I was in Prescott visiting my family who lives there for Christmas. We decided to make an afternoon trip to Jerome on 12/28. My family (mom, dad, sister) had been to Jerome several times before and mentioned several times that they wanted to eat at the Haunted Hamburger. They hadn't done so before "you have climb stairs to the top of the mountain" to get there, and then you always had to wait forever once you got there. I was none to thrilled to have to do either of these things for a burger. But alas, after a not-so-strenuous climb, and a 45 minute wait (at 2:30pm) which we went went exploring during thanks to the restaurant's text alert when the table was ready, we were sat outside in front of a beautiful view (if you're into rocks but can't be bothered with the Grand Canyon). The heaters were nice as it was cool in the shade where we were sat. My whole family ordered burgers and were very happy with them. Big, juicy, tasty, and good fries too. I also had the salted caramel milkshake, which was delicious. Despite it being very busy, our waitress was friendly and attentive and our food was served very quickly. Two weeks later and I'm still lusting after that Southwest burger. My only dislikes are that the walkway to the outdoor area we were at went right past the bathrooms, which smelled foul. Also, the girl with the bright red lips taking down names at the front counter was not friendly or attentive at all. We traveled to Jerome on our way home from Flagstaff. We looked around in a few shops and stopped at the Haunted Hamburger for lunch. We were seated directly next to the bus station on the patio and often heard loud bangs from the dishes as they were being cleaned up. I had a cheese burger. They had a small station inside for additional toppings. For my side I chose the twice baked potato, which was awesome! Our server was very personable. The staff and food fail to disappoint! Over the course of 2 days in Jerome, we attended dinner here twice, once as a first night, beautiful scenic bar sunset, and the second as a rescue dinner from the horrid service and inedible food at the Asylum up the mountain. We had a delicious burger of ridiculously amazing substance, cooked perfectly with a hint of pink just as we asked! Second dinner was a beautiful rack of ribs that soothed the soul. The Strawberry beer on draft was uh-maxing. The atmosphere can't get sweeter to experience a beautiful little town. Staff was attentive, quick, and the manager even personally came to our table to check on us after receiving our food the 2nd night, knowing we just had a horrible experience trying to have dinner for the two hours prior to arriving there. What a beautiful extra effort that wasn't necessary on his part but showed how much pride in their establishment and town almost everybody who resides and operates businesses here feels and demonstrates. Was passing through Prescott with the family and were told to stop here for lunch and we weren't disappointed. Yes, I think things could be improved on, we walked past their other restaurant Grapes and I was kinda bummed to see how much better their burgers looked. Also, could you explain to me the topping bar and why that is a good idea? Just seems like a waste of money and time. The server comes and sets your plate down and then says the topping bar is on the other side of the room. So why did you just spend the time to come serve me for me to then just get up and go get the toppings myself? It just all seems a little bizar. I don't get it. Sorry. The system just seems really backwards. Good atmosphere though, we liked the little details about the place being haunted and it was cool to sit under the tabel with all the found hammers. Can I give zero stars??? Worst service ever! Stopped in after a long day. Seated by the window with an awesome view. Sat there for over 15 minutes with absolutely NO SERVICE!!!
