Found this place when I looked up a fellow yelper that complimented on one of my pictures and was in the area to check this place out after seeing a few great reviews. A family run small business that sets up outside of auto detailing on the right side heading west bound on Kam highway, right after the fast food restaurants (popeyes, taco bell, etc) but right before genki sushi/zippy's. You can miss it because it's not a store and they are selling it in the lot with a big banner out in front to the left of auto detailing. I have often driven past this place but never really noticed it because of it's location and they sell out and close up fast, and they don't sell at any farmer's market either. Today they had Taro and fruity pebbles flavor so I ordered a box of 15 for $20 of half flavor of each. The mochisada is addicting, fried and sugared like a malasada, but the consistency of fried mochi, a unique blend to snack on. A fluffy, yet chewy sugary snack, I could eat the whole box, and I bet icecream would go great with it, but with all that sugar, it would put me in a coma. They have a loyalty card buy 7 boxes and get one free. I was lucky they were open and still had some left to be able to buy/try some because I found that Hauoli is on instagram and mostly takes pre orders, and only sells certain flavors on certain dates and time. They can be contacted through Instagram or by phone if you'd like them to serve it at a party. Open parking since they are on a lot by themselves.

Super fun to make, easy to share, and no leftovers!

I did a custom order of original poi mochisadas to make a birthday cake with chantilly frosting and it was a huge hit! Everyone enjoyed the challenge of making balls into a cake. Even better was the fact that there were no leftovers, cuz usually when I buy a cake, I end up taking home leftover sheet cake and nobody eats it. This is the original mochisada, not to be confused with the one they sell at Zippys. NOT.THE.SAME.THING. Follow their IG to get locations, there is no storefront so you have to hunt them down or place a custom order for your workplace or next event!

Got my goods from the Hearts n Craft gift fair 2day at Ka Makana Alii mall. They had the original Taro mochisala buggah was ono, it's a cross between a mochi and a malasada. I should have asked not to coat it with sugar but I was too excited I finally was getting my hands on these carb goodies, havnt had them in a few yrs at another event in town. Follow him on FB or IG for event info. Thanks for coming closer to the West Side so I could finally get my fix. N yes I drove out from waianae to the mall just for these babies lol.

Mochisadas! OG Taro! The best treat yourself food!

This is the most delicious Mochisadas ever! It's crispy on the outside like a Malasada but the dough on the inside is like eating a mochi. Don't go for the copycats at other places like Foodland and Zippys. This is original homemade Mochisadas and a local family run business. Sometimes they are at Farmer's Markets and are able cater to special events like a Wedding or Graduation party. They have flavors from the OG taro, oreo, fruit pebbles and other seasonal flavors. With chantilly cream or chocolate sauce to dip it in. Sometimes there's Boba Cookies and Chantilly Brownies too. He also sells Boba Cookies at Sweet Treats by Kris in Pearlridge Shopping Center. I've only had the OG Taro, it was so delicious! You can really taste the taro and the crispness in the Mochisadas. It's my favorite place to get and eat Mochisadas! They cost 15 pieces for 20 dollars or you can buy them individually. They also can do fundraising with sales from their products. They're a great family business! Support local! It's also a good way to carb up before a race, hiking, swimming, biking or triathlon training. They occasionally announce deals on their social media page. I highly recommend trying this place out! It's delicious and so tempting to keep eating the whole box of 15 Mochisadas! Thank you for all the hard work you all do in making the delicious pastries!

Imagine a delicious, fluffy malasada had a baby with a chewy, sweet piece of mochi. Thats what you get with Hauoli Pastry's mochisada. I found John on Instagram almost 3 years ago on one of my suggested pages. I decided to check him out when he was at a local craft fair in Kaimuki. Once I had his taro mochisada - I was in heaven! On certain occasions, he also makes other flavors such as haupia, Oreo, and fruity pebbles. The chantilly and chocolate sauce are a MUST! I loved these mochisadas so much I convinced John to cater these on site as my dessert at my wedding 2 years ago! These were such a hit with all of my family and friends, and we are so blessed to have shared these with all of our out of town guests. Walk, don't run, to find out where hauoli pastry will be next to snag yourself some delicious mochisadas! Ps: don't forget to try his other baked goods such as the chantilly Mac nut brownies, dark truffle tartlets, and the Thai tea boba cookies!

First time trying this out. It's a cross between a mochi and malasada. Tried their original and Oreo. Can't go wrong. Great snack if you're in the pearl city area on the weekend.

Took this photo before eating, After I ate it I realize what all these black parts were, it was burnt!!!

I would have liked to give this place 5 stars or at least 2 or 3 stars, but when I bought some Mochisada at Kapunahala Elementary's Keiki Swap Meet & Food Truck Event today the outside of the Mochisada was burnt and it seems as if the owner tries to hide the burnt areas with sugar. So, when you bite into the Mochisada all you get is a burnt taste in your mouth covered with sugar. I thought maybe I could pull off the outside and just eat the inside, wrong, the inside was dry and not moist like I thought it would be. I eventually ended up throwing away everything I bought because it tasted nasty. If you all ever want to eat a good Mochisada you better off going to Zippy's. See my photo of all the burnt parts on the Mochisadas. So disappointing and such a waste of money.

Awesome take on taro mochi & Malasada, Mochisada. Never knew about this place till rolled up on this place by chance. Located at the same spot as detail garage near the old Genki sushi in Pearl city. Flavors today were OG taro & churro. Dipping sauce of chantilly was a GREAT bonus. Brought it home to the Ohana & they were pleasantly surprised. My wife is now considering to go to them for my sons upcoming bday party. Not sure where they are usually located, but owner said every Saturday they are at this location.

Order ahead, they do run out.

First time trying the original mochisadas, will not be the last time. Amazingly flavorful, soft, sugary, just ono!!! You won't regret having one, or 5! So good!! This is a family owned business. Love supporting that as well.

We tasted these at a family dinner. Mochi-sadas are ping pong size flavor bombs. We are going to ferret them out for more.

One of them is Honu Bakery (HB) where I've had a disappointing experience that kept me away. While breaking free from work to redeem my freebie from TMobile, I drove to KSC and saw HB as I was parking my car. Morale in the office has been low lately and decided to get some goodies from HB to brighten up the mood. There was a large selection of baked goods upon arrival and made a beeline to their famous turtle bread and noticed there are now 2 types: their signature buttercream of 22 years and ube, just launched on 5/9/2026. The vibrant purple color really caught my eye where I picked up 1 regular buttercream and 2 ube, where I also wanted to surprise my family as I was having dinner with them later that day. I paid for my purchase and although it was costly, I was banking to cheer up my colleagues and surprise my family. I sent a message via Teams advising my colleagues to enjoy the baked goods and received favorable responses. Many were happy for the pick me up and a handful of them commented on how delicious the ube turtle bread was. In the end, I noticed the ube version disappeared faster than the regular buttercream version. Later that evening, after our family dinner I brought out an array of desserts that also included the ube turtle bread. Favorite niece be default commented on the catchy purple color and many enjoyed the soft sweet bread snack. Service could have been better as staff seemed robotic and lacked customer service. HB lacked positive energy and disappointing during the checkout experience. Overall, a much better experience at HB where they are deserving of an update with a higher rating from me. The experience would have been better with more friendly staff to engage with customers over robotic staff lacking personality and interpersonal skills.

I told her this is my father's phone number and i'm helping him. My father couldn't remember if he used his home or cell number so an error popped out. She made a huge scene yelling at me rather than just leaving us alone or helping, Leaving us alone would be better than yelling at us and making a scene. Then she starts harassing my mom who already has her receipt to make sure her phone number matches the receipt and starts accusing her of who knows what. Then she starts printing a paper trail of me to show proof i'm trying to get more than one free item. All this while making a scene in the store. I left without getting my father's gatorade because it's simply not worth the hassle for a free item.I absolutely hate coming to this Safeway. It's so much drama, Zero Aloha and get accused of who knows what. did she think i'm stealing? fraud using strangers numbers when we're using our own? Who knows but i absolutely hate coming here. She purchased cute decor for the grazing table. The other selections we chose were Spaghetti and meatballs (both adult and kid friendly), Jasmine rice, lemon chicken, truffled deviled eggs (so good), Tator tots, chicken tenders, portobello mushrooms, and a salad. Caramelized onion and apple tarts, and strawberry cupcakes! The set up was perfect! Unfortunately some of the chaffing dishes were on the small side and we ran out of food. Kelly was very gracious and gave my husband and I a complimentary picnic on Vday! That was very nice of her. Everyone enjoyed the food. I recommend her services!

We chose her because her website was transparent, and also she was the only caterer that responded in a timely fashion. Literally 30 seconds after I hit "send" on my inquiry I received a phone call from Chef Kelly. She was very collaborative and down to earth. She made suggestions for the menu and quantity of food. She sent over a quote super quickly as soon as we settled on the details. She was very easy to reach via text. No waiting for days for a cater to respond and provide a quote! On the day of the dinner party, she arrived on time and started cooking. We had 8 adults and a 5yo. My son really liked Kelly. She let him help make a small cheese pizza for himself and didn't mind that he was in the kitchen asking her questions from time to time. The adults had lemongrass shrimp skewers, green tea salmon, roasted chicken, plus vegetables and rice. Dessert was a fruit plate (at our request to accommodate some of the guest's dietary restrictions). I thought the fruit plate would be boring but we were wrong. It was actually quite beautiful and delicious. She managed to find the sweetest mangoes that everyone clamored for. I forgot to take photos of all the food. The second event was a kids birthday party. We had the food delivered for this one. The food arrived on time and all we had to do was reheat some of it in the oven. We had an extra large charcuterie box, a box of tea sandwiches, and garlic noodles. We chose the menu to cater to a kindergartner's taste, but the adult guests seemed to love the food as well. I got multiple compliments about the charcuterie box. The Nutella and strawberry tea sandwiches went quickest. My favorite was the truffled egg sandwich. We also had ham and chicken. The noodles were also delicious and very filling. Overall, we would hire her again!
