Mainly because my stomach was already touching my back but I muscled through. We hopped in and out of the shops and 2 hours seemed to fly by Now it's time to EAT!!!! This place gets 5 stars because you can't beat the view. I got a chicken sandwich with lots of yummy toppings. I can't remember the name of it but that's how good it was, nameless :). After several people recommended a day trip to Jerome, we decided to come for the afternoon. This is where our friends told us to eat. It was about a 45 minute wait on a Thursday for lunch, so we browsed some of the shops around town while we waited. We got seated at the bar outside with a beautiful view. Our order: - Wagyu Burger (special) with a twice baked potato - Haunted Burger with onion rings It really bothers me when places don't know how to cook a burger. We got ours medium rare and they came well done. No pink whatsoever. That being said, I still enjoyed the Haunted Burger. The toppings were delicious. This place has a waiting time for Atleast 45mins to an hour despite of having ample seating in the restaurant. If you're lucky you will get a seat with a beautiful view. We could do a walk in with no wait time if we agreed to be seated at the bar and we opted for that as we were really hungry. Best way to escape the wait! There is no private parking around which is bummer. I ordered the southwest sourdough burger with garden party which is made up of mainly black bean and corn. It came as a sandwich with fries and was delicious! I believe their burgers and cocktails are really good and they accomodate vegan and vegetarian dietary restrictions pretty well hence it's popular amongst folks. There are about 3 elevation levels to Jerome and Haunted Hamburger happens to be on the highest so either walk up the stairs or drive up there because it is worth it. I had dinner at HH last night. You enter thru their gift shop that primarily sells HH T shirts and caps. Fortunately on that Thursday night there was no wait to be seated. The hostess will ask you if you want to sit inside or outside. I chose inside next to the large picture window with a view of the Valley. They also have an outdoor covered patio and another smaller outdoor area that is a long bar with stools that faces the Valley and offers an unobstructed Valley view. Believe me that is where you want to sit while eating your meal. Incredible view! I wish I had sat there. I ordered the cheese burger with fries for $12.99. I chose Swiss cheese and added grilled onions for another $1. To drink I picked the Ghirardelli chocolate and caramel milkshake for $7.95. The shake came out first and was absolutely delicious. The whipped cream, chocolate and caramel sauces and ice cream hit the spot. If you have a hankering for some ice cream get this. I loved it! (5). About 10 minutes later the meal arrived. It was a very good tasting burger with a nice sized patty cooked to order (I went with medium) and not too juicy so the brioche bun held together to the end. The fries were hot and slightly crispy. I enjoyed both the burger and fries. It was a good tasting and filling meal. Table service was prompt and friendly too. Also, this restaurant has a full bar. Recommended to stop in Jerome for lunch from a family we met while hiking at the Dead Horse Ranch State Park and the Tuzigoot National Monument. The drive up the zigzagging hill to Jerome was a bit nerve racking but glad we stopped. Found the Haunted Hamburger and so glad that we did. It was worth the wait. We enjoyed a beautiful panoramic view as we waited for and enjoyed our meal. We ordered the deviled eggs which was average but the Ghirardelli Salted Caramel Milkshake was incredible!! We had a fun dinner here before our haunted ghost tour. My wife enjoyed a cranberry Moscow mule which was really nice, served in a copper cup of course. For dessert we enjoyed the peanut butter pie, which was huge! Three or four could definitely share this dessert. The graham cracker crust was awesome, and the peanut butter filling was chilled and just peanutty enough for our palate. I went full dessert mode and ordered a signature vanilla shake. Topped with whipped cream and a cherry, if you venture here don't miss out and grab one of these creamy treats. Really nice cap to a wonderful meal. I have never had a complaint with this restaurant and I take people here that are visiting often but upon my recent visit it was just awful. Food was overcooked could not eat it and neither could my guests, they did not take it off our bills but did offer us a free dessert. They re-cooked a burger for me and it was still very overcooked. I had heard many times that I needed to try this place. If you come on a weekend you are bound to have a long wait. Came here during the week and was able to seat right away. The outside seating is heated which is nice and the view is beautiful. Servers were nice and attentive. I decided to try their cheeseburger and my nephew had the southwest burger. The food was okay. I was not impressed with the cheeseburger at all. The patty was a bit too thick and didn't have much flavor, it was pretty plain. The fries were good tho. We went there at 11Am on a Saturday and it was a great experience! We were greeted by every employee as we walked in. We chose to sit in the back patio which is enclosed with heaters above the tables for the winter. The view is amazing! The fried pickles were excellent- not at all greasy with a nice crunch. The twice baked potato is very creamy. Chipotle Deviled Eggs are good too because it was topped with bacon. We were seated inside with a nice overview of the city. It was not busy during the weekday. The parking behind the restaurant is limited so you would have to find street parking and walk up the stairs to the restaurant. During my fam road trip late last month, we took turns picking spots to stop in each city we passed thru (using Yelp, of course!), and Haunted Hamburger kept popping up as highly recommended. I now know why! If you haven't been to Jerome, let me preface by saying it's beautiful. The town sits up in the mountain side and provides absolutely stunning views. Haunted Hamburger is *the* spot in town to take these views in while enjoying some good eats. It's situated at what seems like the highest point in town with a balcony that is much enjoyed. Even on a Tuesday afternoon this restaurant was quite busy! We put our name and explored the town while we waited 30 minutes for our table. The hostess sat us outside on the heated balcony, which we were delighted with. It didn't take long for a friendly server to bring us a few refreshing brews. We also started with some fried pickles for the table (which were consequently the only thing I snapped pics of). They were crispy and delicious. As was the aioli dipping sauce that came with. My mom and I split the Haunted Chicken sandwich for lunch. The tendered grilled meat was topped with bacon, mushrooms, guac, grilled onions, and melty cheese. Thumbs up all around! Oh and we were plenty full from only eating half each. My husband and dad also thoroughly enjoyed their burgers, which are the specialties at this place. Lot's of options here.
