On 7/16/2026 Havana Rumba welcomed 27 excited Residents from Swan Pointe HOA and showed them where to be seated. Our servers were Anna and Maria. We ate in the large dining room, where they usually seat large parties. It does get loud in the room. The servers were worked very hard collecting orders and quickly returned with the appetizers and drinks for the group. I think a lot of our friends must have already decided what they were having for dinner, I know that I had. As soon as Anna and Maria had everyone's order, it was a short wait of about 15 -20 minutes and through the door came the most colorful and aromatic food. Anna and Maria were really good at knowing which plate went to each guest. They helped the bussers pass out the rest of the dinners. We suddenly all got quiet while we ate. The food was so good. My husband decided since it was Burger Week, he would order the Frita Cubana, or to translate, Cuban Spiced Burger and Sweet Potato Fries. He liked it even though it was a little spicey. I chose an Apetizer, an Empanada, Flaky pastries stuffed with your choice of: chicken, ground beef, or cheese & spinach; served with roasted pepper sour cream. I chose the Chicken and Cheese & Spinach, but I think the next time I will get 2 Cheese Empanadas. We had a fantastic meal. We want to thank Byron, their GM and their Owner, Marcos. They have a great staff. As we were leaving, the prettiest woman came up to me, out in front of the Havana Rumba and she told me that she remembered me from when I was teaching, many years ago. My main meal was the masas de Puerco (fried pork chunks) with tostones and yucca. All delicious! My wife ordered the pollp empanazado which is a flattened, fried chicken breast. She enjoyed it. Dad ordered the service with banana chips. He seemed to enjoy it. He also enjoyed the lobster bisque. My mom ordered the shrimp dish but said the oil upset her stomach. My son ordered the vaca frita(fried beef). He liked it; one of his favorites. It was my son's birthday so they played the saxophone for him and gave him a free dessert. We had finished up for the week, and I had promised the Capt. and the staff that we would have dinner and discuss our approach for the other locations. We all decided on Havana Rumba, which I had visited before because folks have issues with spicey foods. I advised them that it was Cuban, not Mexican. They enjoyed the setup and the live music for the evening. Our food was freshly prepared and not spicy, and the restrooms were clean. Fantastic lunch today and it provided exactly what I was craving. Guacamole and plantains - yes, all day! They were kind enough to bring out nacho chips for my husband because of his allergies. I ordered the Steak Chimichurri which was outstanding with the green sauce, although I didn't care for the red. Swapped my white rice with the dirty rice that came with my wife's Mango Glazed Salmon, which she said was good. The dirty rice blows the white rice out of the water. Stellar experience. We were originally planning to get a takeout snack, but tonight was a beautiful evening so we opted for the well-appointed patio. So glad we did. Servers were on point. Vibes were good. Night was great. We ordered their Cuban sampler appetizer plate and a side of maduros. Literally every bite was excellent. I could get rhapsodic over it, but just trust. They're pros. The only critique I had is minor: their drinks menu. You'll find something you liked, so don't worry. But to me it felt dated while they could easily and correctly argue that they are catering to a wide range of tastes. Fair! Personally, I would simplify it and also bring greater emphasis to classic daiquiris (invented in Cuba more than 100 years ago). Granted, the 1980s were unkind to that drink with all the neon and sugar, so some folks may have misapprehensions, but that gives the restaurant the chance show people what it can be. My wife and I decided to go out with some friends of ours for dinner and we could not decide where we wanted to go. The other couple recommended Havana Rumba and we had never eaten there before so we thought, why not. When we arrived, we walked in the front door and if you didn't know you were in Louisville, KY, you'd swear you had walked into a place in Miami. The wonderful music and decor immediately put you in the perfect frame of mind. The hostess was super friendly and they promptly seated us out on the patio. The weather was perfect and so was the seating. Some outdoor places cram as many chairs and tables in as they can and you feel really cramped. We didn't feel that was at all. My wife and I love to watch Food Network and we have seen lots of Cuban cuisine on different shows but we had never tried it before. One of my absolute favorite steak dishes is arrachera and when I saw it on the menu, I had to have it. I was not disappointed. One of the best I've had outside of central Mexico. The vibe was great and they had live music. Not too loud that you couldn't talk to your guests but most certainly lively and fun. My only complaint is a first world complaint and that is that there are too many amazing looking dishes on the menu. We will definitely be making this one of our frequent stops. read more

I have to say, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a piece of grilled fish MORE.
