Now this is a cool concept. Let's back up. I meet a couple of friends on Sunday mornings at coffee…read moreshops and cafes. No chains, just stand alone locations. Each place has a theme, or a charm all its own and Grind N Gears Cafe is one of the latter. When you pull up you immediately recognize the place as a former body shop or service station. Not a as station, but a body shop. They have their own small parking lot in front with special motorcycle parking on the sides of the lot. It's a small place. When you walk inside there is a runner leading up to the counter with their case of delicious looking eats and a platform above with an old Indian motorcycle perched looking over the place. To the right of the counter are some toys for the kids, including a kids motorcycle and other funs toys to keep the kiddos busy while their parents enjoy a magically concocted coffee drink by the shops artisans. There are comfy little sitting areas composed of oversized furniture from your parents basement. The front has a few racks of leather jackets that feels like your at The Alley's northern location. They do have some hats and apparel for their own shop and I almost bought a hat. On the left side, they have another seating area, but it looks more like a table in a cozy kitchen than a sitting room. It's quaint no matter where you look or sit. Lastly, their drinks and food are quite good. With all the stand alone coffee places popping up, Grinds N Gears is one of the cooler places and I don't mean hipster.

But once you get inside it's so much fun. With a variety of drinks from coffee to teas and boba there's really something for any mood. They also have baked good from local bakeries. The staff is also super friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to drinks. All in all, a great experience and we can't wait to come back soon and try other drinks.

It is a rare fully indoor, two-level outlet mall, making it the best option during Chicago's winter or rainy days. * Top Brands: Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Versace, Saint Laurent, and Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store. So let me get this straight: Not only are you now charging $13 for parking that was free for years,…read morebut you've outsourced the 'experience' to a tech company that tracks my every move. It's transparently greedy. We all know you're too cheap to install actual kiosk boxes, so you've offloaded the work onto the customers. You think it's 'convenient' because we don't have to download an app and can just 'text to pay,' but that's just a clever way to link my phone number and credit card to your invasive computer vision surveillance. Standing in a drafty garage, scanning QR codes, and handing over my personal data just to spend money at your stores is not 'innovation'--it's a data-mining chore. Between the constant plate-scanning and the 'AI' tracking my vehicle, you've turned a simple shopping trip into a privacy nightmare. I'll be taking the 'convenient' route of shopping online or driving to a suburban mall that still understands what 'free parking' means and doesn't treat its patrons like test subjects in a tech lab.

No one greeted me, no one acknowledged my existence for 15-20 min after I was wandering the store. It's funny because there were A LOT of employees working. Most were just standing around either doing nothing or chatting amongst each other. One of the employees actually said they need to figure out how to get more people to the store. More people in your store won't do anything if your staff doesn't offer to help your in store customers. I asked 2 people for help and neither were helpful. I tried to ask someone if all the sizes were out and with her back turned to me, she barely muttered yes. I would have placed an online order, but decided not to based on my store experience today. Not coming back.

Happy Returns decided that my order was a gift, and so would not allow me to get my money back, only a store credit. (Hello in there - even if it's a gift, if it doesn't fit, someone (the person who paid for it) should be able to get their money back.) Hmm. I call the customer service number. Rep says there's a discrepancy between my billing address and shipping address. I ask what the difference is. My name on one is Margaret M, and just Margaret on the other. My street on one is XXX Ave, and just XXX on the other. It's a pretty stupid system that can't figure out that the bill-to and the ship-to are the same person. Rep tries to start a return, and can only send a UPS label. I've read horror stories about that online, and so I hold on to the items until I can get to a store. I go to the store. No signage indicates that online returns are done at a little desk in the back of the store, but no problem, someone came up and told me where I had to go. Clerk lady tries to start a return, but can't do it, says it has to be sent to Dodgeville. I have to agree to this, there's nothing else she can do. I give her credit, though, she did try to help me. This is way too much to go through to return things. I've been a Lands' End customer, off and on, since the '80s, but no more.

JCPenney Portraits review:…read more Their manager saved the day and photo session! Our photographer while nice, didnt have the skill to entertain our small kid -- so on all of the photos she wasnt smiling at all. She was cranky and we didnt know what to do until the manager came - She was outgoing and funny with our baby and the rest of the photos came out wonderfully! Truly thankful. We did have to wait for an hour: Our appointment was at 12:45pm, we were seen around 2pm, and finally left the mall around 3pm, coming home by 4pm -- the whole experience took 4 hours. But looking back at the photos : it was worth it!! Loved it.

In between shots she was frequently on her phone and rushed our set which was MAYBE 10 minutes when last time we were here with a different photographer who was very nice and funny and took her time, excellent customer service. She took maybe 15 photos with some of us blinking or not smiling yet. Obviously we were not happy with the outcome and she had a VERY NASTY attitude saying she can't redo them because they're completely booked for the rest of the day AT THE SAME TIME her coworker was on the phone with a reservation who was running late. We just wanted a couple pictures redone as we were absolutely NOT going to pay $370+ for overall horribly taken photos. It seemed as though she was rushing us to get out of her face and it almost came off as price gouging as we did not pay that much last time we came. Super disrespectful woman who was rude to my mother on a day where we came to celebrate her. If you come here, make sure you do NOT have this disgrace of an employee as your photographer. We ended up not paying for any photos as they came out terrible and we endured an overall miserable experience. That woman ruined our Mother's Day outing. Next up will be calling corporate!
