I had the egg croissant sandwich. The bacon was awesome! They do not hold back. My girlfriend and her sister got the donut and loved it. They said they were to die for. Service was quick and if you are looking for parking you can park at the target lot. It's $4 per 30 mins.
Donut holes were perfect and the croissant bites were a close second. Great way to carb load for a day of hiking and beach time.
Get the custard filled Long John. It's a treat. Perfect size and filling. The custard is also rich and creamy. To be frank, Donut King does classic donuts well. Plus all their donuts look delicious! They also have a few modern takes like Oreo and Biscoff donuts. There's good service with outdoor seating. Inside there's really only room to grab and go. Overall a great quick stop for some fantastic donuts.
Got the apple fritter, but there were lots of options I wanted to try. The apple fritter was $5 before tax, which is a lot for a donut in my opinion, although they are pretty big. The donut was crispy and delicious, even after I got it later in the day. The woman in the shop was super sweet and attentive. Hope to come again soon to try another flavor!
Delicious donuts. Light and fluffy. Too many heavy/oily donut places on the Island, so this is definitely a find. The Ube glazed was probably one of the best donuts that I've ever had.
I came here with my family and ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant, a regular croissant, a glazed donut, a cake donut with sprinkles, and a croissant donut. This place might be called Donut King, but the bacon egg and cheese croissant was legit - it was huge and quite tasty. They warmed it up for us, which made a big difference. It was on the pricey side, but definitely filling enough for one person's breakfast. The glazed donut was solid - nice, light, and fluffy texture with just the right amount of glaze. The cake donut was just ok. The croissant donut had an enjoyable flaky texture, but was a bit too sweet for my liking. The space is small, it's just enough space to walk in and order from the counter. There's a 3% added surcharge to use a credit card instead of cash. Parking was pretty easy, as it shares the big parking lot with other stores.
Simply Amazing. Donut Kind Hawaii at Kailua is serving up some of the freshest, airest donuts on island (for a reasonable price too)! They are most known for their bacon donuts which was sold out by the time I got there. So of course, I had to try their classics. I got a glazed, chocolate, and cinnamon sugar donut. All three were spot on amazing. No complaints. The cinnamon sugar was my favorite. It had just a good amount of sugar to the point where I wasn't jumping off walls. Service was excellent as well. The aunty working was so sweet and grateful we came in. 10/10, I would come back.
Donut King - Kailua Let me tell you about a little slice of heaven tucked into the heart of Kailua--Donut King. Or as my kids now call it, "The Royal House of Bites So Good They Might Be Illegal." We rolled in expecting a simple sugar fix... we rolled out half an hour later, in a powdered-sugar daze, clutching an empty box and questioning all of life's choices that didn't involve croissant bites. First up: the croissant bites. Flaky. Buttery. Glazed like a donut's rich cousin who just got back from pastry school in Paris. They've got that perfect "crispy on the outside, soft and layered on the inside" texture that makes your eyes close involuntarily with each bite. I caught my 7-year-old whispering "I love you" to one of them. Then there are the donut holes--sweet little nuggets of joy. I thought they were just for the kids... until I tasted one. Let's just say we now operate on a strict "one for you, two for me" policy. Check the photo--yes, they really look that good. No filters. Just love, glaze, and probably a little magic. Bottom line: Donut King isn't just serving pastries--they're out here ruining every other donut spot for you forever. 12/10 would sprint back. Go early, or risk missing out on the glory. Little donut shop with a variety of delicious sweet treats. There was a little bit of a line but it moved fairly quickly. I wanted to try their croissant bites which was mini croissants with a glaze on top. It was not bad, pretty good. I could honestly eat like A LOT in one sitting knowing me. But i bought a dozen and knew it had to at least last me the whole day so I couldn't just eat it all at once. The only con is that the donut shapes aren't consistent. Some are a lot bigger and some are very small. So if I ordered half a dozen or a dozen, I would want to get my money worth and not take a chance on getting a tiny donut.
There are no words. We were coming home from breakfast and had to pull over for a post-breakfast treat. ;-) Donut King never disappoints. So fresh, soft and delicious. Mind you....technically we were not even hungry! The maple bacon donut is simply....heavenly. And loaded with so much bacon the bits kept falling off with each bite I took. Now that's my kind of "problem". Perfect location. Loads of easy parking. Super pleasant setting. We ate at an outdoor table mainly because we could not wait to take them home to eat them. My only gripe is that they ran out of cute stickers. ;-)
My family loves Donut King. It's nestled right inside Kailua town. They have a wide selection of donuts and croissants from filled to unfilled. They're generously sized and delicious. Did I mention these donuts are also warmed? Salivating. You can head next door to Morning Brew for a hot cup of coffee too.
Lady at the register was very friendly. She gave my 4 kids a donut hole each along with our orders. Inside is tight and can only really hold around 4 people. Enough for space to view the donut case Donuts are tasty and soft. read more

Their hours make it convenient to grab a fresh baked donut morning & afternoon! The fun Shaka flashing Donut King signs put you in a great local vibe the moment you walk thru their door! I love donuts and Donut King has some of the best I've had! Especially their cake donuts. Many places cake donuts are on the drier side but Donut Kings cake donuts are moist and delicious! The lady at the counter was so friendly and helpful. We chose several donuts cake and yeast and they were all delicious. I can't wait to try more of their donuts and will definitely be back. read more

This is the best donut shop for maple bars, hands down. I get the maple bar every time and it's just heavenly. I just can't get myself to get anything else. I wish they made more throughout the day...maybe they do and it just sells out too quickly. Anyway, it's the best and if you don't want to come in, don't. More for me! read more
Came right before closing so they were out of croissant bites but still managed to get the fave maple bacon donut, cronut and their Oreo special. The place is standing room only but nicely air conditioned and clean. The lady helping us was super friendly and even threw in her fave donut on the house. read more

donut King??? My friend and I decided to order a variety of on our first-ever visit to Donut King. Cue to the hierarchy of donuts we ordered: The Serf: Red velvet cake donut. The least favorite of the number in our box. The Earl: Maple bacon donut. I think I had high expectations as my imagination made comparisons to the same type of donut I ordered at chain in Portland, OR. What can I say, my dreams were shattered. I shouldn't have expected the same caliber and quality. The Marquess: The apple fritter. Though this is one of their most popular sellers, this was just "ok" for me. The Duke: Custard filled donut. I had just one bite, and my friend finished the rest. According to his "review", this was the best of the bunch. The King: The strawberry donut with sprinkles. The frosting was yummy. My favorite in the entire box. SERVICE: The staff was friendly and helpful. They answered our questions, and were very efficient. NOTE: 1. Ample parking available in the shopping center lot; though I can see the lot filling fast during peak hours. 2. There's no place to sit and eat your donuts. It's basically grab and go. BOTTOM LINE: Not sure if I would return honestly. Everyone and every business deserves a 2nd chance, but I think I'll abdicate my position on seconds. read more

After a morning hike what better way to reward yourself than some FRESH donuts! This place gets busy FAST! So if you don't see a line run over because it's not long before the people come and the line will get long. There were so many great options to pick from! The box pitched costs about $17 so it seems a bit pricey BUT the quality of the donuts makes these precious babies priceless! I will definitely be coming back ! read more

Been wanting to try this donut shop since the original one in town opened, finally got a chance to try it at this kailua location. I was passing by and was surprised there wasn't a line like I've seen in the past at both locations so I had to stop and check it out. The employees are nice but they made me feel rushed cuz they kept asking what u want after I told them I'm not ready to order still looking when they asked the 1st time. I was the only customer in there and being my 1st visit I wanted to check thru everything. Well I finally just picked a few just to move things along since they asked 3x already and I kept saying I'm still deciding. Overall I was in and out in few mins glad there wasn't a line behind me. There was hardly anything to chose from but because it was all scattered in the display tray it looked like alot to chose from lol. As far as taste I ordered my fave Old Fashion Donut and honestly I didnt care for it. The blueberry and red velvet was okay. I've had donuts from a few other bakeries and donut shops that impressed me more. But it was still worth the stop and if I have another donut craving and I'm ever passing by again hopefully earlier when they have more selection I'd def stop. read more
A new donut shop in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii... I saw Nat N. check in at Donut King in Kailua. This is the second location of a popular donut shop. The original Donut King is at Market City in the Kapahulu area. Today (May 7, 2020) was their Soft Opening. I arrived just before closing, so it wasn't that crowded. I got a free parking space right in front of the shop. Kailua's Donut King is located about two doors down from Times Supermarket. It's a cozy space - good enough for takeout only. I got a glazed donut because I know (from prior experience at the Honolulu location) that the donuts are light and fluffy. They're so soft that they almost melt in the mouth! Service was excellent. I paid cash and was a penny short. The cashier waved me off and I promised to return. When I looked in my package, she had given me two complimentary donut holes along with my glazed donut - awww... that's so sweet! I found a penny in my car. I went back to the shop and gave it to the cashier. She smiled and laughed! Next time I'm in Kailua, I want to go back and get a chocolate donut! Mmm! Maybe I'll get a Long John, too! read more

Did y'all know there was a donut king in Kailua? Cause I didn't lol. I just so happened to be in the Starbucks across the street when I noticed Donut King's sign. I love the location in market city so I just had to try this location. There was a line, but not surprising since I know their donuts are good. This location is a bit smaller than the town location but other than having tv menus, it's pretty much the same. I ordered my fave: the maple bacon donut, and also got some croissant bites. Got stationed out at Kailua for the night and we went for our morning coffee at 7-11. Then my partner says "let's stop by donut king". I must've gave him a funny look because he then proceeded to say "you know there's a location in Kailua right?" It all made so much sense after that. Anyway, the croissant donut holes at the Kailua location are so much better than the one in town at market city. They're so flakey and moist with just the right amount of sugary glaze. I also got the ham and cheese croissant which excellent at both locations. If you need to pick up something before going to the office or just want a sweet treat, there is a donut king in Kailua too! read more
