My friend and I visited the new Willow Rock location in Cicero, and boy was it busy on a Wednesday evening! There was a huge birthday party, the lot was full of cars, but we went in! The entrance is kind of awkward because you walk into this big building that feels like an office building and there's a lady to the right that greeted us and told us that the bar is all the way in the back and the food is in between there and here. That I thought felt very weird and disjointed. But we grabbed a menu on the way through and sat at the bar. It was very air conditioned and I really appreciated that. You couldn't hear the large party from the bar Even though the entrance to the greenhouse was open and right behind us. They had a 1911 cider that I liked, the mango pineapple one, so I was excited to get that. They also have a large variety of their own beers on tap. But what we came for was the food! The menu has a variety of options for shareables, delicious looking sandwiches and pizzas that I saw the cooks in the back making the dough themselves. My friend and I ordered three of the shareables to try a collection of things. And we were not let down. You can order the food at the bar, but they take your phone number and your texted when the food is ready to go pick it up at the window that we had walked past earlier. That was really bizarre, honestly. Despite the huge party going on, we got our food nearly instantly. We ordered the charcuterie, the ahi tuna, and the pork belly bites (those took a little longer to come out). All the items that we got came on paper plates and paper containers in general. We thought that was kind of interesting of a choice for as classy as the food appeared to be considering. The pork belly bites stole the show for sure. They were so good I couldn't stop eating them. My friend loves the ahi tuna, it had a lot of flavor in the noodles were very flavorful. Our batch was too saucy and almost leaks through the paper plate but it was tasty. Charcuterie was fun, it had pita chips which I love, and came with some sort of jam and mustard which complemented the meats and cheeses very well. It was an assortment of cheeses and not just the typical cheddar and pepper jack. There was some nuance to the flavorings. And who puts mortadella on a paper plate? Well, Willow Rock does. And it was delicious. The greenhouse is beautiful and there is a huge patio outside that appeared to be dog friendly. Overall, the experience was great. The awkward ordering kind of makes me not put a five star, but they did just open so I am sure that things will get smoother. I will be back! I hope they keep ciders on the menu.

The food, the beer, and the service were awesome. Not sure why this place isn't busier, but I highly recommend!

This was the first time visiting. A very quaint little cafe. Ordered the Gus breakfast sandwich…read more Perfectly cooked and the flavors complemented one another so well! Ordered a simple coffee. Did not get a refill, not sure if they're offered. The place is small and I would say that was the only thing that made it a bit wonky to walk around. One customer gave me a glaring side eye when I walked past her table twice- I know! How dare I do that!? You order at the counter and a number tower card is given to place on your table. Food was brought out quickly. I would go back to try something else.

When I read over the reviews, everyone raved about their baked goods - so of course I ordered the bread pudding in addition to a rosemary chickpea salad with grilled chicken. The salad was like a take on Thanksgiving stuffing with chickpeas. It was good a little thick but has good flavor. The grilled chicken did not have any flavor to it but once mixed into the salad it was good. The stand out for me was definitely the bread pudding. It had layers of fresh apples in between and was very moist. I really enjoyed this and even cold it was still very delicious. They mentioned to me that the apples were from a local farm, which I loved. Definitely recommend checking out the baked goods for sure.

We arrived to a busy atmosphere that quieted down throughout the night. We started with cocktails which were strong and delicious. The brussel sprout appetizer was to die for, who knew that brussel sprouts go well with blue cheese! I ordered the salmon dish which was incredible. My friend enjoyed the Greek chicken dish. We were disappointed we didn't have enough room for dessert so we'll just have to come back! Other notes: the service was friendly and there was extra parking across the street if necessary. I can't wait to be back to try their specials and seasonal menus

I read up on the menu and discovered they offered lamb chops which is one of my absolute favourites. A taste of home for me! Friendly and efficient staff welcomed us and showed us to our table. So far so good. Very nice young woman looked after us. My wife ordered the rigatoni and I had the chops. She loved her rigatoni so much she's finishing it off 2 days later and still loving it. Sadly my dish was a bit of a disappointment. My two large chops were extremely fatty. It's the kind you simply can't cut through on a slippery plate. Trying to separate what little meat there was from the fat was impossible so I had to give up and bring it home to a cutting board and an extremely sharp knife. I haven't tried to eat it yet but it looks as fatty as the first. Both had been totally covered by a condiment that I think should have been served in a separate container to allow the diner to regulate the amount desired. The base was a pilf which made trying to cut the chops even more difficult because every time the meat or the knife slipped, the table was showered with grains....all a bit slapstick....! As I previously said, my wife loved her meal and the previous visit was epic so I hate to criticise but I'm just trying to be honest and fair. I think $45 for a couple of very fatty chops with not much meat and smothered in a vinaigrette you might not like is a bit cheeky... In different circumstances I would have sent it back. Oh well, you live and learn...

The inside was cozy and decent amount of seating. I saw a few people playing card/board games, it seems like a great place to come and wind down. I'm not a huge beer drinker but wanted to try what they offered here. I opted for the flight and you can select from beer and cider(4/$12). They were great, I opted for two of theirs they brew and two guests brewery they showcase. I enjoyed all, I tend to lean towards fruit base beers lol. The price and size of samples were plenty for me. They don't have a kitchen but we came when Cousin's Maine Lobster truck was there. My husband ordered some Shrimp Tacos and Tots. It looks like they have food trucks available when possible. Overall we'll definitely come back and recommend it friends.

First time I have sat at the bar and the stools are super heavy and on a spring, you can bounce around. They have a shop where you can purchase Freight Yard Gear and host a plethora of fun events!
