She said we would get towed if we were parked in the wrong spot. We pointed out to her the spot we were parked in. Haunted Hamburger!!! Go there now! I can't think of one thing I didn't love about this spot. The service - super friendly. The food - EPIC. The view - breathtaking. The drinks - local beer! Haunted Burger - WOW quite possibly the best burger I've ever had!! Guac, bacon, mushrooms, multiple cheeses, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato. Cooked perfectly per our request. Boom! Southwest Chicken Sandwich - Crispy yet tender and the sourdough bread was buttery goodness. Would have this any and every day it was delicious!! Local beer! A balanced, tasty brown ale and some IPA, really great. Service - Really nice waitresses, they were busy but gave us great attention. The manager came by and was super cool too. I saw him greet a lot of tables, really friendly and professional! If you're in Jerome and you're not there being a tourist, you might want to take a look inward and question some of the choices in your life. If you are there being a tourist then this burger joint is the spot for you! They've got a small lobby but they have a waitlist and the nearby shops will definitely help you kill time. This is a very fast operation and you won't be waiting long for your food and it's absolutely delicious. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Plus they have some great views and the restaurant even has a story about the building being haunted. What a great place for lunch (or dinner)! The waiting area is a giftshop with merchandise for the restaurant. They send a link to your phone letting you know what order you're in for your table which I think is a wonderful idea and it was much sooner than they said it would be. We had a gorgeous view of Verde Canyon and our waitress was attentive and funny. Cool "haunted" decor accentuates throughout and the patio has original metal artwork for sale. We were ushered to the 2nd floor and got a nice view at an approaching storm. The server was very nice, friendly, and attentive. She answered questions and took our order pretty quickly. We did not have to wait too long for the food and soon enough we were enjoying a burger and fries, and a chicken salad. I am a fan of steak fries, they seem to be the best. The food was good and we did not save room for dessert. The dessert case had plenty of items that looked scrumptious but I will have to try them another time. Definitely a tourist trap, but it has the delicious food to back it up. On a pleasant, it's great to sit outside with a decent view. We came here because of a recommendation but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The staff here was so rude. The hostess was rude and not welcoming she seated everyone else in the lobby before us even though we were already sitting for 20 min and on top of that the hostess called me by the wrong name on purpose. The staff of the haunted hamburger is friendly, however as a vegetarian or pescatarian you might want to go to a different location. The burger or "Gardenburger" is a black bean burger and "tastes" and smells like armpit! When grilled it taste like a charcoal pasty burn turd. It is not good whatsoever. For a hamburger location with such a rich history, I would highly recommend that they go to a beyond burger, impossible burger or even cauliflower burger to replace their back black beans frozen patties that into turned out like a charcoaled piece of turd. There are plenty of options for food in Jerome, but given that we were there to witness the "spooks" of the town, we had to stop at HH. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive and the ambiance inside is unbeatable! Bookcases built into the ceiling, ghosties of all kinds everywhere you look, but it also wasn't overwhelming. Just enough to look at while enjoying a great lunch. I got a burger with mushrooms, pepper jack, and bacon and others at the table sampled their August special burger and one with a gluten free bun (which its GREAT that they have this option). We were all so pleased with our burgers! Mine was very juicy and had a really nice classic meaty flavor. The mushrooms and bacon were a great addition to the standard lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. As my side, I had the jalapeño coleslaw - super duper tasty, but definitely has that jalapeño kick! I also got to try some fries and holy cannoli they were good. For three people (and no alcohol), the bill was around $60. We also really enjoyed that they sell a lot of different t-shirts and glassware for reasonable prices in the restaurant as well (the shirts are pretty funny). Being such a small place, it was a little bit of a tight squeeze at times and it felt crowded. There was definitely enough employees to handle everyone so, I didn't feel missed or neglected at any point. Being a burger joint, we all one and each one of us tried something different. A few warnings: our server asked whether or not the burgers were to be still a little pink in the middle, everyone who was getting the beef said yes. They were all over cooked hockey pucks. One person got the Garden Burger mentioned on the menu which ended up being a charred black bean burger. Yes, both are vegetarian, just two completely different types of burgers As far as food, the fries were good and they kept our drinks filled, which was awesome. "Molly, you in danger girl." (Ghost) Sandwiched betwixt Phoenix and Sedona is the ghostly mining town of Jerome, looming high above the Verde Valley. The town will give you the heebie jeebies on a rainy day or at night. But on a sunny day it is an ideal pit stop for lunch and a quick walk to settle your stomach afterwards. ***THE JOINT*** "I don't remember seeing any legs, but it definitely had arms, because it reached out for me." (Ghostbusters) Skeletons scaling the exterior walls of the restaurant caught our attention and tickled our funny bones, so we popped in to see what otherworldly food managed to raise the dead. We passed up the patio due to the heat and instead sat in the dining room with a killer view of the valley below. The décor was also to die for, with a bookcase that had levitated to the ceiling, and eerie photos reflecting Jerome's haunted past (and maybe an apparition or two). A sign above the dining room entrance instructed us to visit the water closet, but luckily it was free of any skeletons. ***THE BURGERS*** "You all taste so much better when you're afraid." (Pennywise) We found the menu choices for burgers to be limited, but they did include options of gluten free buns and turkey/garden burger substitutions. My friend and I both ordered cheeseburgers, and were a bit taken aback when asked if we wanted our burgers prepared "pink or with no pink", especially as "hamburger" is part of the restaurant name. Our server then directed us to the condiment bar, where a case of captivating cakes sidelined and mesmerized us.
