Today was good. Light traffic. Fast food. Everything was great. Although potatoes are not French fries so I was disappointed in the special

Hatch Cafe and Bistro is one of those places that immediately makes you slow down and settle in. Tucked into two charming former homes it feels like a Hill Country escape even though it is just minutes from 281. We stopped in for brunch and everything delivered. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with avocado bacon and eggs on a buttery croissant and paired it with fresh fruit. Simple on paper but executed beautifully. Every bite was rich balanced and satisfying. My husband went with the salad and it was genuinely impressive. The presentation was gorgeous and the dressing deserves its own spotlight. It was bold bright and absolutely addictive. Their coffee also stood out. I still do not know where they source it but I will be going back to find out because it was smooth flavorful and memorable. On the way out I grabbed a slice of strawberry cake and I have not stopped thinking about it since. Light moist perfectly sweet and honestly close to dessert perfection. Between the cozy atmosphere the little outdoor library and the thoughtful details everywhere Hatch feels special. This place is a gem and I already cannot wait to return.

I haven't eaten here in a while. They have added more areas to eat as they've gotten more popular which is nice. But the server still didn't seem to be "present." I told him I didn't eat pork, and he replied he could add ham instead. Ok.... I had to remind him ham is pork. They did substitute a chicken breast upon my request. I then asked him which of the two coffees had more foam (froth), and he couldn't tell me. So I just went with the Americano. The Sandwich and coffee were both good, but nothing out of this world. My suggestion is to educate your servers on menu items to better serve your customers. I'll be back because I love helping local businesses.

I have been wanting to try Hatch for a long time and it did not disappoint! It is a very popular spot. When I got there, I saw that there were a lot of people and I was worried that we would be waiting for a long time. Nope! We were seated and served right away. They have a really big menu with lots to try. My mother-in-law had a kolache which was top-notch. I really loved the cinnamon roll, eggs, and bacon dish, but there's a ton of other things on the menu I really want to try. The ambience is cool. I love the part of town. It's in an indoor and outdoor seating areas are both really nice. The staff are great. Definitely going to come back soon.

The food portions were generous and well prepared. The wife, my mother, and I had the waffle breakfast...two Belgian waffles, a scrabbled egg, and two thick slices of bacon.they drank water. I had an horchata latte that was very tasty. The diner was small, but spacious and well lit. The service was outstanding, attentive, and ready to please. We will visit regularly when visiting my mother.

Many people talk about playing golf when they retire or spending more time on their favorite hobby, however, mine would be to travel to every interesting small town to have breakfast. This place would be perfect and a must to start off on and definitely made me consider turning in my resignation on Monday. Decided to flip the script and have our desert first. Call me crazy, but when you try the lemon and cherry strudel, then you will understand why. It's the first thing that caught my attention when we walked in and I had to put my desire to rest, otherwise I wouldn't be able to eat my breakfast fast enough to get to it. After my taste buds were in spa like relaxed mode, our main entrees arrived. The Hatch omelette for me, and wifey went down the sugar road and got the eggs and waffles. Magnificent! The outside restaurant has that small town county charm that I sure attracts locals, but finding this on Yelp got us here. There is outside and inside modest dinning, a bit warm for these hot summer days, but the pleasant servers made up for it. The hardest part was leaving on a full stomach and not loading up with bakery goodies on the way out. Perhaps, next time I won't have such restraint.

Cute lil mom and pop off Bulverde rd.. Great food, friendly service. Bakery items looked amazing. Lot of people drop in for coffee and pastries. I had the hatch French toast (Made with one of my fav drinks..Licor 43) my husband had the hatch breakfast. Both were fresh and delicious. Meals are made to order and the servers deliver them fast... small restaurant worth a try tucked in the bulverde area off 281.

This is such a precious hidden gem! Super cute decor indoor and outdoor! Inside you will find beautiful stained glass and pothos in vintage looking vases on almost every table. The service is absolutely amazing, everyone is super attentive and quick to get you seated, drinks ordered, and great assistance with recommending items on the menu. The coffee was very smooth and bold, not bitter. I drank it black but with cream and sugar on my refill. The lemon cheese pastry was served warm and just had a pinch of sweet with a kiss of tart, soft inside, lightly crisp outside, and gently and perfectly warmed. The removal of one star would have to be for the main dishes. My French toast was not very hot at all, the flavor would good but could've been amazing if it was hot fresh off the pan. It seemed like it was brought out about 5 minutes after it was done. Also, my husband got the breakfast croissant sandwich with turkey, egg, and cheese and the egg was very unevenly distributed. The sandwich was cut in half and almost all the egg was on one half. His food also wasn't very hot, which was strange because there was only one other couple in there with us so it wasn't super busy at that moment. Nonetheless, I definitely want to go back and try them again, I will just be sure to reiterate I would like my food brought out hot, even if that means we aren't all getting our food at the same time, it's not that serious. They do have an awesome menu and also serve cocktails.

    Chilaquiles

Chilaquiles were hot and delicious, reminded me of Mexico City. We had great service and hot coffee. Highly recommended.

Ever seen The Daytripper tv show? Chet travels around Texas exploring restaurants and things to do. After seeing the Hatch Bakery on the show, I had to try it. We went for lunch and they were packed. They have a great variety of sandwiches on the menu, but I wanted what Chet had, the ham and Brie sandwich, while Glenda got the Pro turkey sandwich. Just imagine Black Forest ham, Brie cheese, sliced apples, pineapple jam, jalapeno pesto, and mayo on toasted house bread. It was delicious! I love something different! And they had good tea too. Glenda is super picky about her tea. Well, if you're ever in Bulverde, Texas, drop in . You'll love it!

Great service, especially considering one of us was 3 years old. They are not widely known as neat eaters, and I'm sure half his pancake syrup ended up is his lap

    Tiny Fruit Cup
    Peyton K.

I got two turkey sandwiches, a bag of chips, a fruit cup, and a Horchata Latte for $50. $17 (each) for turkey sandwiches is wild. The sides were a tiny fruit cup and a bag of chips. Some of my fruit was old/rotten. Either browning or wrinkled. It's a cute place, but it's very small and crowded. The sandwiches were good (fresh and made from scratch), but at the end of the day, they are turkey sandwiches lol. Turkey sandwiches are not worth $17 a piece in my opinion. Prices are MAYBE worth it if you were paying for ambience or service, but that is not the case. Save your money and go to Jersey Mikes. You can get more for less.

Me and the wifey shared a parillada that included pollo, fajitas, sausage for the meats and rice & beans for the sides. Even though the pollo lacked enough of that highly desired Achiote spice, it was good enough to come back and order again. However the fajitas and sausage were a bit bland for my taste. I found it was definitely better when dipped into the green salsa first. The beans also needed a boost of flavor, so adding pepper and red salsa did the trick for me. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and worth dining inside for lunch, if you have the chance. My guess, the future success for this restaurant will depend on a steady amount of families coming here for take out after a long work week. Either way, glad it's here and Buena suerte!

They asked my name for the order but I looked around and it was just me. I got my order within 10 minutes and I enjoyed the entire place to myself with great music. Food: the chicken was piping temperature hot but lacked seasoning and flavor. I don't mind lack of seasoning but there was no chipotle and no spicy flavor at all. It was just breaded and deep fried chicken but it was breaded well with nice fresh tomato, crunchy iceberg lettuce, a few pickles. I did ask for jalapenos but could not find them. The description mentions pepper jack cheese but my sandwich did not have any cheese or the slice was so thin that I did not see or taste it. The chicken breast was tender, juicy and temperature hot but the breast to bun ratio was off. Too much bun compared to chicken breast and some bites were all bread. The curly fries were super temperature hot and perfect for me since there was no added salt. Who doesn't love curly fries?! My sister is a member and hosted her 50th birthday here, so we expected a much higher level of organization and service. The party had already started and the rest of our group was there--we arrived late due to work and ordered food immediately when we got there. Right after placing our order, we were told we had to leave soon, so we asked to cancel it. Instead of handling this professionally, a staff member (River Dan) laughed and told us the food was "almost ready" because it had supposedly been placed 15 minutes earlier--which was not true. Another person in our party had ordered the exact same pizza before we did and was still waiting on theirs. We canceled our order, and their pizza didn't come out until about 10 minutes later. That makes it very clear ours was not "about to come out" like we were told. The explanation we were given simply didn't add up. Throughout the evening, staff seemed confused about orders. Drink service was also frustrating. I asked what a "zinpom" was, was told it was basically a juice wine, declined it, and specifically ordered a Sangiovese--yet I was still given the zinpom and then it was attempted to be charged to us. What made things worse was how the event itself was handled. My sister was never clearly given an end time when reserving the table. We were only told to leave about 15 minutes before the cutoff. At other wineries, guests are usually allowed to move to a general seating area after a private event ends, but here the only option was to leave entirely. Overall, the lack of communication, poor organization, and dismissive attitude from staff really overshadowed what should have been a special celebration. We expected much better, especially for a member-hosted event. If this is how members are treated, especially those who continue to frequent this place despite ongoing service issues, I can't imagine how non-members are treated
