My daughter had this place on her list of places to check out. I am so very glad she did. Upon entering this location - Stone Oak - walk to the back counter to place your order, but beware, the case of delicious looking, freshly baked pastries will get you!! It was hard to choose, we settled on the Monkey Bread, one Pink Concha, and Blueberry Croissant. Heavenly!! Next we placed an order of The Lobster Bowl - Lobster Sautéed In Butter, Celery, Dill, Parsley, Lemon Zest, Chives, Garlic, With Fresh Cucumber with Half Organic Spring Mix/Half White Rice with Vegetables. Wow this was so fresh and delicious. You can add Avocado or Bacon or Jalapeños for an additional charge (each). We chose not to at this time. It came with a two versions of sauce, a simple chipotle and a verde sauce. My daughter likes the red sauce I liked the Green sauce. To each their own! We also ordered two large Strawberry Mimosas, Lord I wished we had gotten only ONE to share. But boy are they good!! Upon ordering and paying they give you a number to place on the table, bringing out your order when completed. We did share the bowl, we had too many pastries to check out and the bowl was large enough to divide between us. There are plenty of tables/chairs/outdoor seating for everyone. Got together with some friends to have brunch and Mimosas. It was the first time for one friend. It wasn't very busy as it was a cloudy morning and there was ample seating. Took a little while til the line was moving in the entree ordering side, though. I ended up ordering Avocado Toast with 2 poached eggs and we got a Mimosa Kit to share with all 3 of us since it was the most cost-effective. Individually if we each bought a large Mimosa, it would've been $11 ea/$33 for 3. It was nice as we were brought a bottle of Avissi which I looked up and is Prosecco, had a carafe of Orange Juice and we asked for Strawberry Puree as an enhancement. That cut the tartness. One friend ordered the Sunny-Side Up Croissant sandwich with a side of Fideo. The other friend ordered a Chipotle Chicken Salad which had a good amount of sliced chicken.They gave 2 sauces and I think it might have been like a Cilantro Lime sauce? My eggs were perfect but needed some Tabasco or Cholula which the server said they didn't have, just a Chipotle seasoning. I remembered the last time I was here, they didn't have any Tabasco. I find that strange. I didn't like the flavor of the Chipotle seasoning as it was a little spicy and smoky but I don't like the flavors on my Entree with Eggs. Next time I'll bring my own bottle. Everyone liked their meals and one friend ordered an Almond Croissant to go and another pastry. The volume can be loud when it's crowded. This restaurant has become viral last year. They opened up on east 1604 San Antonio. I went at the right time, there was no long line. I ordered the miel coffee. Honey coffee is a unique twist on traditional coffee that combines the natural sweetness of honey with the bold flavors of coffee. Also ordered avocado toast which is served on a large plate that can be shared. It filled the plate. Also ordered a tequila crescent, that was just the perfect combination of soft and fluffy. The bakery has a plethora of large pastries. That make your eyes bigger than your stomach. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is inviting. This place does not disappoint. read more

I have now officially been to one of their locations and I've got to say that I'm so excited they are finally closer to me! I'd like to be fair and say that I really don't come here much for the pastries, I mostly come for the steak salad which has to die for. But this evening my husband had a sweet tooth so we decided to stop by here since they were open until eight. I got the Tres leches cake with strawberries and it wasn't my favorite. I felt like it tasted a little bit too milky and I outgrew drinking plain milk, a long time ago. My husband's pastry had cream cheese and guava, I don't remember the name of it, but it was absolutely delicious and I wish I would've gotten that. The service and ambience is amazing just like the other locations, everything is very aesthetic and colorful. This was our first time dining here, and overall it was an okay experience, but not one we plan to repeat. I ordered the Hawaiian sandwich and my husband had the Cuban. Both sandwiches were decent. The Hawaiian pork was a bit dry, but the pineapple and jalapeño helped add moisture and flavor. The Cuban was solid and well put together. We also purchased pastries. Unfortunately, they looked much better than they tasted. The puff pastry was dry, although the strawberry croissant was good and the highlight of the pastries we tried. What really took away from the experience was the ordering process. Even after being seated, we had to stand in a long line to order, which felt chaotic and inefficient. The noise level inside was also very high, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. While the food itself was acceptable, the overall atmosphere and process didn't work for us, and it's not a place we're interested in revisiting. read more

When driving by, I saw so many cars in the parking lot and I now know why. The food here is so good! I came on a lunch break to get something aside from the usual fast food and I'm glad that I did. I got the turkey sandwich on a croissant with the lentil soup which was so filling and flavorful. I was happy that I was able to sit down and enjoy a nice meal and get some work done as well. They do have public WiFi which is a plus in this day and age so if you need to get some work done you can definitely do that here as well. I do love going to La Panadería at this location in San Antonio, such a cozy breakfast/brunch spot. The setup is super easy: you order at the counter and the cashier gives you a table number stand for your order, find a seat, and bingo!, they bring your food out to you. They've got a really nice variety of dishes, pastries, and sweets, whether you're eating there or just grabbing something to go. Everything I've had has been fresh and really good. Definitely one of my go-to spots in town! P.S. This place usually gets crowded on weekdays from 11:00 to 13:00 and late afternoons, besides all day weekends. read more

This place is one of a kind, the service is great the staff is friendly and during the busy times the staff do a great job with seating and organizing groups and customers so that all have a place to sit. I absolutely love the food, the Panaderias are by far the best in the city. The resell also offers other breakfasts, various coffees, and other drinks including alcohol. The ambiance is beautiful the decor follows tradition Mexican art with vibrant colors. My wife had the steak sandwich and it was delicious the steak was cooked perfectly. I myself had the lobster roll just to give it a try, the lobster was fantastic and seasoned perfectly although the only thing I would change is the type of bread it is sandwiched between. I think it was a rolled croissant which was falling apart but it was still very good. Highly recommend this place as a great breakfast and brunch spot for just you or large groups. read more

Walking in, I was immediately greeted by a lovely old gentleman that pointed me towards the order counter. I only needed to get a half dozen mini conchas to go, the line was long, but I decided to go ahead in to order. The line moved extremely fast and I was able to gawk at all of the pan dulces in the pastry display case. The mini conchas were delicious as always and the cafe con leche I ordered to go was perfect. I was finally able to check out the new Stone Oak location, and the place was very lively. The food was good, though a bit more sauce would've been nice since it was slightly dry. The girl taking my bread order seemed a little slow and honestly looked like she didn't really want to be there. The bread did taste good and fresh, but I wouldn't recommend buying more than you plan to eat that day or within a couple of days because it does get hard. I have been to two different Panaderias with really great experiences. This is the newest location and maybe they are still working out some kinks. Upon arrival I waited for a couple of parties to be seated and then it was my turn. My party was not there yet but they seated me right away while I waited for my friends to arrive. As the line was getting longer to order we went ahead and got in line. The people in front of me were taking a while to decide what to order. So it took us a minute to place our order. When I was heading back to our table that has a little reserve sign on it, the staff was already clearing it out and removing chairs. I thought they had a system in place. I got upset and I told the guy hey this is my table. It has a reserve sign on it. He still took a chair which was fine but I found it pretty rude after we followed the instructions on how to get our table and place our order. So if you show up please be sure to leave a jacket or something. It's 80° in January. We didn't have a jacket or sweater to leave behind. All of our orders arrived separately. Mine was first. So I had to politely wait for the rest of my party to get their food before eating. It took another 15 minutes to get our drink order. And when they finally arrived there was one missing. One of my friends was the last to arrive and seeing the line and the hassle she didn't even bother to place an order. She said she had a decent breakfast and wasn't hungry but the place is a bit stressful with so many people and all the craziness. I don't really blame her but I felt bad. I was not as impressed with the food. The bacon and eggs were a little dry. The bread was a little toasty and not fluffy. There was no salsa and after a while I thought about it that they didn't offer me the option of the lentil soup versus the black bean soup. I would've ordered the lentil but I got the black bean. That was tasty but not my preference. Perhaps they need to bring more experience management from the other stores here to get them off the ground because I don't think I'll come back to this location. read more

Ahhhhh I'm soooo happy for this new location!! I love love loooove La panaderia! My sis and I were out running errands and I searched for La panaderia and this one came up. When we arrived there was lots of balloons outside and it was somewhat crowded. I asked an employee when they opened and he said today!!! This is a TX staple and one of my favorite brunch/lunch restaurants! The food quality is great and so is the selection. Their pan/bread is top tier! I have never been a huge fan of "conchas" and this is the only place I will eat them from! Service is so amazing at all locations! They are so attentive, kind, and accommodating! My first visit to La Panadería Stone Oak was the Bomb.com! It was a vibe! Completely different atmosphere from the other locations. We went about 6 pm on a Monday night. The staff members were so sweet and their tip jar was deservedly overflowing. The music was a cool loungey playlist. I felt more like I was at a cool bar than a bakery. In fact, I think they should take it a step further and create La Panadería à la noche. Lol not sure if that translates to after dark but it was the perfect atmosphere to nosh and catch up with my girlfriend on a weeknight. And they do offer coffee drinks with alcohol if you care to imbibe. Enjoy! read more

Ive been to several La Panaderias and this one is my favorite! It's at the former Brick House location off of 1604. It's beautiful and spacious, with plenty of seating (both tables and a sofa/lounge area). The staff is friendly and efficient, and service was great. The conchas are my absolute favorites - light and airy with the perfect crust thats not overly sweet. They had holiday conchas today, but I stuck to my tried and true white and pink. My kids had the avocado toast and the eggs your way, and both loved their meals. Im glad this location is close to home because I'll be coming back frequently! read more

At the front the line can either go left or right to place your order. After receiving your order number you can select your seat as it is open seating. The conchas are delicious! It was clean and spacious, plenty of tables available on a Saturday. The iced Hortacha and Tequila Crossant were "ok". The Croissant was a bit dense, not airy like a french pastry. What can be improved upon is that in the pastry lin you are waiting for people with menus to decide what they want to order while your item is in hand and you are waiting for a cashier. It made the wait time immensly long since the groups of 3 or 4 in front of me did not seem to know what they wanted. Not a bad experience but I probably wont be back. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion but we did not like this place at all. Granted it's clean, pretty and the pan dulce is photogenic but that's where it ends. First of all this style of dining, standing in line and ordering at the counter is not my favorite, especially for expensive food. The line was to the door and took about 10-15 minutes to get to order, if you don't already know what you want, use this time to review the menu. Then at the register the system presents 22% tipping as the first option (I know we can change it but this is the first option that appears) and they don't even serve you at the table. When we got our food the taste was good but the croissants were overdone, too hard and too flakey like bite into it and it broke into pieces and I had to piece together my sandwich. The breakfast items we just average I mean just what you expect from a waffle but nothing worthy of Oh this is so delicious. We ordered Mexican hot chocolate and a Cortado and it didn't arrive until after we were done eating and I had to ask for it. I guess it was forgotten. The regular black coffee tasted/smelled like dishwater, it was gross, didn't finish and didn't refill. The pan dulce was very pretty but not all the much better than we can get at the local grocery store for less than half the price. It was as if we were being rushed out of there anytime I put something down on the table someone would pass by and ask if they could remove it. I don't believe quality and service meet price. And their fideo is mostly black beans and soup with some fideo. read more

The food overall is good if you're looking for a sandwich for breakfast or lunch. Most food choices are a variety of sandwich. They do have French toast and pastries as well but if you're looking for a traditional breakfast plate, breakfast tacos or burritos you won't find that. I do wish they offered more traditional Mexican pan dulce other than a few standards like conchas. Espresso drinks are good but not coffee house quality. Pricing is on the higher end and full table service is not provided, meaning you order at the counter, serve your own soft drink, condiments and napkins are not at the table. I would describe the ambience as modern, energetic, busy -especially on the weekends. Service has been consistently friendly the last 3 times I've visited. Worth trying but until there are additional menu options I probably won't be back. read more

So we came prior to closing at least by 15 minutes, let us order breads, we had ordered bowls, guy at the counter Joel was super nice and wanted to be helpful asked the kitchen and someone slammed the counter and yelled at us the kitchen is closed and said we put all the meat away- all the while the dining room is filled with people eating. And guess what can't have coffee either- if you close at a certain time your serve if the people walk in before or close your doors. No I'm not being a Karen this really did not feel nice. I stop often before clinic for a cookie croissant. Around 8-8:30 still cooking them cannot have, come before closing cannot get food I've met the owner at the broadway location and I'm sure if he knew this was going on he'd be upset.... Best service I have experienced. The workers were really helpful and patient. First time coming here and didn't know too much.
