Harvey's is a great addition to Syracuse. It's a location where the staff becomes good friends in a matter of seconds. It's a large place with an upstairs that could be a great place for a party. Definitely a fun area. We had a gf pizza which was so tasty my husband may prefer the type. Thin crust, spicy tomato sauce, basil, and clumps of mozzarella. They have mixed drinks, wine, and pour your own beer wall. It was quiet when we arrived but a game came on and the noise level went up. Quieter seats may be found upstairs. read more

I just want to start off my saying I come here all the time and have had nothing but good experiences until now. Me and my group of girlfriends came in the other night for drinks and were met with nothing but rudeness from one of the bartenders wearing a mask. She told my friends that we could only get one drink, even though the other bartender was letting us order two at a time. She later then made fun of my friend who called the "berry bramble" the "blueberry bramble" and told her she was going to make her a dirty Shirley instead and still charged her for the berry bramble. She told her she was "lucky her ID wasn't expired" whatever that means (she's 22). Safe to say this experience has tainted this great spot for me and if I were to go again I would avoid the women in the mask with brown hair unless you want to have a bad experience. read more

Came here to meet up with friends and loved the atmosphere! This beer hall has a pour wall where you open a tab and they give you a card to use to pour your own beer and they charge you per ounce. The wall had a variety of beers, maybe about two dozen. There's also a bar though with wine and other drinks. For food, Toss & Fire pizzas can be ordered via QR code or in person. I got a pickle pizza which was a thin crust wood fired pizza. The toppings were delicious! We came in the winter but I'd love to come back in the spring or summer to enjoy the outdoor area. I adore Harvey's Garden! I don't like beer personally, but that has never impacted my experience. Every time I've gone, there have been at least 2 ciders on tap, and they're always interesting and delicious. I love that they showcase different local breweries that I may not have heard of otherwise. They also have seasonal cocktails, and every one I've tried has been a hit. As for food, I love the food trucks, but my heart belongs to Toss n Fire. I love their wood fired pizzas, especially their various specials. The one detriment for my own personal experience is that it is a very kid friendly establishment, which I wasn't expecting for a beer garden. This really is a great spot to watch a game if you have to bring small children, like we did. They are pretty occupied and have plenty of space to run around. I've now been to Harvey's Garden a few times since my first review. They now have a variety of beer glasses, which I like. A big glass could have you pouring more without realizing it. The smaller glasses will automatically get you to pour less. I like that they have Toss & Fire on-site, plus food trucks. Check Street Food Finder to know what trucks are their and to see their menus. On our last visit, we noticed that there is now a speakeasy on the first floor called the Cabinet Room. This is listed as a members-only space, although it is not clear how to become a member. When we asked about it, a person at the bar upfront said to just go in. Perhaps a bit more info somewhere? I still find Harvey's to be too loud. They should consider how to add some sound proofing or sound dampening. Harvey's should update their FAQ to (1) tell folks what happens if they leave without closing out their tab (drink card) and (2) to state that they do not have an elevator. While the amenities are the same on the first floor, if a group wants to meet upstairs, they should know that it could limit who can attend. I'm glad that Harvey's is doing well. I hope it sparks some other places to open up nearby. read more

Always a fun time and the beer and beverage variety attracts all different people. The service is always great and always super helpful when a new person comes in to learn the beer wall. The convenience of pouring your own glass is the best! I can have as much or as little as I want. Went with a friend the Syracuse Beer Fest they hosted and it was a great free event!! Always love an event where you're able to try something new for free!!! A few different local breweries and always fun to chat with them and to learn what's going on at their sites. Harvey's Garden is a great addition to Syracuse. I saw self-pour beer wall places popping up in other cities and was so excited when this one opened. You preload a card and then can swipe it to pour from the taps on the walls. Thus, you can try a few different beers if you'd like. They also have coolers with a great selection. Beer is a little pricey but it is craft and high quality and you are paying a bit for the experience. A lot of other businesses come in to host events, from fitness classes to craft classes, markets and DJ parties and more. (Once popped by an Oktoberfest that had a dachshund race.) In warm weather the patio is great, tables and some lawn games. And, they often host food trucks. (Or at least they did before the Toss n Fire satellite location opened? I believe they have the food trucks in the summer still though, since this building was conceived in part as a place where food trucks could vend in lack of many other options close to downtown. The space is HUGEEEEE, with a massive upstairs as well as lots of room downstairs and outside. It's a great place for groups and private parties, and also is kid and dog friendly. read more

I met up with some friends at Harvey's Garden for drinks and to catch up. I've only stop by once just to pick up food from a food truck that was there, so I didn't see the inside. What a wonderful place, I got three cocktails throughout the evening. They all were delicious, I'll be back to try some of their beer selection. I'm not a huge beer drinker. They had two sides to order drinks which was nice. The service quick and friendly. Plenty of seating indoors and they had the outdoor tables and chairs as well with different yard games for guests. I didn't see the upstairs but my friend said it was more seating and games. It wasn't too loud inside, you can hold a conversation which was nice. We went on a night that had no food truck scheduled but luckily Toss n Fire has opened a third location inside Harvey's. We ordered pizza with our drinks. I definitely head back, it was a nice place to meet up with friends with good food and drinks. They usually have events going on and different food trucks. It's family friendly just in case you can't get a sitter, won't feel judged(at least I hope not lol, I have two littles). read more

I love how big the space is and can accommodate so many people and host many events. I have not loved the cocktails I have had here but I really enjoy the beer wall. Being able to sample as much or as little of different local beers. The events I have attended here have always been fun, and good service too. Such a neat place with a fun atmosphere. They have a wall of drafts and a ton of can beers/cider/seltzer to choose from. The draft wall is very modern so you use a specific card to insert and charge your tab. There's a lot of seating as it's two levels. It was really busy when we went yesterday with lots of people milling about. There's also a toss and fire right inside which is perfect for when you get hungry. The pizza I had hit the spot. I would go back there just for that. There's also a speakeasy on the first level that's neat too. This is a bit smaller as expected. I tried some of their seasonal cocktails that were well-crafted although a bit pricey. The only one I wouldn't suggest is the espresso martini. Harvey's is fun- they have multiple options for seating, from the more private (but big!) upstairs area, to the indoor ground level where the action is, to the relaxed outside. It's a great spot to get a beer, and try something new. While they have the fill-your-own taps, they also offer a good case of canned beers, ciders, and cocktails. There are wine and cocktails available to order at the bar too. Food - there is a regular rotation of food trucks parked outside. Toss n Fire now has a regular spot inside where they serve shareable pizzas. Harvey's hosts a good rotation of events from trivia nights to non-profit benefits with local organizations. There's something for everyone as far as activities. This place gets points for having a nice rack- a nice bike rack that is! You can get at least 8 bikes on it (more if people are friendly). It's also right nearby a dog park and a skate park. read more

We went to Harvey's Garden with a local foodie group and had about 35 people. The place was loud, the high ceilings carry sound. The space is interesting, with a ton of open space upstairs that I wish could be utilized for gaming or something... Our group had a corner reserved near the tap wall which was nice. A couple of us got there early to feel it all out and it's relatively simple to operate once you get the run down. You go to the bar to show your ID and get a pour card. you then select a glass, and then a beer. Put your card in the flashing card slot and start your pour. It comes out pretty fast, and make sure to tilt your glass to avoid too much Head on your beer. We deduced that we were not paying for all the foam because pours were only about 3-5$ when the glasses weren't full of liquid vs foam, which made the pricing very reasonable. It was cool to be able to try multiple beers for just dollars. Food situation is that the food trucks are on Syracuse Street Finder so you can order from your table, however there is a menu board for specials inside that aren't on the app so you have to go to the truck to order just as a heads up. PB&J Lunchbox does a great job. The assistant general manager was very nice and helpful and the staff were quick to pick up a glass that fell and broke. The AGM brought a round of their house margaritas to our tables so we could try out their cocktails as well. It was super good. If you don't like any of the beers on tap, they also have a big selection of cans! Overall, good experience but super loud. read more

A welcome addition to the neighborhood! Stopped in for an hour after work on Friday. The place was already filling up. Lots of space. Bright, welcoming and super easy to get your samples of beer. The cocktail menu looked intriguing, but I will wait until next time to try one. About 16 taps of local craft beer (plus one cider and a few crap massed produced beers for the less adventurous). Two food trucks were parked outside, but I had dinner to make at home, so again, next time. Super friendly staff and loads of room in this huge building. I love the ever changing draft selections. I am not a big drinker and I love that I can pour myself however much I want. My favorites are the Sours and there have been at least two when I've visited. The selections cover a large amount of breweries both local and out of state. There is also a beverage cooler with a variety of canned drinks, teas, soda, hard seltzer, beer and sours. They also have a bar serving cocktails. I had a bit of confusion with the taps and they were very helpful to clear everything up and make sure all went well. The outside area is nice with high tables, picnic tables and regular tables. There are umbrellas for shade and lawn games to play. They have large coolers and cups inside and out to get water, a big plus! They have a rotation of wonderful food trucks, and last night was Mamacita's Puerto Rican food truck! TNF has a good menu to choose from which pairs well and as always good flavors with gluten free and veggie options. Close to the University, downtown Syracuse, short drive from suburbs, and lots of fresh air and greenery in the summer. Food trucks rotate through in the summer but liking the standby of TNF as an option. 2 floors so don't let the packed parking lot scare you off there is on street parking as well. We went to Harvey's garden right after it opened. I wanted to like this place more then I did. When you walk in the place is huge, there is an upstairs and downstairs with many tables. Downstairs there is a small bar and beer wall for pouring your own beers. The staff did a good job of explaining how everything worked. Pouring your own beer was interesting and a different experience, actually harder then you would think. The space I feel is underutilized but I feel as time goes on this will improve. There is so much space that it would make sense to add like cornhole or other games. I even think a large drop down screen would make tons of sense for sporting events and this would bring lots of business. Lastly there is tons of room for an area for music acts. I think these things alone would make this place that much better. Currently there is a giant Jenga but it's kinda put away on the corner. It will be interesting to see how they develop over time and when there is lots of food trucks. read more

Great place to go! We love the fun atmosphere with things for the kids to do, tasty food from the food trucks, and lots of drinks to choose from. This winter we came here and were upstairs by a kids play area with lots of things to do and TVs to watch the SU game. We just came here again and chose to be outside in their back yard area. They have huge picnic tables that held our large group. It was super sunny and hot. They could use a few more umbrellas. They also had cornhole, giant connect 4, and giant Jenga. A DJ played music on the back patio area later in the evening and that added to the fun time. No one danced, but I could see that it could turn into a dance party if you brought your own dancing friends with you. Their cocktails were so-so. I had a peach-tini for $12 and was not impressed. The beer wall is fun though. Even though I'm not a huge beer fan, being able to taste some in small portions was perfect. They also offered a hard seltzer and hard cider on the beer wall. I did not hear any alerts upstairs prior to 15 minutes. No alternatives of where to watch the games were given and we were just told we had to leave and were given what I perceived as a dismissive "sorry" by owner. super cool concept for a brewery where you get to pour your own beer. you first go up the the bar and get a card attached to your name and credit card so that you can tap it at the beer wall and it goes on your tab. pretty good variety of drafts, i will say they're slightly expensive (you pay by ounce, and some are over $1 per ounce). the bartender was super nice and helpful while explaining the whole system to us, and they have a pretty good cocktail selection too, i just didn't try any of them. harvey's has lots of board games you can play too, big open area, great for groups. read more

As much or as little as you want, trying as many beers as you want?! What an amazingly fun concept. And a solid selection of interesting beers. Like a Coca Cola freestyle machine for adults! I had a blast sampling tiny pours of about 8 different beers (maybe a bit too much fun....). You pick up a card to scan in each machine and they charge per ounce so you can really drink as much or as little was you want. The staff were great but the whole concept is good in theory but very poor in practice. On my visit the CO2 pressure was high so when pouring a beer you'd have to pour head off but you're paying for every ounce! I essentially was throwing beer away. I know how to pour a beer btw. In addition, we were with a group and I started a single tab. By the time we were ready for round two they were cutting us off and making me stand in line to prove I wasn't binging on my account which was a 10 minute wait in line.
