My friend and I visited the new Willow Rock location in Cicero, and boy was it busy on a Wednesday evening! There was a huge birthday party, the lot was full of cars, but we went in! The entrance is kind of awkward because you walk into this big building that feels like an office building and there's a lady to the right that greeted us and told us that the bar is all the way in the back and the food is in between there and here. That I thought felt very weird and disjointed. But we grabbed a menu on the way through and sat at the bar. It was very air conditioned and I really appreciated that. You couldn't hear the large party from the bar Even though the entrance to the greenhouse was open and right behind us. They had a 1911 cider that I liked, the mango pineapple one, so I was excited to get that. They also have a large variety of their own beers on tap. But what we came for was the food! The menu has a variety of options for shareables, delicious looking sandwiches and pizzas that I saw the cooks in the back making the dough themselves. My friend and I ordered three of the shareables to try a collection of things. And we were not let down. You can order the food at the bar, but they take your phone number and your texted when the food is ready to go pick it up at the window that we had walked past earlier. That was really bizarre, honestly. Despite the huge party going on, we got our food nearly instantly. We ordered the charcuterie, the ahi tuna, and the pork belly bites (those took a little longer to come out). All the items that we got came on paper plates and paper containers in general. We thought that was kind of interesting of a choice for as classy as the food appeared to be considering. The pork belly bites stole the show for sure. They were so good I couldn't stop eating them. My friend loves the ahi tuna, it had a lot of flavor in the noodles were very flavorful. Our batch was too saucy and almost leaks through the paper plate but it was tasty. Charcuterie was fun, it had pita chips which I love, and came with some sort of jam and mustard which complemented the meats and cheeses very well. It was an assortment of cheeses and not just the typical cheddar and pepper jack. There was some nuance to the flavorings. And who puts mortadella on a paper plate? Well, Willow Rock does. And it was delicious. The greenhouse is beautiful and there is a huge patio outside that appeared to be dog friendly. Overall, the experience was great. The awkward ordering kind of makes me not put a five star, but they did just open so I am sure that things will get smoother. I will be back! I hope they keep ciders on the menu.

The food, the beer, and the service were awesome. Not sure why this place isn't busier, but I highly recommend!

It was my first time here, we came to see my husband's cousin play out. It's a cute and fun place,…read morethere's plenty of outdoor seating and they have patio heaters so you can still enjoy without freezing your butt off lol. Also a tent section. The inside was cozy and decent amount of seating. I saw a few people playing card/board games, it seems like a great place to come and wind down. I'm not a huge beer drinker but wanted to try what they offered here. I opted for the flight and you can select from beer and cider(4/$12). They were great, I opted for two of theirs they brew and two guests brewery they showcase. I enjoyed all, I tend to lean towards fruit base beers lol. The price and size of samples were plenty for me. They don't have a kitchen but we came when Cousin's Maine Lobster truck was there. My husband ordered some Shrimp Tacos and Tots. It looks like they have food trucks available when possible. Overall we'll definitely come back and recommend it friends.

The ladies running the establishment are friendly and great service! The Cousins Lobster Truck was on site this visit and draws a good crowd. I ordered my beverage and brought to the back parking lot. The brewery was full, by the time we received our lobster orders plenty of seating to enjoy our food! First time I have sat at the bar and the stools are super heavy and on a spring, you can bounce around. They have a shop where you can purchase Freight Yard Gear and host a plethora of fun events!

Def will be back if/when back in town. We loved the Reuben bites and the Mac and cheese. I would have loved a salad without iceberg lettuce.

It's been a while since I'd last been but everything is as amazing as I remembered…read more I've seen them advertise their monthly "flight night" events for some time but never actually had been to one. When I saw an espresso martini and cake pairing, I knew I had to pull the trigger. Met up with some friends and we all ordered food beforehand to offset the impending sugar rush. I'd had their naan pizza in the past and loved it, so this time I went with the one that had caramelized onions and goat cheese. AMAZING. Crispy crust, melty cheese, tangy onions and the perfect amount of everything in every bite. Then onto the main event: the flights! The staff brought over our cake and drinks and were so great about explaining what to pair together. (There was also a card) Desserts were a carrot cake with the most impossibly airy icing, a pistachio cheesecake with chocolate ganache, and a chocolate cake with a light nutella icing. I'm usually a carrot cake girlie and while I enjoyed it, the cheesecake was actually my favorite. Just the perfect pistachio flavor and a wonderful consistency -- so, so smooth. Our waitress told us that the owner is the one that makes all of the desserts too. A multi-talented queen. As far as the martinis, my favorite was the affogato one. These flight-nights are one-off events and the items aren't normally on the menu, so if you see one that looks extra appealing, get yourself there! I've been for normal service too though, and honestly, never have had a misfire here. One thing I especially love is the option to order drinks in 5oz pours, a godsend for lightweights like me. Ambiance, food, drinks, all excellent.
