Phenomenal hospitality for a restaurant in an airport. The beer is flowing and the bratwurst is quality. I would 100% recommend this restaurant if you have a long layover and need to hangout.
For an airport restaurant, they had all the necessities of western food with a hint of German links. After such amazing food in Italy, this place was a welcome change of pace to the parmesan and prosciutto. It actually felt like an American diner. The service was great but then again, I think they were just attentive because there restaurant was closing and they wanted to get us everything we needed as they closed. For being in an airport, it wasn't too loud. I would visit here again
I was pleasantly surprised by some airport food. We had a 3.5 layover here and since there were no PP lounges nearby we could go to, we decided to do a leisurely sit down lunch. This one and an Italian place were really the only two options in Gate A, but since we were traveling to Italy, it didn't make much sense to eat Italian food a German airport. So we opted for Hausmann's. Hubby had the half a chicken meal, which comes with fries, side salad, and a choice of dipping mayo. Despite the chicken looking super dry, it actually was not (except for the white meat). I had the curry wurst, which I really enjoyed. This comes with fries and some sort of chipotle mayo. I could have done without the globs of tomato sauce and maybe sub that for either curry sauce and more curry powder, or some more mayo. I don't normally like steak fries but these were top notch. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Food came out pretty quickly, so if you only have 45 min or so, you could still probably make it. I think you can either order and pay by yourself via the QR code or with the waitress. But we had trouble with the code and ended up just ordering in person, as it seemed most other people did as well. Not a bad option for the airport.
After waiting a few minutes we were sat our table and received wonderful service. Everyone was prompt and attentive. Beer was cold. Food was hot. Hubby had the chicken and it was really moist and flavorful. I had the beef sausage and liked the flavor. Just wished there was a bit more gravy. Good airport spot for dinner.
Great place during a layover at Frankfurt International! It's king of tucked away, which means it isn't too terribly loud. There are several tables worth of extra seating, and charging ports, all of which make it very nice. I didn't eat anything here, so can't comment on that. But, the Hefeweizen was incredible! The service was great and the bartender was friendly. It was a nice stopover!
Tastes cheap, but is expensive. They have you by the balls tho, since you're stuck in the airport. I ate it, but I didn't enjoy it. Lol.
Pretty decent food but the staff were not very friendly, didn't check on during the meal at all or being things in a timely manner.
Jasmin is awesome! He recommended the bambule Pilsner and the original helles beer! Both were so good. Also the Hausmann's teller brat is big enough to split between two people. The kraut and the mashed potatoes with it were really good. Highly recommend
I will give this place 2 stars because they have beer. Other than that, I ordered the Schnitzel, thinking it was gonna be real authentic, like the menu post. WRONG!! This piece of crap was thin and dry. Worst Schnitzel I ever had. Only got it because I was passing through Frankfurt, and I had no time to leave the airport. Anyway, stay away because it is more expensive than most other places in the airport. Also, the service was fair...only took our order after we waited 20 minutes.
Came here during a layover. Went with one of their beers on tap (wonderful) and the schnitzel with salad and fries. The fries were on the salty side and the salad was overdressed, but the schitzel was great! Service was alright, and there were plenty of places to sit. I thought the stools were on the low side though.

Very long story short, there was a train accident on my way to the Frankfurt Airport which made for a very strange day. But when things go awry, I tend to follow the song lyrics above. That meant passing time during the almost 4-hour delay by meeting some really interesting people on the train (chatting about bio-ethics with a guy from Poland) and making the most of a bad situation. This too shall pass. For quite awhile, I was sure we would miss our flight, but we ended up arriving with enough time for a meal. And it was surprisingly nice for an airport nosh. It turns out this gastropub is co-owned by a celebrity chef in Germany, Tim Maltster, along with Patrick Rüther and Tim Plasse. The team did a great job with the concept, menu and service was really sweet. The overall experience was the equivalent of a warm hug at the end of a long day. Many German meat and potato dishes are on the menu alongside lighter salads. Our group ate at a long elevated wood table in the bar area. There is more traditional seating on the other side of the restaurant. It would definitely be at the top of my list for airport dining, but I think I need a little break from Frankfurt for awhile. [1] One of my favorite songs, and essentially my travel anthem. Lyrics by Johnny Mercer, my favorite versions are performed by Bing Crosby and Jack Sheldon (Homefront TV series).
5-stars for excellent brats and fresh Warsteiner!!! We purposely did a layover in FRA after traveling elsewhere in Europe, just fir the opportunity to get good brats and good German bier. While Warsteiner is not a "local" or regional bier, it beats anything back home! Several half-liters and some excellent Nurnberger brats, and I am one happy junge!!! Sehr gut!!! Prosit! RS

Order by QR code (or wait for someone to come over and take your order). Cramped seating. Solo diners will be seated at any available free seat (with other solo diners, perhaps); all diners were cramped into a space 1 fourth the size of the available seating. Opted to get a mocktail, and their fish and chips. Mocktail was fine, could have gotten something else to eat. The chips were fine. The fish batter was slightly over cooked, with a hint of bitterness. There's a pizza place next door, maybe I'll try that next time. read more

Tastes cheap, but is expensive. They have you by the balls tho, since you're stuck in the airport. I ate it, but I didn't enjoy it. Lol. read more

Came here during a layover. Went with one of their beers on tap (wonderful) and the schnitzel with salad and fries. Great Service Perfect place to relax and eat/drink during layovers. The Frankfurt Sausages remind me of the harabiki sausage snap and the Granny's Potato Soup is a great hearty soup to fill you up and not feel too full. read more
A very good German restaurant in the Frankfurt, Germany airport. I had the Double Pig. A fresh bun, filled with Pork Belly, Pork Neck, which would be compared to a pork chop, topped with bacon sauerkraut, and a very tasty onion apple marmalade. Overall, the sandwich was really good, both porks were tender and very flavorful. The marmalade was sweet, a nice contrast to the sauerkraut, excellent sandwich with your typical fries, and washed down with a Coke. read more
We will NOT dine here again ! Even with airport, there should be a standard of practice for service, quality of food, and [somewhat] decent management. Unfortunately, we did NOT receive any [at least] one these during our visit. The staff were running like...in a total chaos. We got three staff to come by taking our oder. Well, guess what...? The order didn't get put in the system. We waited and WASTED 45 minutes !!! It was not funny, but we felt like it was a joke - as this is Frankfurt International Airport. The staff were overwhelmed & preferred to speak English. My spouse is German and was asked to speak English as trying to put in our food order. As I said it was "sort of funny" but more sad that they messed up as "forgot" to place our order. Next, one of the patron next to us complained to the waiter because he waited for 20 plus minutes for his food. Guess what??? He got a response like, "if you in a hurry, you can leave"! We were quite shocked ! The patron ended up left without his food, assumingely he was really pissed or he's gonna miss his flight. Again, I know that I am only traveling through FRA only a few times a year, but my spouse is going through here often. I want to make sure this information is communicated to our fellow yelpers and to other travelers. It's a terrible thing to experience, as if anyone really enjoys the airport food(?). I hope the management would pay more attention to this & make some necessary adjustments. With nowadays options for food, the attitude and services will prevail. We did not even get an "apology" at the end as we paid. Unfortunately, this place has offered NONE! read more

Multiple charging points in this restaurant! Hot chocolate 1/3 - tastes more like a hot cup of milk, and you just melt a chocolate cube into it. Too milky. I'm not familiar with German food, but this is a great place to try! Both dishes were a fresh invention, unlike any of the western or European dishes I've tried before Pulled fillet of smoked salmon 3/3 (15.50€) - Large portion size, with generous helpings of smoked salmon. The gremolata (herbs) mashed potato tastes very different, in a good way! My friend didn't even realise it was mash Spaetzlepfane 3/3 (11.90€) - South German pasta dish. The ball-like pasta is soft, a cross between mash potato and sphagetti. The fried onions add a great contrasting crunch and charred taste, bringing everything together wonderfully. Average airport facility: Pricy and medium to low quality food. Additionally, the food's taste was rather below average. Before you finish your meal you will be asked for any further orders. Once you're done you'll get the check and will be kicked out after paying. read more

So I get that this is an airport restaurant.. however I was pretty disappointed that I can easily get better German food in the Washington DC suburbs where I live. The wurst itself was pretty good, but the sauerkraut and German potato salad completely lacked flavor. What's even crazier is they added a gravy to the entire plate, and even the gravy was lacking flavor. Making bland gravy is somewhat of a sad accomplishment. On the bright side the food, the mediocrity of this establishment probably made the amazing food on the rest of my trip taste even better! Last, I didn't base my review of 3 stars at all on this, but holy crap was this expensive! (Once again though, I get it.. it's in an airport) read more

Really, not bad for an airport restaurant. If you can grab a booth, your exhausted child pass out on the comfy cushions. Half rotisserie chicken fed two easily. Chopped salad was good with chicken and even better with tender veal shank. Smoothie was quite tart (good for adults, less so for kids). Decent selection of beer and wine, as well as coffees. Service was a bit slow, mostly due to only two servers serving a fairly large dining room. Overall, pretty good stop for food if you are not under pressure to get to your hate. read more

We had a very early connecting flight from Chicago on to Italy and arrived before anything was open. Luckily this place opened around 6 AM and we were able to get a quick breakfast. They made a decent flat white and we both had this muffuletta thing with egg, pickles and little slices or Nurnberger sausages with rocket on top. Pretty good actually. Good service also. read more

Quick service. Nice table seating with window views. Right across from duty free. Standard airport pricing. Friendly staff. Played nice music. Charging stations available. Free wifi in airport. read more
