Aurora Brewing Co.'s Syracuse taproom has taken over the space at 620 Ulster St. previously occupied by by Now & Later, a bar and bottle shop that relocated to downtown Syracuse. But this is not your typical Tipp Hill Irish pub: It's a taproom for a craft brewery based in the heart of the Finger Lakes. Aurora Brewing's new taproom offers a dozen of its own beers on tap, plus bottled beers. The beer list ranges from lagers to hoppy pale ales, along with stouts, fruit beers, sours and more. Aurora also has ciders, seltzers and ready-to-drink cocktails. It has a cooler stocked with packaged beer to go. The food menu includes burgers, wings, sandwiches and Detroit-style pizzas which they refer to as "Shea Deep-Dish" style. We recently met up with some friends for dinner at Aurora. I do not drink at all, so my review is mainly for everything else, but the 3 people I was with all drink and enjoyed the offerings. We arrived at 5PM on a Saturday, and while all the outdoor seating was taken, there were several tables inside that were open. My wife and I ordered a pepperoni "shea deep dish" style pizza and an order of their smoked chicken wings with their "house mix" sauce, which is a combination of Country Sweet & Buffalo. Our friends also ordered a pizza. Our food came surprisingly quickly and everything was very good. The wings were large and had a great smoke flavor, and the house mix sauce was tasty, although a little heavier on the sweet side than the buffalo side. The pizza was large, heavy on the cheese, and the crispy "burnt" cheese edges were delicious. The food was $28 plus tax and fed us 3 times. Location was nice and clean, employees were friendly. Would definitely come back for food again.

Cute spot, there was some stret parking around. Looked like a house converted into a brewery. It was fairly quiet and the bartender was friendly. They don't do flights so we ordered the Piacere and the Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Wine Nerds. They have a lot of food options as well and we ordered the Smoked Chicken Wing Dip and the Chicken Bacon Wrap. Both drinks were good but the Mama's drinks was very good. Both of the food we ordered were very good. I really liked the chicken dip and it had great flavor. The wrap was well filled and also good. I definitely recommend popping in here.

I've been a fan of their Aurora location for a long time and was very excited when they opened a location in Tipp hill. Their beers are good, and they often have a wide variety of options although sometimes the draft list is limited to mostly one category. I really enjoy the food, especially the wedge salad and wings. In my opinion, the pizzas aren't as good as at their Aurora location but I really enjoy the sandwiches. I like that they serve an array of canned drinks as well, including non alcoholic options. The outdoor seating area is a nice dog friendly space, but I'd prefer tables and chairs to the picnic tables they have. Unfortunately, today I had a not so great experience. I had seen the cocktail offerings on instagram and was excited to try them. I asked the bartender about them and she said yes they have cocktails, but that she couldn't make one right now because it was too crazy. The outdoor area was full, but there was only one other person waiting at the bar. If they're going to offer cocktails, I would expect the staff to be willing to make them. Hopefully on our next visit there will be a more enthusiastic employee behind the bar.

Fun local atmosphere. The deep dish pizza is the winner. New beers every month. Something for everyone

Mom's dinner out landed us at Aurora Brewing Co. on Tipp Hill. I've been to their Aurora/King Ferry location and love the food and drinks there. I was excited that they opened one close by. My husband grew up on Tipp Hill when it was Brilbeck's turned Now & Later (check out their downtown location) and now home to ABCo. The food options were plenty and love that they offer kids menu here as well. Also they offer vegan mozzarella for pizza. I love that there something for everyone. There's plenty of drink options from their local brewed beer, to non alcoholic and basic soda. Once again something for everyone. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. It was a bit loud inside but it'll be better once the weather is warmer and the garage like door can be opened to the patio. Everything we ate was delicious, can't wait to come back to try more items. So lucky to have this close by, we'll still hit up the Aurora location since we have family out that way. Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Pizza On Ramp Pizza (my pizza it was delicious) Loaded Salt Potato Skillet (loved jalapeno sriracha)

Ordered at the Bar. No much room when we walked in on a Monday can only imagine what weekends are like. First choice option wasn't available but with how good the food was it just means we have to come back and try it then. I got a 10 piece house wing. The sauce was a mix of sweet and Buffalo and they were smoked. Hard to describe other than just really good. The smoking fused the sweet and Buffalo perfectly. The lady got the st Patty's smash which had ground corned beef cabbage and 1000 island on a toasted marble rye bread. Got a bite and both of us agreed it was really good. Chips were just normal lays but you can't beat that. $57 for the two of us with meals drinks tax and tip so about 30 average, which was fine we enjoyed it and would come back.

We checked out this little gem for lunch. We had wings & the loaded salt potato appetizers. They were both delicious. Plenty of toppings on the salted potatoes. The bleu cheese is made in house. We shared a Detroit style pepperoni pizza. It was so tasty. It's a deep dish style pizza with cheese around the crust and topped with cup-n-char pepperoni! The service by Rob was excellent. The place is really cool with garage doors that open to allow for an indoor/outdoor experience.

Aurora brewing Tipp Hill is off to a great start! My husband and I are big fans of the original location in King Ferry so we were super excited to see they were opening a location close to home. We went on their opening day and ordered some food and drinks. We arrived around 5pm and it was crowded but we were able to get a seat by the window. For food we got the pretzels and a deep dish cheese pizza. Both were delicious. The ingredients on the pizza tasted very fresh and the crust was nice and crispy. The pizza was a great size for the price. The photo is just 1/3 of it. I liked that they had some different items on their menu than the original location. I cant wait to see what they do going forward. We'll definitely be regulars at Aurora Brewing!

It's been a while since I'd last been but everything is as amazing as I remembered…read more I've seen them advertise their monthly "flight night" events for some time but never actually had been to one. When I saw an espresso martini and cake pairing, I knew I had to pull the trigger. Met up with some friends and we all ordered food beforehand to offset the impending sugar rush. I'd had their naan pizza in the past and loved it, so this time I went with the one that had caramelized onions and goat cheese. AMAZING. Crispy crust, melty cheese, tangy onions and the perfect amount of everything in every bite. Then onto the main event: the flights! The staff brought over our cake and drinks and were so great about explaining what to pair together. (There was also a card) Desserts were a carrot cake with the most impossibly airy icing, a pistachio cheesecake with chocolate ganache, and a chocolate cake with a light nutella icing. I'm usually a carrot cake girlie and while I enjoyed it, the cheesecake was actually my favorite. Just the perfect pistachio flavor and a wonderful consistency -- so, so smooth. Our waitress told us that the owner is the one that makes all of the desserts too. A multi-talented queen. As far as the martinis, my favorite was the affogato one. These flight-nights are one-off events and the items aren't normally on the menu, so if you see one that looks extra appealing, get yourself there! I've been for normal service too though, and honestly, never have had a misfire here. One thing I especially love is the option to order drinks in 5oz pours, a godsend for lightweights like me. Ambiance, food, drinks, all excellent.

Well presented and delicious! The carrot cake, especially was the best carrot cake I've ever had. The martinis were the perfect complement. I also had kataifi for the first time (it wasn't coconut, as I initially thought)! The only sad thing is that this is a special menu and not offered permanently at the moment. Perhaps that could change with some strong positive reviews..... The special flight nights happen periodically. I'll keep my eyes open and plan to visit again regardless!

The concert stage is upstairs, and the check-in was fast and simple at tge door. There is a spacious bar area, and the stage is in another room to the left. The stage is elevated, allowing for great viewing of the band. There's plenty of room for people to dance and hang out in front of the stage, and some seating along the outside edges of the room. The acoustics of the room were great. The bathrooms are large and clean. We did not try any of their food, as we had eaten before we arrived at the venue. They asked me to host an event at their…read morevenue as a live music promoter and quickly started showing behavior that resembles "Bill padding" which is highly illegal . This means they were trying to bill me for hidden factors and only explained once I questioned their request. They tried to bill me $850 yo use their line dancing coach for 45min (at most) of work. When I declined that I had my own that travels with my event and also shared that the average pay for a coach is $100/1-2 hours they then shared that the total also included $750 fee for finding vendors for the event. Typical, an event charges vendors to hold a booth at a venue $100-$250 per booth per event (average). I caught on to what they were trying to do( find ways to steal money from what I am owed each event), I then had my lawyer rewrite my contract so that if forces venues to itemize every factor I am billed for. The venue saw that I caught on to their possible illegal behavior( and my contract now stops venues from charging the vendors to hold a booth then postulating me as well for them finding the vendors which is double dipping) the venue quickly backed out of the event. This is highly illegal behavior so I had my lawyer rewrite my event contract to protect me from this criminal behavior and they instantly backed out of the event that they contacted me in request to host in the first place due to the large attendance my events hold. The individuals connected to this activity are Charley Orlando, Matt Vogelsang, Isaac Rubenstein and Erie Events. They later thought it would be professional to CC me on an event email that they are confirming/hosting an event the exact same date that my event was supposed to take place with all the same participants but a different name than my LLC. This new event is also manipulation by using the name "Country Fest" which is another LLC owned by a different individual (not them). Be sure to have a strong contract and and a great lawyer if deciding to collaborate with this bar and their colleagues.
