fancy. The food didn't disappoint and the wine paired beautifully. Would definitely recommend and go back.

A Wednesday night in November our 4 Union College classmates (Class of '82) met at Shiraz. We arrived in time for Happy Hour and enjoyed Martini's and Wine (very reasonably priced) along with some bar apps, Falafel and Hummus ($5/each). Oh, the Martini was your choice of liquor too, not well liquor. I had the Grey Goose, slightly dirty, with plain olives. Oscar made a delicious Martini!! We were seated at a 4 top in the main dining room and were immediately greeted by our server. One of our classmates is an expert in wine so we let him choose from the expansive wine selections, a nice white to go along with our entrees as we all ordered the Branzino. Perfectly seared branzino with long slices of Zucchini to complement. We also ordered 2 of the special rice dishes. One with Fava Beans and the other with Cherries. They were both very good choices, a little dry, but tasty just the same. They have a location in NYC that I will try with my family on my next visit and we were very pleased with our night, our dinner, the service, and the quality of the food. Not sure I understand a 1* review for this fine establishment but restaurants, like art, are all in the eyes of the beholder. Judge for yourself. We did and decided without a doubt we would return.

A great local spot with beautiful ambiance, top-notch service, and delicious food. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and checked on entire meal at the right interval. Food came out quick and fair portion size. Overall a great dining experience and look forward to coming back!

Jasmine adding my shot of Bailey's to the scrumptious cappuccino!

Had a fantastic 1st experience tonight! I had no idea this gem had been here for so long. It's beautiful inside without feeling "stuffy". The bar is long and sitting there was a great experience. Basically because of Jasmine! She was phenomenal! All of her drink recommendations were PERFECT! AND she is a talented Pourer! She was welcoming, attentive and ther service was top notch. The food was great as well. The pomegranate wings...cooked to ABSOLUTE perfection! Now...the outstanding star of the night was the cappuccino! It was the BEST I have ever had, hands down! I will DEFINITELY be back! Also, my friend said the sushi was fresh and delicious!

Shiraz has a very welcoming environment. We went around opening time to enjoy the restaurant week menu which allowed us to enjoy different things off the menu. The saffron chicken kebab was delicious paired with the zucchini. Our server Domingo M. was very catering to us and made our meal more enjoyable. I would definitely come back again a different time to enjoy other dishes off the menu !

Shiraz Kitchen is a great Persian restaurant located on bustling Mamaroneck Avenue. We celebrated a friend's milestone birthday here and it was lovely. The ambiance is minimalist chic. The service is attentive and friendly. And the food is delicious. We started with orders of the mirza (super flavorful), the hummus, and the dolmeh, as well as the Mediterranean Crunch Salad for appetizers. Everyone but me ordered the lamb shank for the entree and you could just see the meat fall off the bone; they all sang its praises. I was the oddball who ordered the salmon, and it was a surprisingly huge portion that was cooked to perfection and served with grilled asparagus and a Tehran spice sauce on the side. There's not much parking along Mamaroneck Avenue, but there is a metered lot on Mitchell nearby. That lot, however, only allows up to 2 hours. I would definitely return to Shiraz. Check it out!

The perfect meal while visiting White Plains. Upscale without feeling fussy, the service was the great mix of homey feel with thoughtful suggestions and delicious food. We tried the dips, with fresh hot bread, the eggplant with goat cheese, falafel, and a great salad which looked like a Caesar but had a light mustardy-dressing which really impressed me. The kabob was great, but the star of the show was the rice - I had almond and pistachio which was amazing. It's difficult to save room for dessert but you must - fresh out of the oven baclaba with rose water and saffron ice cream. Amazing

The ambiance was perfect for a date night. I really enjoyed this restaurant, the service, and the ambiance. The food was perfectly cooked. You can tell they use very fresh ingredients. I would have preferred a bit more seasoning but it was still very delicious. The wine list was impressive as well. I would definitely go back.

We ordered the chicken sandwich, the spicy chicken sandwich, and the house burger. Overall, the food was good. It was an extremely hot day, so we were looking forward to ordering sangria. Unfortunately, even though it's listed on the menu, they weren't serving it, which was a little disappointing. Sad to say, after being loyal customers, this place turned us off tonight permanently. I placed a large anniversary dinner order by phone, including tahdig ($12). During the call, I specifically asked if the rice came with tomato and onion and was told no it comes with the tahdig that I ordered. So yes it comes with the order. I was also asked whether I wanted the gheymeh on top or on the side of the tahdig. I chose on the side. When I got home, the order didn't match what was discussed: The tahdig wasn't traditional rice tahdig like me or my wife have had countless times. It was more like this brownish, sheet-like, crumble with a few flecks of rice on the crumble, but not crispy. Not Persian tahdig. The gheymeh was missing entirely, despite being discussed on the call. The tomato and onion that I was told were included were not there. The fesenjan had only a few pieces of chicken. The ghormeh sabzi was okay, but pretty underwhelming in flavor. I called politely to clarify about the missing tahdig (for next time) and was told someone would call me back. No one did. When I called again an hour later, the same person who took my original order responded in a dismissive and accusatory tone, unilaterally escalating her tone and voice immediately, almost angrily accusing me of daring to call, and told me that the tahdig does not come with gheymeh, and tomato and onion aren't included either. (This is the opposite of what I was told when ordering). She repeatedly interrupted me, talking over me, instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue. We've been coming here since moving from Southern California a few years ago, whenever we felt homesick and wanted some Persian food. The food has always been....OK....nothing like Persian restaurants in Toronto or Southern California, but we continued ordering out of nostalgia and lack of other options. However, this experience today, incorrect information, missing items, no follow-up, and then, the way the situation was handled was our final turn off. Disappointing, especially for what was meant to be a special occasion. We won't be returning, nor will our visiting Persian family or friends.
