The ambiance was honestly the best part of the experience -- the atmosphere was beautiful and had such a great vibe. Unfortunately, the food did not match the pricing or expectations at all. Everything came out in random batches instead of together, which made the dining experience frustrating. The fish and chips were extremely overpriced and the fish itself was mushy and soggy. The margarita flatbread was VERY bland with barely any flavor, and the "smash burger" was definitely not a true smash burger. On top of that, the drinks were insanely expensive for what you get -- my margarita was $18 for a tiny glass, and two shots of tequila were $15 each. To make things worse, we were told we couldn't order dessert because they had closed dessert service literally 5 minutes before. Overall, the prices are absolutely not worth the quality of the food or service. Very disappointed and unsatisfied with the experience. read more

I've been here several times in the past year and I've had a mixed bag of experiences. A couple months ago, myself and the table beside be had cold food come out. However, when I went yesterday and the another time, it was not an issue. I do like how their menu is unique and the chef changes up the menu frequently. The place is very spacious with a nice view of the city from the balcony. There's indoor and outdoor seating and a nice happy hour. Duck confit salad: small fried duck piece didn't seem to fit with the sweet pear and dressing. There was almost too much lettuce and dressing has mixed reviews--last time was great but this time it tasted like oil. Filet mignon- so far my favorite on the menu. Not too heavy, and good cut of steak cooked perfectly. Bison short rib- tender short rib, but very heavy meal. Kind of reminded me of pot roast. Romesco salmon: good solid meal. The fish was cooked just right and the sauce was delicious. They could use a little more sauce. Wings: Average sized wings cooked pretty crispy. Served with ranch. Not bad. Brussels and bacon: expect a pretty large serving for a side dish. Very tasty for Brussels! Burger: Kind of underwhelming. Patty itself was fast food quality and cooked well done. The server recommended it to me but I wouldn't get again. Not horrible, but not anything special either. read more

I showed up an hour later and they told me it would be 15 more minutes. I sat down in the hallway and they immediately sat a group of 3 that walked up with no reservation. So I left. The scene, the environment, the food.. all above standard. I went to have dinner wih a friend and was super impressed with Renee and her service. She stayed on top of it the whole night we were there. For drinks we tried the fall foliage, presentation was beautiful and the drink itself was delicious! Everything blended so well together. For dinner I had the braised bison, parsnip puree and sage buttered roasted carrots! I have never had parsnip before and was sure glad my first time was with Lumen8! Wiped my plate clean! To end our night we had an espresso martini per Renee's recommendation, so glad we agreed, we would've missed out on a perfect nightcap. Lumen8 Rooftop Social is located on the 8th floor of the Element Hotel that is shared with Springhill Suites in Colorado Springs. I stayed at the Element Hotel on 2 separate business trips and got to check out Lumen8 during my stay. I came during the Fall for my first trip and the weather was perfect. The views from the rooftop during the evening was beautiful and I can only imagine how much more beautiful it is to see the backdrop of the mountains. My colleague and I had drinks in Lumen8's patio and they really made the cocktail strong. I believe the one I had was called Lumen8 Spritz. During my second trip, I came back up to have a light dinner inside their dining area since it was a cold 24°F winter. I ordered a Lumen8 Caesar and added Grilled Chicken, and had a Rosé to start. To end the meal, I asked if they would jazz up my scoop of vanilla ice cream with raspberry coulis and they made it happen. Of course, it was an extra charge but I absolutely loved that they accommodated my request - it was perfect IMO! Each visit, the service I received during my experience here was great. They really went above and beyond to provide a wonderful experience. Overall, this was a great spot to enjoy some drinks, the city views, and a delicious dinner with great service! read more

Lemon8 Rooftop Social has amazing views, especially at sunset. You can see the whole mountain range, and it really makes the experience stand out. We had a few drinks and they were good--well made and enjoyable, even if not over-the-top unique. What really makes this place special is the atmosphere. It has a relaxed, elevated vibe that's perfect for a date night or even a casual evening out. Overall, it's worth visiting for the views and the setting alone. Probably the beat view in Colorado Springs! We came once on a rainy day and were able to see several rainbows over the city. Service was efficient and friendly. Plates had a nice presentation and there was a nice selection of plates for all kinds of eaters. This is nice for a date night, a night out with friends or even a drink at the bar alone. My fiancé took me here as a surprise for my birthday. The hostess Crystal was friendly. We sat in the balcony area which looked over the mountains it was beautiful. We missed the sunset but the glowing was still radiating. The food was amazing we had the Ahi Poke, Fish and chips, Chicken Piccata and a scoop of Dragonfruit Sorbet. Cocktails were delish! Had the hot wings, which were juicy and not overdone, and the hummus. Oooo-ee. Lots of garlic but I love garlic! Had the chicken and fish and chips for dinner. Chicken was a bit dry, my only complaint. The fish and chips, however, were epic! I'd get that again. Splurged on dessert, a hot cookie in a steaming hot little pan with ice cream. We stopped into Lumen8 on our first night stay at our hotel. They have a free happy hour for guests Monday-Thursday from 4-630. It includes a small cheese tray and a drink. We had no problem being seated at the bar at 5pm on a Thursday. The ambiance is fantastic. I loved all the hanging plants. The staff were very friendly. I will definitely come back and check out other items on the menu. Their patio/roof also looks amazing to be experienced in warmer months. read more

The atmosphere is modern and very nice inside. The outside area is very nice with great mountain views and fire pits to help keep you warm. As it was, it was evening & dark, plus the weather was wet/snowy and we only had a glimpse of mountains as we got into town, then never again, as the clouds hung low. Husband had the asparagus side as his appetizer & it was busy (bacon & shaved parm) but good. Gorgeous views with mediocre, overpriced hotel food. We're locals who came here for brunch on a Sunday based on some of the positive reviews about the setting. We started off with the torn tots and were disappointed to discover it's just wide-cut fries that had been cut up and then cooked - definitely not a tot texture. Our entrees were bland and the fries were clearly previously frozen. I asked for a side of ranch that never came, and service was slow for drinks. The food was not bad, but I would also not call it "good." My husband got the pulled pork sliders and they didn't have much sauce. I had originally wanted to order the fried chicken sandwich but we were told they were out of several menu options. I got the Wagyu burger instead and it was decent; lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered a glass of rosé and when the waitress brought it out, it was in a champagne glass and bubbling. I asked: "is this rosé?", and she said "yes". I think they accidentally gave me a prosecco rosé, and the waitress did correct it once I pointed it out. When we got our check we noticed we were charged more for the Wagyu burger than what the menu states, and asked our server to please correct. Overall I would come back here just for drinks and the views, but the food is lacking and overpriced for what you get. Service was mediocre and slow, and I would also verify the check is accurate before paying. This place has so much potential because of the upscale surroundings and excellent views, so I was genuinely sad to have this experience. read more

I definitely recommended if you're staying at the hotel and if you're in the area visit for a cocktail and great meal. We decided to go to this restaurant for dinner on Valentine's Day and for brunch the next morning, but both experiences were disappointing. First of all, the service was impeccable. The host, bartender and servers were fast, friendly, welcoming, accommodating and professional. Loved them all! The views were wonderful and the atmosphere was very nice for celebrating. The food, however, was subpar and not as expected for the price level. The menu offered for Valentine's Day was very limited, uninspiring and disappointing: a choice of Salmon, Buffalo or Gnocchi. No steak, no shellfish, as would be anticipated for this holiday. The Corn Chowder was awful and I sent it back. The Buffalo Short Rib was tender, but boring. Gnocchi was heavy, dense, gluey and not good. The service, ambiance and convenience (we were staying in the hotel) saved the experience from receiving a lower rating from us because of the second-rate food, so we decided to give it another try for brunch in the morning. Sadly, the food at brunch was also substandard. Again service was wonderful and our Server really tried to make up for our bad experience. We ordered the standard Bacon, Eggs, Sausage, Potatoes and Toast. The toast was dry (no butter provided) and our bacon and toast were both burnt, but the cook had flipped the burnt sides down on the plate, so our Server missed it. We sent them back and the replacements were also unacceptable: Bacon was almost raw now and the toast was still burnt. Very frustrating, and we won't be back, nor will we recommend Lumen8 to Colorado Springs friends. read more
