I'm about 85% sure I am now royalty in three different countries after eating here. I walked into Hatsatoun and it was so peaceful I thought I'd accidentally booked a private tasting! Staff made me feel like a long-lost cousin returning from Russia.They speak Russian, Armenian, and English, so you can broke da mouf in three languages while you enter a meat-induced trance. Now, let's talk about the food: The Lamb: "Legit" doesn't cover it. This lamb was so tender it basically apologized for melting in your mouth with a RPG of flavor. The Kababs: Absolute legends. I'm pretty sure these kababs could broker world peace if we just put them in a room with world leaders for twenty minutes. Seriously the BBQ here is next level. Gotta mention the vibe too....people usually rent the space out for private parties but NO INE KNOWS it's a LEGIT restaurant too! It was quiet when I went (aka empty) and, I felt mafioso rolling in and getting THEE BEST service. I was halfway through my 14vpieces of Lamb and almost started giving a State of the Union to the empty chairs. We had booked a place for a birthday. We went there, they said they didn't have the food we ordered. There were almost 4-5 dishes, they said they didn't have anything else from the menu. I didn't even get the chance to try their food, a few items on the menu weren't even available to begin with. We called the manager and he claimed we had to order in advance for those items. The manager wanted to make it like it was the waitress's fault but clearly an item on the menu should be available anytime a customer asks. The manager also claimed that we should order them in advance by I called them three times before getting to the restaurant and no one told me about ordering them beforehand. This is a place where you go for great Mediterranean food and ambience. The dishes are authentic and the service was prompt. You feel like you are in a small quaint village with people you have known for years. I suggest trying the lamb chops or the sturgeon fish. My girl was looking for an Armenian restaurant, so we made the drive from the Inland Empire and were are so glad we did. From walking in to a quaint little village scene to be greeted by the owners in a very warm manner, we were delighted by the menu. Oh my goodness does not say enough, everything thing were ordered was quite simply delicious. I have never had such good lamb and the salad was off the charts. My bf and I were looking for Armenian food on Sunday night, and the more popular spots were all booked for Father's Day. Decided to try Hatsatoun and we were not disappointed. It was a bit awkward at first as we didn't know it was more of a banquet hall and not so much a traditional restaurant, but they were very welcoming and accommodating. We tried ordering a few things off the menu but were informed they were for parties only, but they checked with the kitchen and gave us a list of available items to order. We decided to try the Armenian salad and the red trout. The salad was delicious with the juiciest ripest tomatoes I've had in a looong time, and the trout was cooked to perfection and served with fresh dill and lavash. I was really impressed with the food and their hospitality, and would love to come back some time with a larger group so we can order more off them menu :) read more

Customer service is awful here. The server, who was lounging when we walked in did not greet us and when we asked for menus she said we don't have any. She basically came up to my table and said "what do you want". I asked about fish and kabob options. She responded with "do you want to know prices" and I said no. Then she proceeded to insult me by saying " you might not want to spend this much on fish" First of all, your job is to be a server not my accountant or advisor. Also, why are you encouraging me to not spend my money here???!!??! I decided not to dine here. The wet carpet smell combined with her ignorance was enough to make me leave. Disgusting service. They should all be ashamed. We walk in with family on Tuesday night wanting to have a nice meal. We chose a few items from the menu but the waiter came back with WAY more than we ordered, both food and drinks. The food kept coming and we thought nothing of it and thought it was all part of what we ordered. We get a bill at the end and saw that they charged us for all the extras that was brought to us without us ordering or asking for them. Most of the appetizers were left untouched and the bottles of sodas were unopened as it was not ordered or even liked by our tasting. We were so upset and asked the owner to explain to us why he brought out items we hadn't ordered and we're charged. He had the audacity to tell us that just because he brought them out it didn't mean we had to eat it and he was simply planning to take the uneaten items back and not charge us. ( I guess they reuse their food for other customers). We will never go back as they tried to outsmart us by overcharging. We were by the way the only occupied table at the restaurant and I guess they saw us as their only means of making money that night. Pathetic! read more
