If you're looking for Caribbean food absolutely packed with flavor, Mo's Restaurant is a MUST try. If you haven't had Caribbean food - now's the time to try it!! We're from out of town and came specifically for the French onion soup, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. Rich, comforting, and perfectly done. We also ordered the creole shrimp with rice and vegetables, which was incredible. The rice reminded me of jollof rice and beans - so flavorful and cooked perfectly. My brother had the spicy creole shrimp pasta and said it was one of the best dishes he's ever eaten. The owner/chef was incredibly welcoming and attentive, and even treated us to pie on the house which was outstanding. Portions are generous (great leftovers the next day!). This is truly a hidden gem and highly recommended to anyone visiting or craving bold, authentic Caribbean flavors.

Really good restaurant, small space but it feels very homey! The food portions are big so you definitely have leftovers for the next day and the food tasted AMAZINGGGG oddly enough it tasted like my mom's food lol. The service was wonderful the owner I'm assuming is very sweet and funny anddddd gave us free dessert at the end of our meal which I didn't get a picture of because we ate it

I was really interested in trying Haitian food so we made Mo's our first stop when we landed in Key West. When we arrived around 7pm, it wasn't busy at all - it was just us and the chef. I ordered the oxtails with dirty rice and the chef got to work. The stove was next to the bar and restaurant was filled with absolutely mouthwatering aromas while he cooked our meals. The oxtails were amazing - slightly falling off the bone tender but with a bit of gelatinous chew covered with a slightly buttery and spicy roux - very reminiscent of New Orleans style cooking. The dirty rice was very tasty too and the portions were very generous. This is defiantly a bit different than the tourist restaurants on Duval - but is probably a lot better if you like that sort of thing! Highly recommended!

New Year soup!

This is a family own restaurant they're very generous and lovely! They served us a soup to celebrate new year. I love goat and this place makes it amazing. It was a huge portion and definitely enough for two people. They also give us pie which I didn't get a chance to take a picture of but the key like was very tasty! The customer service surpassed my expectations I definitely recommend this place!

This is a little gem in Key West. The people were friendly and they so would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of kid menu or choices for kids to eat. My cousin had order the food photo below. I ordered the chicken and potatoes and it was the most fall off the bone chicken so good full of flavor.

Decided to get off the main path and visit Mo's for some good grub! Had ordered the crab cakes and shrimp creole with rice and vegetables. Crab cakes didn't really hit the mark for me. Not sure I really tasted crab and it's a bit flat sitting on a bed of lettuce. The shrimp creole was absolutely fantastic though! Full of flavor with some heat and would recommend this to everyone if you're willing to venture off from the main strip.

Fried plantain and garlic bread

Holy cow. Honestly, some of the best food we've ever had. We've eaten all over the world and this place is in our top three hands down. The food has so much flavor and soul. You can taste the effort that goes into it. I'd take this place over an overpriced fancy restaurant every day of the week. We recommend getting the fried plantains, oxtail and fried pork plates. Pro tip get the garlic bread to soak up all the delicious sauces

Super excited to eat Haitian food now when I am in Key West. I wasn't a big fan of their Rice though. The plantain, pikliz, and.pork was delicious!! They have a small eating area inside if you want to stay and eat in it. It was just us at the restaurant and they had Haitian music playing. They had wonderful customer service. Our food was cooked fairly quickly and staff was very nice. I noticed most people actually got their orders to go. Next time that's what we might end up doing. It's so close to the beach. It would be cool to go eat it on the beach. They do not have a parking lot but we were able to find one our parking in front of the restaurant. We went during a weekday during lunchtime, so there wasn't very many other cars. It may be hard to find parking if it is a busy weekend.

Key lime pie (with free piece of pumpkin pie they gave us)

This place is GREAT. My favorite meal of my trip to Key West. We had the Creole shrimp with rice and mixed vegetables, and the snapper with rice and vegetables. They were both fantastic. Good sized portions of food. Friendly service, not a fancy place (which to me is a plus) but clean and welcoming. The key lime pie was really good too. Definitely worth getting off of Duval Street to check this place out!

I have wanted to visit Mo's for the longest. They serve Haitian and Creole cuisine. I have never tried Haitian food, so I was very curious. Since they recently partnered up with Door Dash, I decided to order some delivery. Everything on the menu seems amazing. I ended choosing the Chicken Casserole and the French onion soup. Both items were delicious! The casserole was creamy and hearty. The soup was comforting. I would definitely order it again. Overall, 4 stars.

Oxtail Entree

This is the BEST Caribbean food I've had in the keys and in general. The love put into the food is shown. Our server was amazing and down to earth! We had enough for left overs & the leftovers were eaten before the end of our ride home. The ambiance of the restaurant is laid back and comfortable. This place is underrated and not talked enough about.

While I was checking it out, the bouncer at the bar next door told me it was worth a visit, which sealed the deal. Later that evening, I convinced my friends to go with me. They were expecting a full sit-down dinner, but this is more of a counter-service spot with 6-7 bar stools inside. The setup is simple: place your order at the counter, then either grab a stool or head to the bar next door, where they'll bring your food when it's ready. We chose the bar's patio, which gave us a clear view of the restaurant. It was reassuring to see other groups having their meals delivered over too--it felt like we had discovered the right local gem. The wait was about 25-30 minutes, but that only confirmed everything was being made fresh. And let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it. Our group ordered two jerk chicken plates with plantains, mac n' cheese, and slaw; one oxtail with black beans, rice, and mac n' cheese; and one jerk burger with fries. Every single dish was a hit. The jerk chicken had that perfect smoky spice and heat from the scotch bonnet peppers, balanced with bold Caribbean flavors. The oxtail was tender and flavorful, and even the sides like mac n' cheese and plantains stood out. All in all, this was easily one of the best Caribbean meals I've had anywhere. A true must try when in Key West.

We had a reservation and were seated promptly at a table up front. Our server was over in flash and soon we were sharing the tuna watermelon ceviche, the lobster mac and cheese and the quesadilla. All were delicious! For our entrees, we had the chicken and waffles, scallops with more of that lobster mac and cheese (I said it was good!) the fresh catch of the day and a ceasar salad. The fresh catch came with an ear of corn that I made short work of! For dessert we devoured the banana bread french toast that was perfection! The restaurant is tucked away on a back street, far from the usual tourist spots, which adds to its charm. The food is authentic Cuban cuisine -- and I say that after decades of living in and around Hudson County, NJ, where the Cuban community is large and vibrant. At El Siboney, everything tastes fresh and homemade, with generous portions and prices that are refreshingly reasonable for Key West. This visit, I ordered the whole fried yellow snapper, served with yuca, yellow rice, and beans. My dinner companion had the Siboney skirt steak, one of the restaurant's popular dishes, served with a choice of sides. Both meals were excellent. Dessert was equally impressive: a delicious slice of tres leches cake and silky vanilla custard that were the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Dinner for two, including dessert and tip, came to about $100 -- a great value for the quality and quantity of food. El Siboney remains one of my favorite places to eat in Key West.
