For dinner time they dim the lights to provide a cozy and romantic setting. Our server Jamie was very friendly and patient. She brought us waters right away while we looked at the menu. We ordered 2 Amsterdam blonde lagers to with our dinner. They served the beers in chioled mugs. The beer was smooth and refreshing. My wife ordered the Lamb rack and I ordered the 12 oz ribeye with peppercorn sauce from the Fall prix fixe menu $69 for 3 courses. There's a choice of appetizer and dessert. I got the Dicarlo Italian meatballs and Chocolate black out cake. The Italian meatball dish was served with garlic bread and basil tomato sauce. The garlic bread can be dipped in the tomato sauce. The mains were outstanding. The lamb rack was cooked perfectly and just the right amount of seasoning. The honey roasted potatoes and vegetables were a great compliment to the dish. The 12 oz ribeye was grilled to perfect medium rare and topped with peppercorn sauce. The garlic mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The chocolate black out cake was a nice way to celebrate my wife's birthday. The cake was rich and Overall the food was great and service was exceptional. The staff came by to take a photo for our special occasion. If you are in the Oshawa area I recommend this steakhouse.

I hung up the phone and called the KEG right away and made reservations. Our party of 10 had a great time at the KEG, service was great and the food was beyond delicious. The bill came to around $700 dollars. Wildfire missed out on a $700 sale, maybe you should run your business a bit more professional. I don't even want to give you a one star, but the KEG gets a 5 star.

The space is absolutely gorgeous--refined, comfortable, and very easy to navigate if you just follow the building signage. The happy hour menu is phenomenal value for a spot of this caliber. The popover with the roasted garlic and oregano butter is a must-order--flaky, warm, and rich. The classic Caesar salad was crisp and packed with generous bacon lardons and grana padano, while the beef skewers had great char with just the right amount of teriyaki sweetness and chili kick. Capped everything off with the monkey bread, warm spiced pecans, and cream cheese icing, which was incredible. Service was stellar throughout. Nicole took care of me and was attentive, warm, and paced everything seamlessly without ever making the meal feel rushed. Easily one of the best happy hour spots in the city--will definitely be back.

After hearing about some early growing pains, I purposely waited before visiting. But when Toronto…read moreLife hosted a special TL Insider dinner ($225 per person, inclusive of taxes and gratuities), curiosity won out. The prices listed below reflect the regular menu, though portions at the event were likely smaller than standard service. The evening began with a beef skewer ($31), featuring cubes of barbecued beef glazed in teriyaki and topped with plenty of chives. Unfortunately, consistency was an issue. Other guests raved about how tender theirs were, while mine arrived overcooked. It wasn't inedible, but it certainly wasn't tender. One of the restaurant's newer additions is its aged fish program, so I was eager to try the dry-aged salmon ($33). Listed as a "crudo," I expected delicate slices in a citrusy sauce, but it arrived as another skewer. The texture was undeniably smooth, with the dry aging removing any chewiness, but the salmon also developed a gaminess that lingered unpleasantly. A marinade or thinner slicing might help balance things out. I'm glad their signature Caesar salad ($24) remains excellent. It's beautifully balanced with acidity, savouriness, and thoughtful touches like buttery breadcrumbs and bacon bits that aren't rock hard. It's still one of the better Caesars in the city, though tableside preparation now costs an additional $10. Fans of tartare will likely appreciate the beef tartare ($41), which is prepared traditionally with minimally dressed hand-cut beef. Personally, I wanted more contrast in texture or flavour, though tartare has never been my go-to dish. I did appreciate the accompaniments of buttery crostini and gem lettuce leaves, which offered a lighter way to enjoy it. And for fans like me, don't worry their cheese bread puffs still make an appearance (along with their take home chocolate muffins). What continues to shine at Jacobs is the steak itself. The 40-day dry aged striploin was cooked beautifully, developing a crust that locked in the juices while maintaining tenderness despite being a leaner cut. The seasoning is more restrained, which allowed the volcanic sea salt and chimichurri on the side to actually enhance the beef rather than overwhelm it. The pecorino broccolini ($22) had me almost finishing off the plate and is such a nice accompaniment with the rich beef. The only disappointment was the duck fat fries ($21), which arrived lukewarm and slightly stale, likely a casualty of serving a packed dining room. Dessert ended the evening on a high note. The crème brulee ($21) was fantastic with visible vanilla bean specks throughout the silky custard. The sugar topping was thin and delicate, avoiding that overly sweet crunch some versions suffer from. Served alongside a sizeable chocolate biscotti and a fragrant orange shortbread cookie, it's easily large enough to share. With the expanded dining room, the front-of-house team has clearly grown as well. The staff is younger and fresher-faced, so any old-school steakhouse stuffiness has largely disappeared. More importantly, the service remains polished and attentive, and we were well taken care of throughout the evening.

The ambiance is quite nice but the vibe was off for me. I couldn't put my finger on it at first but having reflected on the evening, I feel as though the staff was just condescending and 'fake'. I ordered the lobster tacos and the other guests I was with, both ordered the prime rib sandwich. They saw the sandwich delivered to another table and were impressed by the size and presentation. They, however, did not receive the same and were quite disappointed. That being said, I think consistency is lacking. My tacos were quite tasty and I was satisfied with my dish. If I were to go back, I would order it again. Overall, it's not a restaurant I would go out of my way to get to.

It was a wonderful atmosphere with soft instrumental music and the ability to hear the conversation of people at your table. To start, there was toasted bread with feta cheese and dill pickles. The starter salad was a huge supper entree size plate. The choice wax garden or Cesar. You could get the French Onion soup instead. Had the main Filet Peppercorn sauce. Asked for medium rare and it was amazing but it had a little much gravy for my liking. The baked potato side was a nice side (not too big) which came with butter and sour cream versus having french fries. Veggies were a few string beans, a slice of a big carrot and a piece of red sweet pepper. The plating of such fine expensive entrees was not very sophisticated. Thought it would be plated much nicer than it did. The server was very friendly and helpful. Chefs were accommodating to special requests and the food was excellent. Each dish has elevated twist, and the price is so reasonable and even generous for the quality. Cocktails are excellent (lots of line-ups). They also serve nice choices of local craft beers on tap. We ordered: (Food) #Cast Iron Baked Brie fresh baked brie with house-made wild berry compote, candied pecans, prosciutto, garlic crostini $17 : This served as perfect appetizer for 3 of us. Enjoyable. Variety of ways to enjoy the baked brie. #Canadian Striploin 7oz striploin, garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables: We tried different & great steak dish here before, and this one is also EXCELLENT - the on-point seasonings, perfectly med-rare. Roasted veggies and mashed potato leave its own flavour and texture with right amount of seasonings. #Stuffed Mushroom Ravioli stuffed with wild mushrooms, tossed in a beurre blanc sauce, topped with fresh Parmesan: I wished the ravioli itself had more mushroom-forward flavor, and the wrapper had more delicacy (in terms of thickness and texture). However, I loved the beurre Blanc sauce - it was foamy - making the butter-ly and creamy sauce feel light in the mouth. Nice hint of tangy-ness. #Herb Crusted Salmonwith garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables, and beurre blanc sauce: The same sauce as ravioli, that matched with salmon well. (Cocktails) #Fig Fizz: With Durham distillery Gin, Raspberry Liqueur, fig jam, lemon juice, honey syrup, soda # Lavender cosmopolitan # Passion Prosecco Martini # Spicy Hibiscus Margarita All the cocktails were presented beautifully. Today's highlight was Spicy Hibiscus Margarita. (Dessert) Chocolate Espresso Martini Cake rich vanilla cake, mascarpone, house-made chocolate espresso mousse $10: Essentially, tiramisu. lol. Nicely presented. This place is versatile for us. Just for snack, just for cocktails, just for local beer, and elevated food experiences. Promising satisfying experience in each occasion. This had all of that fine food fine booze but also great service! The only setback I had with my experience was the $46 additional lobster tail I ordered that was around the same size as one of the scallops on my scallop entrée.... If you're going to charge $46 for a lobster tail it should be fairly significant. I ordered a dry vodka martini (with a twist) with grey goose, it came sweet and with Smirnoff. A second try got me the grey goose but sadly it was again sweet and I didn't have the heart to send my drink back a second time fearing it might return with a human body fluid in it. The plastic straw was a nice touch too. I started with a Caesar, no croutons, it was a salad....that came with croutons. Followed by the Poke and Carpaccio. The Poke was bad, it tasted like it was 2 days old, places on a piece of nori that was soaked in 'tuna juice'. I sent it away. The carpaccio was salted into oblivion, no olive oil, no green to cut the richness, 4 crackers....just overall bad. The wine list reads like a gas station liquor store. No bubbly by the glass. No light reds. I guess I'll just have these two previously frozen rolls instead of edible food or drink. Overall I'm disappointed and I guess I should have known better, however, when in Rome.
