I've always passed by and heard of Jack's, but honestly, it never really caught my attention, even with their bright lit-up "Jack's" sign. After dining here for a double date, though, I was genuinely surprised. The food and service were both on point! FOOD: 9/10 ALCOHOLIC BEVS: 9/10 SERVICE: 9/10 AMBIANCE: 9/10 FOOD: 9/10 I loved that there was a wide variety of options without it feeling overwhelming. That said, a lot of the dishes sounded really good, so you might find yourself feeling a bit indecisive. I'm always a pasta person, so I ordered their Italian pasta, and it was BOMB. The portion size was perfect: filling without being too heavy. Everything was flavorful, well-seasoned, and most importantly, served piping hot. ALCOHOLIC BEVS: 9/10 They had a solid selection of drinks, whether you're into beer, cocktails, or hard liquor. I also thought their seasonal Christmas drinks were a fun and cute touch. SERVICE: 9/10 Our server, Cesar, was kind, funny, and very attentive. I really appreciated his service, especially how he never made us feel rushed, even though it was close to closing time. AMBIANCE: 9/10 Jack's was very comfortable to dine in and gave off a lounge-like vibe with multiple TV screens showing sports. They have a good mix of booth and table seating, which makes it great for both casual hangouts and group dinners.

We originally had reservations at another restaurant in the city, but they were canceled due to a power outage in the area. We quickly had to find an alternative and decided on Jack's. Despite the restaurant being pretty packed when we arrived, we were seated right away. Our food came out in a timely manner, and everything we ordered was delicious -- the shrimp scampi pasta, truffle fries, and rigatoni were all great. Our server was very friendly, and we were in and out within 30-45 minutes. We would definitely come back to try other menu items or even visit another location. There's a wide variety of options to choose from.

We have been customers of Jack's Restaurant & Bar in San Bruno for many years. In all honesty, at one of our first visits, I found the breakfast to be unexciting and dinner to be mediocre. So, we took a hiatus of a few years. Fast forward to post-Covid times when we rediscovered the restaurant just down the street from our house. From then to present day, Jack's has been one of our regular eateries from where we order take-out. Nothing wrong with dining in-house here, but since the pandemic, we have just gotten very comfortable with bringing food to eat at our own home. The venue always appears clean and tidy with a family friendly environment. My only complaint about their place is that the private parking lot is a bit tight, so parking large SUVs or bigger can be challenging. Good food at really great prices is what reels is in again and again. My #1 go-to is the GRILLED SALMON. At $25.95, it's a fabulous choice for a perfectly cooked fish with a side of broccoli and rice pilaf. I also love their CHOPPED CHICKEN SALAD ($21.95), but with crispy chicken instead of grilled. DJ is loyal to the BLACK SHEEP BURGER (VEGETARIAN) for $18.95 and the boys like their REUBEN ($19.95), RIGATONI DI POLLO ($21.95), CAESAR SALAD ($13.95) + Chicken ($5.95), and more. What is really worth mentioning is their awesome service, even when calling to place take-out orders. No mistakes EVER, something you can't say about many other places. In short, Jack's in San Bruno is a solid destination for yummy eats and perfect service. I can't comment on their other locations, but this locale gives a magnificent first impression of their chain.

Friendly welcoming restaurant with good food and nice decor. Parking lot always full. Got the lamb burger which was thick and juicy, and a side of fries. Meatloaf was huge and enough for 2 meals. Tried the churro waffle which was just ok, too sweet for my taste. Spanakopita was excellent

Reservations are a must if wanting to go during Early Bird Special. Not a lot of items to choose from if seeking the special but so worth it. Most items $25 which includes entree, soup or salad, veggies, choice of mashed potatoes or rice pilaf, and choice of coffee, tea, or soda. The NY steak is a little extra. Sourdough also brought to the table. Good sized portions and everyone was happy with their food. Service was great as well. No complaints.

Another good evening drop in for a quick burger and mix appetizers with a cold beer. Staff are on point with smiles all around. Comfortable seating in familiar surroundings never too loud just right.

Jack never disappoints me. I came at 5 p.m. on a Friday night and was lucky that there was a table available at the bar. We started with a lemon drop and a margarita. For appetizers, we ordered the Asian wings, calamari, and chili nachos. We also ordered a New York steak meal, which comes with soup. The service was quick, as always. The place was about 80% full when I arrived. Parking can be difficult if the lots are full, but if you come after 5 or 6 p.m., you can park in the neighboring lot next door--just be sure to check the posted times.

Jacks is the spot! They have amazing salads, Mac n cheese, entrees, and more! I love when I'm running errands in the area and can pick up a delicious meal from Jacks! Service is wonderful and the vibes are great!

Jacks in San Bruno was jam-packed, which told me right away this is clearly a local favorite. The perfect place for a night with family, friends or love. The hospitality was on point from start to finish, even with how busy it was. I ordered my current go-to drink, a Jameson and lemonade, and then dove into the blackened catfish with veggies and mashed potatoes. I'm really glad I asked for lemon butter and melted butter on the side because the fish was a little on the drier side, but still very flavorful. Overall, the food, energy, and service made it a great experience. I'll definitely be back!

Wonderful happy hour menu! Great portions as well. Ambiance was great! Restaurant is very clean and neat. Our server, Jason, was very attentive and kind. He was great! He was very quick. Would definitely recommend coming here if you want a small bite for happy hour, or to eat a full meal! Staff overall are very hard working and kind. My favorites from the happy hour menu would be the wedge salad, and mediterranean sample platter.

Solid food - a must for me when I'm trying to catch the game with friends and family. A crowd favorite. This location is great for before I fly out or when I'm landing hungry. I love breakfast here but brunch/ lunch / dinner are good too. Their fish plates, burger and meatloaf is bomb. I don't ever order meatloaf out but it's one of my college buddy's favorite's so I've enjoyed. The salmon is a solid choice along with the Reuben and wraps. Oh and the fries are good - bet you can't eat just one!

This is my 2nd time to this Jack's location as the closer one to me is the one in San Mateo. I actually like this one a bit better for the seating arrangement in the side room as well as it seems a little more cozy. I did not know this but they have a Happy hour special from 4-6 where in addition to your entree you get soup or salad and a drink. We happened to go at 5:45 because we wanted to beat the dinner rush. I didn't know we would run into the happy hour rush, almost all of the tables were full there on a Saturday early evening at that time. Luckily there was a few open table so were seated immediately but the place was pretty packed. I got the Half fried chicken which was fried well and had good seasoning. Also was able to get an Arnold palmer for my drink. Half Lemonade, half Ice tea. Service was very good, drinks came out fast and the server and the manger stopped by a couple of times while dining to check to make sure everything was good. Overall it was a nice meal out with the family and would come back again.

    Spaghetti carbonara with chicken
    Clarissa P.

Great service, meh food. Food came out super quick though! Clam chowder: This was unlike any clam chowder we had before and we did not like it. It tasted like chunky potato soup and was gritty. Spaghetti Carbonara: This was ok! Needed more flavor and the chicken was rubbery. California Mac: Also very bland, we've had this at the San Mateo location and this tasted way different. To be honest, the San Mateo location was good, this location was not. The food was bland, and the ambiance wasn't great. It was so loud, it felt like you could hear everyone's conversations! I wouldn't come back to this location! On the plus, Jack's has good HH deals!

Let's start with the food. My partner and I had the Mexican Hash and Elvis pancakes, respectively. My partner (who is Mexican) was not impressed by the hash, and said it didn't taste very authentic. I enjoyed the Elvis pancakes--named for the fact that they're made with peanut butter, honey, and bananas. The flavor profile was good, but the pancakes were chewy and dry. I enjoyed the flavors, which is the only reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1. Beyond that, the service was not great. Our table was dirty and while the server said she would come clean it for us, she never did. The table only had one set of silverware and I was never brought any during our meal, I had to grab them off of an adjacent table. We were not given water, or asked if we wanted any, and our server checked in on us so infrequently that we had to flag down a different one just to ask for water. The prices were fine. Nothing unusual for the Bay Area, so that was a bonus at least, but there's no way I'm ever going back.

Tons of big TVs playing sports, rows of pinball machines ready to eat your quarters, and a laid-back vibe that makes it perfect for hanging out. And the food? It HITS. Huge, juicy wings sauced to absolute perfection. Definitely do half-and-half for max flavor fun. The burger also delivers -- super juicy and made me feel borderline primal while sipping a cold beer. Only hiccup was asking for pepper jack and getting blue cheese instead, but the bar was super apologetic and comped us a free beer for the mix-up. Shoutout to them for that. The beer menu leans lighter, crisper, and a little sweeter, with lots of lagers and ciders. Everything I tried was genuinely tasty. Overall, like I said... There is a free well-maintained parking lot on the side and back of the casino, and it was easy to find a parking spot. I also saw a free shuttle bus taking people to/from the San Bruno BART station. There is only one restaurant which serves both American food (helmed by an American chef) and Chinese food (helmed by a Chinese chef). There is a direct entrance to the restaurant on San Mateo Ave, although you can walk through the casino from the main entrance to the back right area labeled "Bar". You order & pay at the counter and find a table and they will bring out the food to you on a cart when it is ready. There were plenty of tables on a Sunday evening ~6pm. All items already have tax included. They also have 4 different types of cakes (chocolate, carrot, tres leches, etc) and other desserts you can purchase. You get your own free water by the bar area of the restaurant. No need to bus your own table; there is a busboy who occasionally walks around cleaning up the plates and wiping down tables. Within the context of everyday no-frills cuisine, I would rate the food a 3.5/5. NY steak $28 - there was a nice grilled flavor and it was cooked perfectly medium but the meat itself was a little tough/chewy (which is why I prefer other cuts, but I can't be too picky here). It came with decently flavored mashed potatoes & gravy and a good-sized portion of sauteed vegetables. Chicken Parmesan $19. Generous portion. Came with fettuccine with tomato / marinara sauce. The sauce was a little too sour for my liking, and the chicken itself was a little dry. Shrimp with lobster sauce $22. Sauce doesn't actually have lobster (it's more of a thick Chinese black bean sauce with bits of minced pork, sauteed onions, and bell peppers). It's served over white rice. It was surprisingly hearty. I liked how there was enough sauce to coat each spoonful of rice. I personally would not return because I don't have a reason to gamble here and I don't like getting carded when entering (which I guess you could consider a compliment), but if you did spend the day here at the tables, the restaurant isn't a bad choice to have lunch/dinner.
