I believe I ordered an angus double and the meat felt very farce-y, more like a sausage than ground beef. Real gas station texture, to be perfectly honest. Also my first time trying poutine - the gravy was okay, salt is the main flavor profile, and the cheese didn't have that "squeak" everyone talks about. That didn't stop my sister and I from inhaling it, though. Decent enough to get the job done, I'll be trying other items if I get a chance to return.

I had no idea where the nearest Harvey's was from the borders of Toronto, Scarborough, and Markham. I did a search and realized that there's this one further south on Victoria Park, before you hit highway 401. It's funny. I have blown past this location many times. I've never stopped by. I also knew that there was an Chinese grocery store in the same plaza. Here's to another cool stop at two stores that I needed. The drive down was smooth. It took perhaps ten minutes. I had to make a left turn into the plaza. It took a bit of time, but I eventually made a safe turn. I did grocery shopping first. I had backed into a spot that directly faced the drive-thru, steps away from the grocery store's entrance. When I was done, I simply drove straight ahead to place my order at the drive-thru. I had a nice woman on the other end taking my order. I ordered two original beef burgers. I went with my standard toppings on both: lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and relish. She was so friendly. There was a bit of a wait, but I didn't mind. This Harvey's is also a Swiss Chalet. Excellent! I was drooling looking at the poutine on the menu. I love poutine. Harvey's does poutine well. I paid with a debit card. The woman had the payment machine taped to a hockey stick. Love! The transaction was smooth. I wonder if that hockey stick is ever used on deadbeat customers who don't pay. Hmm... I got my food in a paper bag. I thanked her and left. When I got home, I had my food. I loved the original burger. It was the right size. The flame-broiled beef patty was yummy. The toppings were perfect. I was a bit rusty and realized that my usual mayo is garlic mayo. These burgers hit the spot for dinner. The next day, I returned for the same deal. Yep, I was back less than 24 hours later. Instead, I got original and veggie burgers. With the latter, you have the option of getting a regular or multigrain bun. I had never had the multigrain bun before, so I chose it. The veggie burger is pretty good here. It tastes like a regular beef patty. It wasn't dry. It had good flavour. I'd do it again. The multigrain bun made me feel like I was eating healthier... haha! I went with garlic mayo, along with lettuce, tomatoes, and relish. Both burgers tasted much better. Garlic is everything. I dig this Harvey's. I need to get poutine next time, but I keep dreaming about this burger deal. Maybe when it's gone, I'll get the poutine. The woman who took my order during my second visit as equally as pleasant and nice as the woman from the previous night. Staff are awesome. I appreciated it. I'll be back. It's $8.99 before taxes through the Harvey's app. I placed this order for takeout: - Angus burger on a multigrain bun - Onion rings - Regular Diet Pepsi I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes. It was perfect, as I was wrapping up an errand a few blocks north of this eatery. I don't normally visit this plaza on the northeast corner of Markham Road and 16th Avenue. Garden Basket anchors it. I had no problem finding this eatery. Booster Juice is next door. This Harvey's does not have a drive-thru. I backed into a parking spot and walked over. There was plenty of parking at around 2 pm. There were places to sit down and eat on either side of the doors. Ahead of me on the right was the fountain machine and a door to the washrooms. On my left, I saw a sign for order pickups. Just what I was looking for! There was a cheerful young woman who greeted me there. I let her know that I had an order and said my first name. She nodded and happily handed over my drink and a bag of food. I loved that my drink had my name on the lid. I thanked her. I then headed to a free table to sit down and have a late lunch. That's the catch with taking advantage of coupons. You either order for delivery or takeout through the app. You can't visit your local Harvey's and show the deal as you are placing the order in-person. It's weird. I'm happy that I can order takeout in advance and then dine in. You simply don't have a tray. The experience is the same. I love the angus burger at Harvey's. It's yummy, especially with the garlic mayo and fresh veggies in my burger. I got onion rings as my side. They were crispy. The onions were naturally sweet. Delicious! I was happy with my Diet Pepsi. It had ice in it and hit the spot on a hot day. Before I left, I did a refill. I also used the washroom. It was a single stall that I used was clean. This location on Hwy 48 (Markham Road), is one of a few burger places in the area. When you think of quality, freshness and value for the buck then Hero comes to mind. It's a step up from the other fast-food restaurants. Hero has higher quality meats, a more robust offering in toppings and a good assortment of sides. The Markham Road location has been in business for a few years and is quite busy due to it's prime location in a multi-service shopping plaza. Hero caters to all crowds as it serves up beef, chicken, fish and vegetarian options for its sandwiches and sides and has very good salads as well. The staff and ownership really take pride in their offerings and service. This makes this location a popular destination for burger and chicken sandwich lovers in the area. Give this location a shot, I'm sure you will agree.
