I met a business colleague here for lunch last week. I had the Cuban sandwich, and it was extraordinary! The Peruvian sauce that I ordered on the side had this profoundly beautiful intense flavor on the front end and heat on the back. I highly recommend it for the sandwich. First time in, glad we came! This restaurant is next to Amazing Thai in Middletown, in that plaza where Popeyes and Rainbow Blossom are. It's a casual atmosphere and the staff are friendly and happy to help. You might not know if you'll like Peruvian food, but a lot of things on the menu are very approachable! And they have a QR link to photos of all their dishes so you can order with confidence. There's plenty of chicken-and-potatoes kind of things to try. We ordered the arroz con pollo, the lomo saltado, and the bistec a lo pobre. All were very good! The arroz was very flavorful, they say it's infused with cilantro and chicken broth, which gives it a nice, hearty flavor. I definitely recommend it. The lomo was well marinated and tasty, my daughter loved it. And the bistec was huge! We all ate well and brought home leftovers. Go try this unique place! read more

First time enjoying the delights of Peruvian Cuisine! We ordered Papa à la Huancaina (boiled potatoes covered cheese sauce), Yuca Fries (fried cassava root), Bistec a lo Pobre (Ribeye steak served w/french fries, fried egg, & plantains), Seco de Carne (beef tenderloin stew), Aji de Gallina (shredded chicken mixed with a cheese sauce, served over potatoes). Service was excellent, the waiter was happy to explain all the menu items, & food served hot. The restaurant is cozy, decorations from Peru, full service bar, usual non-alcoholic beverages, & a couple Peruvian drinks. The service was top notch. We were greeted with open arms and a warm welcome. The food was excellent (Peruvian here). I took my mom here for an early dinner and she couldn't have been happier. The various menus were helpful (picture, Spanish, English). I would highly recommend everyone try this! The Lomo Saltado is always highly recommended. read more

While I will try to return... again.... we didn't get the opportunity to actually eat. We were instead bombarded by the owner chef waiter and possibly another cook... it was so overwhelming. We love passion but we also like freedom to decide before feeling forced to do what we are told to... I'm paying so I get to decide what when etc. We weren't really "allowed" to look at the menu or a moment alone to see for ourselves. We were interrogated about if we've have Peruvian food before - yes. Then where when what we ate and how their food is far superior in every way. Again. Hoping for the chance to get to try the food. This time I left with a menu. So before we go back we will have to know exactly what we want, and maybe call it in as a to go order. Really want to try the food! I just don't like being stood over and feeling pressured. Super nice- really nice! Just step back a bit and allow people to fuck around and find out for themselves. Originally I was going to have lunch at Amazing Thai today but decided to hit this new Peruvian restaurant next door. I'm very glad I did. The food was delicious and the customer service was excellent. I would highly recommend. All food is made from scratch and locally sourced. read more

We tried the seco de carne and seafood ceviche, both were delicious! I wish they put more of the delicious green sauce on the seco de carne. Maybe I can ask for more next time. The seafood ceviche was refreshing and flavorful. The Chica morada was perfectly sweet, fruity with a hint of cinnamon, it went well with our meals. I really wanted to try the yuca fries but they didn't have any that day. We'd like to come back and try other items on the menu. Highly recommend Peru for a wonderful dining experience! My husband and I both chose the Lomo Saltado because of other reviews that raved about it -- he had shrimp, me the chicken. Didn't disappoint AT ALL! Delicious! We are anxious to try the ceviche on our next visit. It's a small cozy space that's easy to have a conversation. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The owner/chef came to the table to chat with us. He was a delight! His passion and excitement to prepare a good meal and experience for his guests is obvious. We will be back!! read more

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that I forgot to leave a review for this wonderful place. This is a family run business and the food is absolutely amazing. The service is great and the fact that it is family owned makes it even better. I've got to go back because I had the Yuuka fries and I had some soup and let me tell you both were amazing the sauce that came with the Wyuca fries was so delicious. I could take a bath in it and just drink it it's that good and it went with my soup so well cause I like to experiment like that The service was definitely a winner and I can't stop talking about it because it was so good y'all should go and give it a try because this family does service right read more

Fairly new still, three months in, the food was authentic, the service friendly and the chef was very appreciative of my visit. I am really fond of good Peruvian Food and there are not many choices here, I knew that a Shelbyville spot (Pisco Sour) was no longer there, what I learned was this is the same family that moved the business to Middletown (closer to their home)! I decided on the Tallarin Saltado with Chicken, Noodles, a variety of bell peppers, onion and seasoning then added a generous order of Arroz Chaufa con Pollo. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and portioned generously. The dining area was small but clean with a neat bar at the back surrounded by a small lounge area with music playing at a sensible volume. This restaurant is owned by some of the most genuine and friendly people in the city. I've been eating here for years and they have always been extremely hospitable. On top of that, the food is absolutely unreal. They serve flavors you literally won't find anywhere else around here because they import ingredients and focus on quality. We had a steak and vegetables dish and a rice with chicken dish. Both were fantastic and very reasonable prices. Decided to check out the new Peruvian restaurant in Middletown. We tried the Lomo con steak entree. Nothing outstanding, the rice lacked flavor, the main item the steak was a small portion considering the $20 cost. The onions & tomatoes mixed with steak had subtle flavor. The service was lacking, server was cordial but seemed to have too many tables to check in after we got our food. The ambiance, a very small dining area. Nice & clean. Other highlights, at several Peruvian restaurants I have eaten, the side sauces are no charge. Here they are 75 cents & I see no reason for charging, it's such a small portion. Finally first restaurant in Louisville that I have seen a "leverage charge" added to the bill. Seems like a 4% charge because we used a debit card . Not impressed was hoping for a better experience. read more
