For the life of me could not figure out why they named this place potatoes and beer...then I realized coffee is brewed. Smdh sometimes I'm not the brightest. Small parking lot and when you walk in it's a huge space and it was packed at the time. This place used to be a pasta pomodoro so you already know it's not a good location and changes hands often. We were seated and got enormous menus. We got coffees and ordered our meals. They are huge portions so sharing is a good idea. They've got a big flat screen tv with the game playing and outdoor patio seating. The food was mediocre and honestly I wouldn't go back. Happy to have checked it out at least once. read more

Really impressed! I've heard about this spot for a while now but have always pushed it aside until now. The seating inside is ample, plus there's additional tables at the outdoor patio too. So it's almost a guarantee of not having to wait. I wasn't expecting such a big menu, everything sounded soo good! I ended up ordering the Cali Omelette with hash browns and it also came with a side of buttered toast. Pretty comparable to Millbrae Pancake House's omelette, but I honestly like Hashes & Brews' better. The service was also on top of it. My water glass was constantly filled without having to ask. Our server was also really friendly and even offered to give us some suggestions on our first time here. I definitely want to try their cocktails and their pancakes here next time! Overall I had 0 complaints about my experience and definitely plan to come back again considering how close-by it is to where I live. Really solid choice for breakfast/brunch. read more

I was able to sample this restaurant with the wifey for lunch, seems they now have their liquor license. Here is what we sampled and how it faired The country fried steak and eggs- the portion is huge but the taste for me was similar to dennys brand country fried steak meaning semi salted not fully flavored chicken fried steak, the gravy smothered everything which is not a bad thing but it was slightly under par for my taste I did see Michelada's on their menu, I dared and tried it, let just say do not order this item, it is not a michelada what ever they made would not warrant an alcoholic beverage, sorry just my take on their version. Came with my supervisor for lunch A little pricey. I had the turkey melt sandwich. It was good and came with a side. I ordered the soup which was. Tortilla soup of the day. It was cold so maybe I should have ordered the fries My supervisor had the vegetarian sandwich which she had before but had to ask them to toast the bread with little or no butter as it was greasy last time. Nice place to have decent breakfast especially when you are starving and can't handle lines. Ordered a banana pancake (3.5/5) and chicken and waffles (3.5/5). They are located in a mall so there are ample parking spaces which is always a plus point for me. We were seated promptly and had our drinks orders taken. They were fairly quick in serving our food too which was nice. The restaurant decor was modern and i believe also functions as a sports bar? They were playing World Cup on the screen, and it was kind of nice atmosphere of people cheering together. The thing i love the most was that there isn't a line and we were served promptly. I cannot believe how overdue this review is!! When i tried their food for delivery during the peak of the pandemic i did not have the most amazing experience but every single time i have visited this place the experience has been wonderful! We like to go at least once every other week if not every weekend. All of their staff are so friendly. Never had a bad experience with any server. They are always refilling coffee and water. Even when they are swamped the service is still great but when it is less busy it is always just the best dining experience. The food is delicious and so many delicious items to choose from. Parking is plentiful. Definite five stars! read more

Brunch with no wait time and parking? This is your place to go!! The restaurant is located in a plaza so there was plenty of parking. We arrived around 10 on a Saturday and was seated right away. There were lots of things to choose from the menu and I ended up getting the chorizo scramble with hash Browns. This place is great for groups because it's a sizeable restaurant with ample parking in the lot. If you're here on a weekend morning, be prepared to wait a bit. Nothing nearly has horrendous as brunch wait times in SF though. Drinks are probably the main draw of this place purely because they come in giant bowl things. I was soooo excited to come here and left pretty disappointed. I emailed their office to try to resolve this quietly and I never heard back a month later. I had a delicious scramble but was super sad and upset that my fruit had mold on it :( of course I didn't eat it. I'm pregnant and didn't wanna risk infection so I threw out all my cut fruit which sucked. Since my food was take-out I didn't notice until after I had already gotten home. I was also completely missing my toast so honestly with just the scramble at hand at that point, it was not worth the price I paid because I did NOT get a full meal. Please check your meals. Went with a group and was seated 6 to 4 at a table (with covid guidelines) which was fine because we were sat together outside on the patio area. We dealt with 2 servers and it was the worse experience. We sat down and the servers came and brought water to our table. We ordered drinks and it never came. serve returned to take our order 20 minutes later and we all received our food one by one. Still no drinks. We asked the other server if we could get drinks and he said we had to ask our server. She never came to our table after bringing food. Not even for napkins, smh. Pretty much will not return. A large group of us came here to celebrate two HS graduations. I was so impressed by the customer service of this place. Not only did they go above and beyond but their food was delicious. I had the Salmon salad, see picture below. Also, the bartender made us some really great cocktails. Even the bread pudding dessert was sooo good. I had high hopes for the opening of this location. As a frequent patron of the Hash House located at Campbell, I was first informed by their staff months ago of this second location as it is much closer to where I reside. Sadly, the entire experience from start to finish was disappointing to say the least. We were seated promptly and given menus, but had to wait about 20 minutes until the server arrived at our table. During this time, numerous staff passed by, but we were met with nothing but blank stares. Apparently, they will not assist unless it's their designated table. We decided to order pancakes, one strawberry and the other banana. When the food arrived, the first thing we noticed was the considerable difference in size between the portion on my plate and that of my companion's. He evidently had a micro pancake located underneath the top one. To make matters worse, the pancakes were burnt (please reference the attached photo), overcooked, rubbery and tasted eerily similar to boxed mix. I'm uncertain if the recipe is standardized, but unlike the Campbell location which serves up fluffy, buttermilk cakes made with love, this location's was inedible. In all fairness, the server did ask how the food was, to which I answered with "it's alright." I did not wish to endure another lengthy wait time for the kitchen to remake the pancakes. We both barely touched our plates. Then came another lengthy wait just for one of the staff to take notice and provide the check. I truly hope that this location is in the process of working through the kinks of its opening weekend. Suffice it to say, I will definitely not return to learn otherwise. read more

First time trying this spot and so glad we did. The ambience is casual, and stylish with a beautiful full bar. The staff was warm, and extremely attentive-our drinks were always full. The food was excellent. Hot, fresh, and came out quickly. I had the veggie Ruben and it was cheesy with a tangy dressing, and crunchy, delicious sauerkraut. The fries were hot, crispy perfection. The Belgian waffle was "proper" with an authentic Belgian waffle taste. Unlike some others that use a regular waffle batter, these were as they should be; malty and crisp on the outside but soft on the inside and sprinkled with just the right amount of powdered sugar. First off, it's not a "white tablecloth fine dining establishment". It's a clean, comfortable, roomy cafe/restaurant/bar with good food and excellent service. We were a group of 4, late lunch meet up. We had salads and sandwiches, all fresh ingredients, nicely prepared, quality produce...Salmon, Cobb, Greek, and Club, plus wine and beer (nice casual bar area). The highlight of the meal was our server Julio...hilariously funny, accommodating our every whim, entertaining and attentive (plus great backup service while he went on break).
