Today was good. Light traffic. Fast food. Everything was great. Although potatoes are not French fries so I was disappointed in the special

The food portions were generous and well prepared. The wife, my mother, and I had the waffle breakfast...two Belgian waffles, a scrabbled egg, and two thick slices of bacon.they drank water. I had an horchata latte that was very tasty. The diner was small, but spacious and well lit. The service was outstanding, attentive, and ready to please. We will visit regularly when visiting my mother.

I haven't eaten here in a while. They have added more areas to eat as they've gotten more popular which is nice. But the server still didn't seem to be "present." I told him I didn't eat pork, and he replied he could add ham instead. Ok.... I had to remind him ham is pork. They did substitute a chicken breast upon my request. I then asked him which of the two coffees had more foam (froth), and he couldn't tell me. So I just went with the Americano. The Sandwich and coffee were both good, but nothing out of this world. My suggestion is to educate your servers on menu items to better serve your customers. I'll be back because I love helping local businesses.

I have been wanting to try Hatch for a long time and it did not disappoint! It is a very popular spot. When I got there, I saw that there were a lot of people and I was worried that we would be waiting for a long time. Nope! We were seated and served right away. They have a really big menu with lots to try. My mother-in-law had a kolache which was top-notch. I really loved the cinnamon roll, eggs, and bacon dish, but there's a ton of other things on the menu I really want to try. The ambience is cool. I love the part of town. It's in an indoor and outdoor seating areas are both really nice. The staff are great. Definitely going to come back soon.

    Chilaquiles

Chilaquiles were hot and delicious, reminded me of Mexico City. We had great service and hot coffee. Highly recommended.

Many people talk about playing golf when they retire or spending more time on their favorite hobby, however, mine would be to travel to every interesting small town to have breakfast. This place would be perfect and a must to start off on and definitely made me consider turning in my resignation on Monday. Decided to flip the script and have our desert first. Call me crazy, but when you try the lemon and cherry strudel, then you will understand why. It's the first thing that caught my attention when we walked in and I had to put my desire to rest, otherwise I wouldn't be able to eat my breakfast fast enough to get to it. After my taste buds were in spa like relaxed mode, our main entrees arrived. The Hatch omelette for me, and wifey went down the sugar road and got the eggs and waffles. Magnificent! The outside restaurant has that small town county charm that I sure attracts locals, but finding this on Yelp got us here. There is outside and inside modest dinning, a bit warm for these hot summer days, but the pleasant servers made up for it. The hardest part was leaving on a full stomach and not loading up with bakery goodies on the way out. Perhaps, next time I won't have such restraint.

Cute lil mom and pop off Bulverde rd.. Great food, friendly service. Bakery items looked amazing. Lot of people drop in for coffee and pastries. I had the hatch French toast (Made with one of my fav drinks..Licor 43) my husband had the hatch breakfast. Both were fresh and delicious. Meals are made to order and the servers deliver them fast... small restaurant worth a try tucked in the bulverde area off 281.

This is such a precious hidden gem! Super cute decor indoor and outdoor! Inside you will find beautiful stained glass and pothos in vintage looking vases on almost every table. The service is absolutely amazing, everyone is super attentive and quick to get you seated, drinks ordered, and great assistance with recommending items on the menu. The coffee was very smooth and bold, not bitter. I drank it black but with cream and sugar on my refill. The lemon cheese pastry was served warm and just had a pinch of sweet with a kiss of tart, soft inside, lightly crisp outside, and gently and perfectly warmed. The removal of one star would have to be for the main dishes. My French toast was not very hot at all, the flavor would good but could've been amazing if it was hot fresh off the pan. It seemed like it was brought out about 5 minutes after it was done. Also, my husband got the breakfast croissant sandwich with turkey, egg, and cheese and the egg was very unevenly distributed. The sandwich was cut in half and almost all the egg was on one half. His food also wasn't very hot, which was strange because there was only one other couple in there with us so it wasn't super busy at that moment. Nonetheless, I definitely want to go back and try them again, I will just be sure to reiterate I would like my food brought out hot, even if that means we aren't all getting our food at the same time, it's not that serious. They do have an awesome menu and also serve cocktails.

Ever seen The Daytripper tv show? Chet travels around Texas exploring restaurants and things to do. After seeing the Hatch Bakery on the show, I had to try it. We went for lunch and they were packed. They have a great variety of sandwiches on the menu, but I wanted what Chet had, the ham and Brie sandwich, while Glenda got the Pro turkey sandwich. Just imagine Black Forest ham, Brie cheese, sliced apples, pineapple jam, jalapeno pesto, and mayo on toasted house bread. It was delicious! I love something different! And they had good tea too. Glenda is super picky about her tea. Well, if you're ever in Bulverde, Texas, drop in . You'll love it!

Went to meet a friend for lunch today: sat outside, had the Ham & Brie sandwich with chips, it was fabulous! She had the hatch breakfast sandwich and loved it. Service was great and we sat and talked for 3 hours.

    Tiny Fruit Cup

I got two turkey sandwiches, a bag of chips, a fruit cup, and a Horchata Latte for $50. $17 (each) for turkey sandwiches is wild. The sides were a tiny fruit cup and a bag of chips. Some of my fruit was old/rotten. Either browning or wrinkled. It's a cute place, but it's very small and crowded. The sandwiches were good (fresh and made from scratch), but at the end of the day, they are turkey sandwiches lol. Turkey sandwiches are not worth $17 a piece in my opinion. Prices are MAYBE worth it if you were paying for ambience or service, but that is not the case. Save your money and go to Jersey Mikes. You can get more for less.

Great service, especially considering one of us was 3 years old. They are not widely known as neat eaters, and I'm sure half his pancake syrup ended up is his lap

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this experience absolutely warrants one. Due to a recent car accident, I hadn't been out of the house in weeks. A couple of friends wanted to take me out to breakfast, and we chose The Hatch. One friend had never been there, and I hadn't been back since the expansion. Unfortunately, this visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Our waiter, Carlos, set the tone immediately -- and not in a good way. It took an unreasonably long time for him to even acknowledge our table and take drink orders. My friends ordered coffee but I ordered a Coke. He brought me coffee instead, apparently assuming that because my friends ordered coffee, I must have wanted it too. The coffee was barely warm. When my friends mentioned this, instead of fixing the issue, Carlos became argumentative, insisting the coffee was cold because of the creamer they used. He actually picked up the creamer and shook it at my friend while explaining, which was rude, condescending, and completely inappropriate. I then had to ask four more times for the Coke I originally ordered before it was finally brought to the table. When the bill arrived, I was charged for both the coffee and the Coke. I calmly explained that I did not order the coffee and did not drink it. Carlos snapped back, "Well if you didn't order it, what is that right there?" while pointing to the untouched coffee cup. He seemed visibly irritated that I expected my bill to be corrected. To top it all off, we were rushed out almost immediately after finishing our food. Carlos took our payments and told us we needed to leave because he needed the table for other guests. While I understand the restaurant is busy and others may have been waiting, being told outright to leave was shocking and incredibly unprofessional! The food itself was good -- which makes the service even more disappointing. Spending nearly $80 on breakfast should not come with hostility, incorrect charges, and being treated like an inconvenience. Management should seriously evaluate how their servers interact with patrons and provide additional training. Good food does not excuse poor service, and this level of treatment is unacceptable.

Both were very good. The avocado toast had a distinct lemon taste to it. The berry and goat cheese were excellent. The goat cheese, and the sweet berries made a great combination. For our main meals, we shared the eggs Benedict Trio, the Chilaquiles, the berry lemon croffle, and the banana foster French toast. The eggs Benedict Trio comes with a choice of three eggs Benedict from their menu. We had the original with Canadian bacon, the green chili pulled pork and the crabcake. Everyone loved the green chili pulled pork. The Chilaquiles came with your choice of red or green salsa. I chose the green one. It was a little spicy. It came with two eggs. I thought that it was missing some cheese. It could've also used a little bit more salsa. The banana foster French toast was to die for. Very good and definitely tastes like banana foster. The croffle was a great addition to our meal. We thought it was very good. Half of us had never had a croffle and now we are in love with them. They did give us a free desserts as we were celebrating my friend's birthday. For drinks I had the elderflower spritz. It's a little on the sweet side for me. The sangria was perfect. My friends had the bloody Mary and they liked them. They have inside and outside seating. They do take reservations. There's parking on site, but shared with the other businesses. The Waitress very nice. She was working the inside and the outside, But we never had an issue getting her attention or with any of our requests

So of course, I order the Paster Verde and add shrimp. While waiting for my dish I decide to order a Chispa on the rocks (think of a skinny margarita) since I didn't have to go back to work. The drink is well made and strong. When my pasta comes out it is plated well and garnished with half cut cherry tomatoes. The green sauce is a creamy poblano sauce that definitely provides a different flavor profile than traditional tomato-based sauces but it's a nice change and it pairs really well with the grilled shrimp. The cherry tomatoes are a nice touch. Overall, I really enjoyed the staff, food and drinks at El Catrin and I look forward to coming back and trying their breakfast menu.

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic.
