I only received a notification from Turo and an email, also from Turo. I reached out to CNX through the Turo app and asked what was going on, hoping it was a mistake. They said it was due to a recall on the car and offered to switch me into another car. I said, great. They never responded to my messages again. I offered to split my reservation if the issue was the length, no response. It was a horribly stressful few days as I scrambled to find another car. Turns out the Mach-E was recalled in March. Why they waited until June -- less than a week before my reservation -- is beyond me, unless they did not want to honor the price. Our messages are below. Rented a Hummer EV. Confirmed it the night before with CNX. As I was walking up to the car to start…read moremy trip after taking an uber from the airport, I texted him asking to unlock. THEN that's when CNX sent me a text saying they had to cancel my trip. Not one message or peep from them until I am at the car and my trip is about to start. After inspecting the Hummer it was obvious it was not a sudden issue. SUV was covered in pollen and dirt and owners personal belongings, gum, water bottles and keys were in plain site. It's obvious he lied to Turo that it was a mechanical issue in order to cancel it. Wasted my time and uber to and from the vehicle when he could have given me much more notice. It's obvious they have done this sort of cancellation before and know that Turo won't allow the customer to leave a bad review because the trip never happened. Precisely why they have a 4.9 on Turo and much worse on here. Stay clear of this shady company.

It may not be quite run like a professional chain of car rentals, but you will receive personalized care and a much more reasonable price. We rented two 15-passenger vans for Mexico (flew into San Diego airport) for a week and all went well! At first, I was hesitant because the price was almost half of what was quoted by EZ rent-a-van and it was hard to believe. I phoned Ryan and Carlos several times to get confirmation and ask questions. Though they are closed on weekends (family time), they get the vans ready ahead of time for rental and are available by phone. The drive was 10 minutes and the vans were ready to go on a Sunday. I paid Friday by phone/credit card on Friday, signed electronically and received the rental agreement. Ryan made sure that everything was good for us. Even, when last minute someone returned one of the vans we were going to use, damaged -- he got a replacement ready quickly. The vans themselves were fine - actually a relief that they weren't new - so we felt comfortable travelling in them. One did have a light come on that lasted, but it wasn't serious. We fit 15 persons and put luggage in a truck. Otherwise, it's ideal to have 11 passengers and then room for luggage in the last bench. We drove 3 hours from the border into the hills past Ensenada and that was fine with the Company. After our trip, we dropped the vans off on a Sunday and put the keys in the box. That was it! We will definitely be using Sun Diego Car Rental again and are grateful that the two vans fit right into our non-profit budget!
