Based on the Yelp reviews, I could see the owner was nice, helpful, and not pushy. However, I really didn't have any concrete idea what to expect by reading the words alone. I dragged hubby along to check out this spot. It appears that "Sheepskin Depot" buys products straight from the factory. If you're looking for a pair of UGG boots and wanting to shop local at the same time, give SD a shot. They carry other international brands, such as Pajar, Minnetonka, Schott NYC and etc. Indeed, the gentleman on duty (assuming the owner) welcomed us and remained super chill and approachable the entire time we were there. I was looking for a pair of tall black boots for work. As a daily commuter via public transportation, walking with a pair of quality, warm shoes in the winter season is an absolute must. In the end, I purchased a pair of UGG "Evanna" boots, with the signature sock-liner inside to keep the feet perfectly insulated and dry. I paid $200 before tax, versus $250 at any major department store. This style is part of the current collection, so such item is normally not discounted elsewhere. I also saw luxurious sheepskin rugs, seat covers for cars, coats, jackets, and accessories. Another gem in Chicagoland has been mined by the local-business advocate Rosa J. A good place to find some harder to find Uggs and similar products. I've made at least 2 purchases here, and have been in the store more times than that. Always the same 2 people there, so I assume they own it and run it themselves. They are sometimes a little overbearing, but very knowledgeable about the products. This is the only place for real Uggs and especially for men's styles. Why do women only get to have warm feet? Kids can have all they want too! Add to that slippers boots and now shoes, coats, hats, gloves etc. You will be able to handle what ever Chicago Winter throws at you. The store carries excellent quality sheepskin leather jackets. I wanted a jacket that they normally don't carry from one of their partners and the owner was able to order it specifically for me. He provided excellent service every step of the way, and went the extra mile to ensure that I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. I definitely recommend buying from Sheepskin Depot. read more

This place and the owner is amazing!! I have never tried on a pair of Uggs because of foot issues. This guy spent about an hour with me, and I basically tried on almost everything in varies different sizes until my foot felt right inside the shoes I ended up purchasing. Even though I could have probably bought them online a little cheaper I wouldn't trade the one on one personal experience I had here for anything and was more than happy to pay the price he told me!! This time I went to the Sheepskin Factory Depot and ended up being very happy that I did. Great variety, great service, and a fair price. This place is great! I went there seeing if I could just pick up a sheep skin cover for my motorcycle as I was leaving the next day for a very long trip. I figured I would just buy some scraps and figure out how to fashion it onto the seat someway/somehow. Well, the service I received here was more than I ever could've expected, not only was the sheepskin affordable but they custom cut it to my seat, put straps on it, and even fashioned it onto the bike for me! I spent hundreds on a sweater and gifted it to my wife. And bought another sweater for my daughter at the same time. She liked the style - BUT when I gave it to her she immediately pointed out the FAKE leather accents and PLASTIC toggles (fancy buttons usually made from wood or bone on expensive clothing like this!!) Now here's the BIG ISSUE: They don't refund for purchases - not even if you return within a day or two! What a scam. My daughter cannot wear hers because, though they say it's baby alpaca - it ITCHES!! I'm going on every complaint site I can find. Was looking at the reviews and not many were too recent, so I wanted to take the time and write a PHENOMENAL review. This place is the bomb! And what really makes it is Dimitri who helped me out. I have always wondered about this place since I live in the neighborhood and have seen it for years. My mistake for not visiting sooner! I had some time and thought I would check it out. I really wasn't looking to buy anything but their slippers, boots, shoes, coats etc. are great! The store is small but they must have a big back storage area cause Dimitri kept bringing out multiple styles in my size. He is very knowledgeable about all his brands (the UGGs are to die for) and makes excellent suggestions. He doesn't try to push anything on you and lets you take your time. I ended up getting a pair of slippers (not UGGs but Acorn brand-much better to the fit of my feet). And took my husband there the following day and he ordered a pair of slippers (size 15) and I ended up getting a pair of UGG boots at a really good price since the color was discontinued. His prices are better than Zappos and Amazon so you better check this place out first before you buy anything. Thank you Dimitri for your professional help and kind demeanor. I had seat cover made for a vehicle over 6 years ago. I moved the cover to a new vehicle and they are still great! The only thing I had to do is get new elastic put on them. Let's be honest - UGGs are generally not the most sophisticated shoes around but, they do keep my feet warm during the crazy Chicago winters (polar vortex, anyone?) better than any other brand I've tried and for that alone I am a loyal customer. UGGs rarely go on sale and so I resigned myself to spending $200 or more on a new pair from a big box retailer, until a friend told me about this store. I went there this weekend and was pleasantly surprised with their great selection (including models which I've seen currently in Nordstrom) and, best of all, their amazing prices. I walked out with a great pair of sheepskin UGG boots for $139 (previously $200 and discounted because the style has been discontinued). The owner and staff are very personable. And they had a great selection of kids boots and accessories (hats, gloves, scarfs, coats) as well.
