Yes, DFW, Hattie B's has arrived in our region, and the same delicious chicken has come with it. I went in with side eye and doubt and left will a full stomach and a thirst for milk. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The red neon bars that line the roof act like a beacon leading you straight to Hattie's B. The white building has plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and even cornhole (although it seems misplaced). It's like someone took the Hattie B's in Nashville and imported it straight into Dallas. It's fast casual, so T-shirts and flipflops will fit right in. 1 Star. Service - You get in line, order, get a number, and the friendly staff will bring out our order. On our visit, the staff noticed the line getting long, so they opened up another station and took our order. They were very friendly and extra patient as we looked over the menu. 1 Star. Food - I had the fried chicken sandwich with the Sweet & Smoky Dry Rub and a side of Baked Beans. The chicken was plump, juicy, and easily eclipsed the size of the pillow soft bun. The chicken was piping hot, but the Cole slaw cooled the heat and the bun with Comeback Sauce held it all together. And the Baked Beans were the perfect side. Soft, sweet, and packed with bacon in every bite. But perhaps the best bite I had was the Nashville Hot Chicken Wings that had extra fried craggle to hold the extra heat. It's a slow burn that I countered with Banana Pudding (of course). A fantastic end to a fantastic meal. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. You can customize your sandwich any way you want. It's because they have varying degrees of hotness!! Upon this realization, I retired to play it safe and opted for mild. I ordered the quarter chicken meal with baked beans and honey mustard on the side. They have several sauce options including ranch and their own comeback sauce. Unless you're someone who loves your face being on fire I would recommend sticking with mild. It gives you the best balance of flavor and heat. But they do have hotter. We always have a good visit here at Hattie b. We do like the new location. It def makes it easier to park and dine in. At their old location, I'd normally order to go bc I didn't want to bother with parking. I do feel like their spice level has weakened here. I used to get the medium spice and it was enough. Now it did not hit at all. So I think I'll try hot next time. We love the potato salad the most. It is very good every time. I liked the Mac and cheese, my hubby was okay on it. The sides included mac and cheese as well as french fries. The sandwich was the star of the show for me and was fantastically fried and seasoned. A chicken breast fried to perfection on a soft white toasted bun topped with well executed cole slaw. Almost perfect. They come check on you at your table. there's tons of seating all over much larger than the other location. The food is amazing. I like a little so I usually go for the hot. I also prefer the bone in chicken over the chicken sandwiches. Make sure to eat the bread soaked in delicious spices. My favorite sides are the mac & cheese and the collard greens. I got some food to go and I love this place it's usually always great but today was nottt, as you can see the tenders were barely seasoned on one side and not at all on the side shown. Once the Deep Ellum location closed (sadly near where I often stay downtown), I was happy to hear a new venue was opening in the Dallas area. I stopped by twice in October 2024 to try out the newly minted venue. Having been to several locations across the nation (most at the original location in Nashville), I know what Hattie B's heat levels should be. For my palate, hot is a the perfect level of tolerable heat. No big deal going down, digesting, or aftermath (shall we say). Damn hot--which I often order as well--should make me tear up while eating, stomach begs for dairy, and causes eye swelling struggle when I take out my contacts for the night. Two different visits, two different weeks, same meal (as seen for check-in photos)...sadly, the same experience--NO heat. While Damn Hot *looked* darker/brick red (like it typically does) my body responded no differently. And the truest test--taking out my contacts--wasn't anything challenging. Yelper Amari J. confirmed my challenge identifying too little heat as well. My take away--the new Turtle Creek/Oak Lawn site has a few kinks to work out if we're to put it on the same par as other locations. I'm unsure of Yelper Rick V. and Brandon B.; maybe they're not used to heat levels? I'm a HUGE fan of Hattie B's. If there's a location near where I'm traveling, it's a must visit for one of my meals. I can say the staff is crazy friendly, attentive, and supportive. If they can make the heat levels the same as other locations, I'll be back to enjoy the beautiful spice I know and love. read more

The food is terrible and shouldn't even be allowed to use the name. We ordered medium and it had no seasoning whatsoever. I had grilled and my husband had breaded. The grilled chicken was lukewarm and chewy. They had only been open ten minutes. The Mac and cheese had the signature flavor but was very soggy noodles. I was looking forward to trying Hattie B's in because it is well known for delicious, spicy fried chicken. I was impressed by the lively atmosphere and friendly staff. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside but I found it lacking in seasoning and not evenly coated. I went for "Hot" and "Damn Hot" and was underwhelmed by the heat and overall flavor. For ease of comparison I'll just say that I prefer the chicken from Dave's. The sides received good reviews from our table as well. I especially enjoyed the Mac N Cheese which was creamy and unique with the pimento cheese. A downside from my visit was that it took 20 minutes for my food to be brought out. Literally, 20 minutes for a 3 piece chicken tender plate with Mac And Cheese. After 15 minutes I followed up with the front counter and they looked around frantically to see no food waiting then told the kitchen they needed number 3 ASAP. The food came out after 5 more minutes and the person who delivered it was very apologetic. She even offered a complaint art dessert for the wait. read more

Came here a few months ago and the food and banana pudding was delicious! Long line almost out the door, but it went fast. We ate there and the atmosphere was great. Awesome customer service. Well, we finally came back this past weekend and ordered the half chicken and it was horrible! Terribly overcooked. The banana pudding was worse. It was like the cookies covering snot.
