I came here recently for lunch with my family. I had the prosciutto panini. All the paninis come with a side of salad, which was very good. The panini had prosciutto, mozzarella, and tomato. Food and service thanks to Gio! Very busy night it looked like a full house but Gio was on top it. Early I saw him watching over the entire room and later when he asked about my dish and I said was disappointed with the very small mussels he agreed and brought the appropriate size ones out in addition! Happy Hour FTW! We stopped by to have an after-work drink, and we loved it! We sidled up to the bar ordered a half dozen raw oysters, the tuna tartare, and the fig bruschetta. Last night was Christmas eve. But not for me and my family of 7. The owner himself decided me and my precious family would not be allowed to enjoy ourselves this christmas eve. He gave us the run around until a small 4 person table opened up. He added some chairs (which seem to be made of the perfect combination of materials to make my ass feel like its going to fall off) to a 4 person table. So my family of 7 are now sitting at a table for 4. We were just greatful to be sitting. He offered us cheap wine to try to win us over. My grandfather was satisfied saving a few bucks on is pinot grigio. But that satisfaction slowly melted away and we proceed to wait 2 whole hours for our meal. Yes. 2 whole hours. The salads came out at the hour 45 mark. Two. Whole. Hours. Was the food good? Sure. It was "good". Would i brag about it? No. The service at this restaurant blew me away. Ive never had to be so self reliant. If I needed water all I had to do was beg for it. If I needed silverware all I had to do was stand up and hunt around the restaurant to find a table with extra utensils. Table getting too cluttered from unused plates and glasses? I was faced with the thrilling challenge of stacking and maneuvering. Truly a night of valuable lessons. This restaurant gives you a true sense of independence. To wrap this up id like to address the owner himself. I believe he was the owner. The man with glasses and troubled eyes. He held a great attitude throughout the entire 3 hours my family was trapped there. While we begged and pleaded for atleast a scrap of food. He kept his composure and promptly reassured us "5 more minutes". Ive never seen so many 5 minutes in my life. But he had a lot of them. I respect him for it. Been coming here for years but won't anymore. Power went out and we were told we had to leave our credit card number to pay for the bill or pay in cash or else we couldn't leave. Came here for lunch last Friday. I heard dinner can get really busy and loud so I can only speak from my linch experience. The staff promptly greeted and showed me to where my party was already seated. The restaurant seemed cozy and nice enough where you could dress up or casual. The server made some good suggestions, I ended up going with the bolognese which I thoroughly enjoyed! I make my own pasta from scratch frequently and have traveled all throughout Italy so I am quite picky. The fettuccini noodles were cooked perfectly al dente and I liked they were thinner than some places I have been. Sauce was perfect and not too acidic which some sauces can often be. The portion sizes are quite large so definitely enough for leftovers which I always appreciate. The pricing is definitely more on the pricier end which I expected but it was also worth the money for what seemed like quality! The presentation of all our dishes were so beautiful too. I went here with a group of people (two of whom were regulars) and didn't take out my phone for any photos of the food, nor did I write down what we ordered. What I can say is the tapas are fantastic! My main dish, Pappardelle Scarpariello, was decent. It didn't blow me away but the serving was large so I saved half of it for lunch the next day. The venue was quite loud for dinner and we had to talk even louder to hear each other. Despite drinking a ton of water throughout the night (which the wait staff kept filled along with placing pitchers on the table) I still left with a raw throat. Bit disappointed that the brunch menu on their website (last updated Aug, 2022) was not up to date. We went for the bottomless brunch drinks only to find that they are now family style. This means a bottle of champagne for the table with the mixer you request for $18.50. The brunch food prices were also much higher than listed online and for two it came out to around $70 before tip. An example was lobster benedict was $19.50 online but in reality was $24. Lobster was okay, bit chewy but there was a decent amount. Eggs were poached well & hollandaise sauce was made well. Served with arugula salad in a light lemon dressing & fried potato pieces. Waffle, $17.50 was served with strawberries and blackberries and two eggs with two sausage links. Syrup served was "Chef's Quality" pre-packaged breakfast syrup which I was surprised by as the restaurant seemed fancier than that! Flavor of waffle was pretty good not the usual diner batter. My waiter said he told the manager and never did. we approached the manager when we received our bill. Not only did he not take off my birthday cake. Which I did not even want after seeing a bug in my food. He only took off the meal that I ate. The manager offered us all free dessert. However, I did not eat it. My guests and husband took them home. very disappointed as I came Christmas Eve and the food was phenomenal. I think I am more upset that the waiter lied about telling the manager about the bug in my food and also disgusted that the only thing they took off the bill was my meal. The manager tried to offer us drinks at first. I had 3 young children with us under the age of 5, and I advised the manager. We were already here for 3 hours. It's time for us to go home it's late. I've visited this place a handful of times and each time it has been nothing short of amazing! They have a wide selection of both appetizers and meals along with a extensive wine selection. Literally the only negative is that parking is limited. For appetizers, I would highly recommend the selezione (charcuterie board). They offer 3 sizes, each give you a generous portion if you're with a group. Oysters on the half shell, truffle mac & cheese, and meatballs are all very good as well. For wine, do not sleep on the montepulciano if you like a good red. Their rioja is also very good. For entrees, we basically visit specifically for the grilled baby lamb chops because they are beyond excellent. I have also enjoyed the spicy shrimp and scallops.
