Haui's Life's A Beach is located in north Kihei on the south east corner across from the grocery store. Stopped in this evening to try out their happy hour and ended up with some Baja tacos and a One Mean Mai Tai. The maintai was decent, not terribly strong but not bad. The Baja tacos were the star of the show however. Lots of flavor, crispy and delicious. The kitchen closes at 8pm so make sure you allow enough time if you are hungry. The staff was friendly and informative and it was nice to see some Raiders swag being that we are from Las Vegas.

Came for karaoke and drinks! I believe they have karaoke every night. You just text your name and song request to a number and you are instantly added to a queue. Vibes were great and it was fun singing and cheering people on.

The service was extremely attentive, and we got to know each of the bartenders and staff. The environment was extremely welcoming and it was not too loud to carry a conversation. 6.22.26 UPDATE We…read moreoriginally had a disappointing experience due to slow service, limited attention from staff, and the lack of air conditioning during our visit. However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.

We ordered a 50/50 pizza of Chicken Thai-phoon which has a sweet chili sauce, tasty chicken, green papers, pineapple, basil, & cilantro. The kalua pork has bbq sauce, succulent pork, pineapple, & green onions. Both pizzas are unique, mouthwatering deliciousness that combine sweet, a bit o' heat, and lots of savory flavors along with textures. The unique sauces really amp these pizzas up with flavor. However, when we order next time, we'll likely ask for light sauce as even though it's incredibly tasty, it was on a little heavy for our preference. The tiki fries were also delicious! On one of our trips we polished off two baskets full! Savory with umami flavor and crunchiness, it's easy to have two baskets disappear quickly! Service is always friendly! You're sure to be greeted with a smile and good humor. In the afternoons and evenings there's live music sometimes and that just adds to the overall wonderful experience of hanging out here.

It has all the decorations of a tiki bar combined with a neighborhood dive bar. We seated ourselves and waited a while that we were about to leave before someone came up to us with menus. I ordered the velvet mai tai ($15) which was fine. The lychee-watermelon martini ($12) tasted very artificial and was not that good. We actually came back the day after with some friends thinking the service would be better. We were seated and later the server asked us if we knew what we wanted but we weren't even given menus. I ordered the zombie ($17) which tasted more of the juices and didn't have the spirit-forward flavor profile of a typical zombie. I wouldn't expect craft tiki cocktails here and I also heard that the pizza is popular here. They also have happy hour daily from 11am-6pm which includes $6 margaritas, $5 wells, and $4 Modelo on draft. There is also live music every day from 4-6pm.
