Small cafe, quaint and cozy spot. Came in for late breakfast with the hubs. Upon entering we were led to a table for two where we received menus and drink orders were made. Carlos, our server, took our food order. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, bacon eggs and cheese with a mini muffin on the side for the hubs and I ordered a bacon and spinach quiche with a blueberry mini muffin. Approximately 10 minutes passed and our food was served. Hubs loved his food, practically inhaled it, lol! My quiche was hot but the bacon was past edible, tasted burnt and definitely not fresh. We waited for Carlos to circle back and he listened as I explained that the quiche was disappointing and responded appropriately to my request to try the vegetable quiche instead. Within minutes a piping, fresh veggie quiche appeared and it truly was delicious . All is well that ends well! Thank you Carlos for making it a win win situation! We will be back! read more

It's small on the inside, but there's plenty of room for outdoor seating - and on a lovely Texas morning, this place would make for a quiet spot to enjoy your coffee and pastry. On this occasion we were there for a post-game pre-lunch. After breakfast it becomes a sandwich and salad place. The special for today was the bbq brisket sandwich. Great find in little Bulverde. This is a quaint place with a small assortment of home goods. The focus is on food. Wifey and I went for breakfast on Saturday morning. The place was very busy. I had the bacon and spinach quiche, and she the breakfast sandwich. The food was delivered promptly. The service is friendly. The crust on the quiche was out of this world. We had breakfast at Hatch Bakery and Cafe and the experience was mostly good. We enjoyed a pastry and a pancake plate and some potatoes, which were all good. However, I ordered a single fried egg and requested over medium. It was so overcooked that there was absolutely no chance of any soft yolk. I overheard a woman at the table behind me order an over-easy egg and when we got up to leave, I glanced at her plate and saw another very over-cooked egg. There's obviously a problem with a cook, and the server should not have brought those two eggs to his customers. read more

We ate at Hatch Bakery and Cafe this morning for breakfast. it was our first visit and we'll be back! The service by Mauricio and Luis was excellent-attentive but not intrusive. The food was a wow! The whole experience was beautiful. I had the Hatch Ranchero, my husband had the pancake breakfast. We both enjoyed the meal so much, I wanted some of the green chili salsa to take with me. Yummy sandwiches and soups! They currently have a special called the gobbler, turkey, cranberry sauce, and other tasty toppings that I'm gonna hate to see go when thanksgiving has passed. Just had the opportunity to try the soup. It changes daily, this time it was potato and it was scrumptious. There is limited seating inside but there is patio seating on either side of the building... however you'll spend your whole lunch swatting flies. I ate with one hand and used my other to fan them away from my food the entire time I was there. That is the only downside, other than that this place is great! I hate to be this person. We came here before church last Sunday as I saw the reviews were good and we wanted breakfast. We were sat immediately which was great, but then we didn't get greeted by anyone after 20 minutes. We ordered coffee, and I got the horchata latte. That was served within 5ish minutes but the coffee they gave my mom and husband was cold. My latte was hot. We then sat there for another 15 minutes before they took our order, but people that came in after us got serviced and served before us. We had to flag down a waiter for waters after sitting there for 30 minutes. We also asked for more coffee after sitting there for a while with no food or true service. Then, the food came out after us almost being there for an entire hour and to our surprise it was all completely cold. Waffles were cold. Bacon was cold and hard. Eggs were cold. At that point we were about to just ask for a total refund and walk out but we were all starving and church started in 10 minutes. We took a few bites each of our cold food and had to flag down another waiter to get our check. It didn't seem like we were actually assigned a waiter as we kept flagging down ones that passed by our table. The only things at our table that were hot were my horchata latte and my husband $5 kolache. $50 later with a tip at the end of it, I just couldn't believe I paid for something so horrible, I ended up trying to call to request a complete refund as it was a truly horrible experience, and their phones don't work because a voicemail box isn't set up. Wouldn't recommend unless you go for a kolache or a horchata latte. The ambiance wasn't worth it either for us as you'll just get overlooked in a tiny restaurant. Sad read more

We have been loyal customers here for years. We usually stop in for breakfast. Recently our breakfast bill has been steadily increasing to now being $40 or more. I looked at the menu board this morning and discovered that the Quiche I have always ordered went from $8.96 to $13.00. Every sandwich now starts at least $16.00. Where am I at Downtown San Fransisco? I watched this bistro make a number of changes over the last year trying to increase their profits. I tried to buy one cookie and they wanted $5.00 for it?? Just WOW! We travel and eat out all the time. This place is out of line and has priced themselves out of the market. There are many pother places nearby where we can get a good breakfast or even lunch for 1/2 that price. This time they went too far. Were gone. read more
