It's not fancy, but it's good! This slightly weathered, little burger shop churns out a clean tasting patty reminiscent of a 50's burger joint. Bacon Zac's Double Burger with Cheese- 2 thin patties cooked on a flat-top with a straight-up, off-your-home-grill flavor, melty Orange American, bacon slices, + optional toppings- ketchup, mustard, pickle, onions. Smallish burger that's hard to beat for $5.74. Spicy Fries- a paper boat of goodness, skinny-crisp, Chickie & Pete's- style but w/ a more satisfying spice blend, white cheddar dipping sauce. Excellent burgers that are consistently good. The staff are very friendly and the service is quick.

The food is great this place it gives a 1950 and 1960 vibe. The milkshakes are made to order ( with numerous flavor options ) and super thick. I order French fries and they only had one size and it was a big bag of fries. This is definitely a good choice if you want a hamburger and fries for lunch or dinner. Updating my 9 year old review after my recent visit. Ordered on the phone from a pleasant employee and was told to come in 10 minutes. I arrived in 9 minutes and 30 seconds as they were finishing my order. 2 cheeseburgers and a small fry. I was pleased to see the French fries come right out of the fryer and was not disappointed when I reached into the bag and pulled a few out. They were fantastic! I waited to get home for the burgers and felt the same way. Piping hot, juicy, with plenty of cheese. I have decided these are top tier burgers, and so are the fries! Still not a big fan of a variety of shakes all made with vanilla, but I'm there for the burgers and fries. I may try the wings next, they were looking pretty good. Since I was there last they got a paint job and cleaned the air duct featured in a couple pics. The place looked pretty good on my quick visit. read more

The customer service was great young kids in here but respectful & polite. We came in 30 minutes before they were about to close & no attitudes for the orders. The food came quick. The food was good. I loved the wing sauce we got. I believe it was a spicy honey garlic. We got them well done. I also had a double bacon cheeseburger, cheese fries, & 2 regular cheeseburgers. We ordered for take out. The food was hot & fresh when we got home. I enjoyed everything except the fries they are shoe string fries & just blah. I am very picky w my fries. I think my family of 3 ate for $36 dollars which works for me. Inside this location it is very greasy of course. There are 5 tables I believe that seat 2 but still comfortable to stand & wait for your food. There is a decent sized parking lot which you can come in & out of easily at many points of the parking lot. I will definitely be returning to this location! read more

Gotta say, for $25 this is hard to beat. Could easily have spent that on Wendy's and regretted it afterwards. I see the negative reviews - I acknowledge them. However, when I visited tonight I experienced a clean restaurant and a very kind and hospitable staff. My family had a great time. Fries were perfect. Burgers were juicy and seem to actually be beef (unlike a lot of burger joints that sell primarily soy burgers. I see you shake shack). $25 I fed a family of 4 and it was good. Zacs came through. Food was cold and did not match description. I didn't realize it was about an hour from closing and they didn't accept my order until right near the end of their day so I guess I was punished for that with my cold spicy fries that came without the cheese it's supposed to have. Probably best if you go in person so they have a conscience about the food they are serving since they could put a face to it. read more

toasted bun was perfect. fries were Mcdonalds like but even better bc they were less salty although crispier chocolate shake was really good. i shouldve gotten the shake of the month but i didnt see it until after i ordered. very cool that they do shake of the month (shake of the month was chocolate strawberry) I was passing through but will most definitely be stopping by again btw the service was spectacular. very friendly environment and i highly recommend p.s. a recommendation for you. get thicker straws for the milkshakes - it changes the game, especially if you've got a good milkshake as you do read more

Fries were delicious, burger was just the right size and tasty UNTIL....yes until with every bite there was those rubber fat balls! We had the food truck come to our HOA today. I have a two year old with a set dinner time. We wanted to give the food truck a go to support local but wow, awful. We booked a time slot and my husband had to wait 45 minutes for our food. No apology, just excuses. My child was starving. In fact, pretty rude to be honest. The food. My boyfriend and I were in Aston visiting Neumann and wanted "greasy burgers" (I am sure you all can agree that is normal craving to have!) We stopped here because it seemed to be below gourmet but above fast food so we figured why not? Well let me tell you we got our greasy burgers! They were small but tasteful. Zac' s Hamburgers in Aston, PA may look like it has been around since the 1950's and the inside only reinforces it, but this outpost of the 5 unit Delaware County brand has only been open since 1998. The good news is that Zac's cooks your food to order and allows you to customize it however you want it with a wide variety of toppings. I usually come here for burgers and fries, but they have wings, chicken sandwiches, and milkshakes too. My burger and fries came out piping hot just the way I ordered it. The bad news is that it was not a great burger - a small 2.5oz patty cooked on a flat top with minimal seasoning. The toppings were ok and the bun was slightly grilled, but the whole package does not come across as anything but ordinary. The fries are heavily salted shoestring style with generic cheese sauce. The service is average and there does not seem to be a lot of training. The decor is also average, but not quite kitschy enough to qualify as a dive. Zacs boast a location at the main intersection in Aston just down the street from Neumanns campus. It is certainly a better experience than you will have at the Burger King or Wendy's that are nearby, but it is not worth going out of your way to visit. read more

I'm always pretty pleased with the food we get from Zac's. I typically go with a burger with ketchup/mustard/pickles and fries. Also a shake since I'm not here that often. If you eat in, they'll give you whatever didn't fit in your shake cup on the side. Love that! Everything has been delicious, even their fries (which I'm a big stickler about). I don't eat fast food, but this as close as I'll get and I don't feel like it's calories wasted. So good! read more

So when my dad brought my order home for me, I was shocked and disgusted when I saw the bag and milkshake cup. It looks like someone got blood all over the bag and cup. So apparently this was my husband's go-to burger place when he was in college and we just so happened to drive by it on our way back from some pumpkin pickin'. I got a cheeseburger and split some fries with the hubby... everything was pretty good. But man, his cheese hot dog was some sad sight... slice of cheese on a dog? Really? I've been to many Zac's locations (four or five in the area, methinks) countless times and it's always good. I had a hankerin' for a cheese burger today and the Aston location is right on my way back from the Chiropractor so it was an obvious choice for lunch. The staff is friendly and efficient and I noticed a definite "regular lunch crowd" feel. The place can seat up to 34 people- and this place is SMALL! I don't think I'd like it if it were stuffed to the gills. I've been in Zac's before when they were really busy you could wait up to ten minutes for your meal but that was not the case today- if you're dining during a peak time (lunch or dinner rush) call ahead and it's ready! When I was in college there was a deal for a bag of 10 burgers for $10. I'm not sure this magical and brilliant deal still exists but I can respect a joint who dreams up deals like this. I had a good laugh when I read the Burger of the Month sign for January- this month it's an "Island" burger. Before I read the sign- I thought- "hmm, I bet they'll put pineapple or bananas on that sucker!" But no...just thousand island dressing. Clever indeed. read more

I haven't been to this Zac's in a few years. It was getting late and we needed a quick rake it home meal. Everything we ordered was disappointing. The basic cheeseburger was okay. However, we asked for tomato and lettuce. They charge for the lettuce. I should have taken a picture when I got home but I didn't. They were Roma style tomatoes (not my personal favorite on a burger) but we got one piece the size of a half dollar. It was laughable. I thought it was just mine but they did it on all six. I would prefer they charge me and put a decent amount. The lettuce did not look the freshest but it may have suffered on the ride home on the warm burger. Even so, I expect more than one leaf if you are going to charge for lettuce. The milk shakes (one cherry and one vanilla) were flavorless. If you closed your eyes, you would not be able to tell what kind it was. Karen the Flam got it right about the onion rings-one step up from those fast food kind. I often come to Zac's for their shakes and French Fries. They're delicious! But, it's been a while since my last visit. Reason: cleanliness. The floor of this place is absolutely disgusting. It looks as if the floor hasn't been mopped in months. Not only that, but I don't like how the bathroom is in such close proximity to the dining area. While waiting for my order, I was sitting at a table, and the bathroom door was open. I could see the toilet and it was just so unappetizing for me. I took my order to go. I hadn't been to this Zac's in some time and I used to really like it. Going past on the way to an event we stopped for a burger. The burger was still good but the fries were disappointing. Very oily. BUT, and it's a very big BUT..... The place was filthy. The sheer amount of grim on the floors, doors, windows, behind the cold case was just gross. I made the mistake of using the bathroom. Just don't. The floor was sticky, the trash can was overflowing with towels and the fixtures were all dirty. No one could have cleaned that bathroom in some time. Same with the restaurant itself. I didn't see how dirty the place was until after I ordered my food. I should have eaten in my car. :P read more

Atmosphere - Outside is a mix of neon signs and white stucco, looks like a traditional burger joint from the '50's. Inside, looks the same, except for a small TV and digital menu. Walls are drab and dirty, wall decor is faded and bland. Really needs some 'Curb Appeal' inside to dress it up a bit. Waitstaff - Only counter service, no servers inside. Took orders quickly and precisely, only have about a four to eight minute wait for my meal. Food - Ordered a Reese's milkshake, some Vanilla ice cream, two squirts of chocolate sauce, and two squirts of peanut butter sauce. Not really that drastic, could throw in a couple peanut butter pieces to make it a little more realistic. Ordered a burger, lettuce and tomato are extra (gip), and doesn't come with any sides. Quality of the burger was good though, and the BBQ sauce really made the burger. Ordered a side of pizza fries, which again, one squirt of whiz, one scoop of marinara sauce, ta da. Not a lot of imagination, but they do provide what's advertised. Intangibles - Staff left a trash can out with no bag, got a bit of the smell before they quickly filled it. As I mentioned, I would not dine in here, more of a takeout location, though they mention they have five other locations in the region. Overall - Definitely a 'Dive-y' type place. They don't do anything too fancy, but what they do does taste good. Much better then any fast food places in the area, but not quite the 'foodie' experience some may look for. Yo, going here on a 78-degree May Day was perfect. Sitting outside near the busy corner, in the sun, with an iced cold Diet Pepsi, a double bacon, and chili cheese waffle fries. Perfect. Even the under-seasoned patties were delicious in that environment, and environment matters. Recommended because it feels so old school, and the burgers are really classic. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Aston. Lunch cost $10, by the way. read more
