Was craving some Indian food so decided to stop by and check this place out! I got the Chicken Tikka Masala which comes with a side of rice and I got a side of butter naan! It was pretty good, I loved the curry flavor, very fragrant and strong, and was a pretty large portion so worth the price! Lots of food carts in Portland. Walked up to a casual line of trucks and decided to try a couple. Bought vegetable Samosas from Dhaba. Service was friendly and the price was right. That sauce, which I think was mango, was excellent. It was a cold day, and these piping hot potato pouches were perfect. read more

The two gentlemen working there were friendly and the service was pretty quick. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, the chicken and rice was cooked perfectly, however the sauce was a bit watery and didn't have a lot of flavor. Looking at prior reviews, they could've just had a bad day with the sauce? I love the food court that they are located in. Ordered food here through door dash. Amazing spot! My food was piping hot when it arrived. I got the vegetable samosas, butter chicken and garlic naan bread. The vegetable samosas are REALLY good. I will go here again just to get that. The butter chicken was also tasty and comes with a nice serving of rice. I didn't really care for the garlic naan bread. I've had better. The portion sizes are pretty good. I ate the majority of my food and saved the rest for dinner later that night. Good portions and fair prices. read more

June 2022 - Takeout food stall type of environment. Food/Pricing - Decent pricing for the food. The Lamb Curry is pretty good. Masala Chai drink is inconsistent. Got this 3 different times this week. First day, the tea was very strong and flavor perfectly balanced. Second day, tasted watered down. Third day, we asked for ot to be stronger, they made it more sweeter but that's about it. Service - All three times, the staff didn't look like they wanted to be there and lowkey look like they could care less if you buy their food or not. No estimation on how pong you'll have to wait for your order but during my experience this week it was about 15-20 minutes each time. One time was only for the drinks. read more

My order is always the same. Taste and freshness is always consistent. The food cart looks very clean and the prices are fair. Orders usually come out within 10-15 minutes. Street parking during lunch is difficult to find and I'd try to avoid lunch rush as all the students from PSU and businesses crowd the area for lunch. Ideal time to come is around 1pm. Nice surprise to find an Indian food cart in a lane dominated by middle-eastern food carts. We actually went there to eat a wrap, when we saw this place open, post midnight, it was mandatory to try them. Considering no Indian restaurant is open late in the night in Portland area. The best part about it, food was made a fresh. The owner asked us to wait in the car considering it was cold until he prepares the food. The food came boiling hot. I found the naan could have been cooked a little longer, but the curry was good and rice were excellent. We would definitely comeback for our late night cravings and would recommend the same. They have both vegetarian, vegan and non-vegetarian options. The food is on the mild side and could be made spicy if required. Curry comes with a rice. Reasonably priced I am glad to have found an Indian place that stays open late in the night. read more

I found this place 2 months ago, and have been back many times. It is the one on SW 4th DT. The flavors of the sauces are exceptional, so delicious and complex! I've tried all the chicken dishes. The chicken pieces are moist and tender. My favorite is Chicken Tikka Masala. There is enough sauce for leftovers. I choose 3 on the "1 to 5 spiciness scale", any less, you loose out on the flavors. I take-out and add steamed red peppers, broccoli, carrots, green beans at home. I get 3-4 meals with this fab delicious sauce. The rice is long grain, light, fluffy, great! (I spent 6 months in No. India. The flavors at this food truck are authentic and so complex.) Your order takes about 5 minutes. Highly recommend! Only downside here is you have to pay with cash if you don't want a charge for using a credit card. read more

I have had food from their truck multiple times , while I used to have classes at PSU ,but this was a few years back . Recently while looking for Indian food deliveries in my area ,I came across them on Uber eats and decided to give them a try again . The online ordering and delivery was flawless and my food arrived well before time .The curries come with a side of rice . we had Kadhai Paneer - Tasted OK, ample quantity and spicy . Malai Kofta - Really watery and just plain flavorless. Their koftas were also a little strange tasting. It just felt nothing like Malai Kofta. Garlic Naan and Butter Naan - Really doughy and raw from the corners. They were just too thick and hence I felt were not cooked all the way . we had to toss the corners and just eat the middle part of the naans . Prices are reasonable but if they compromise on the quality with that ,its just not worth the prices. Malai kofta was a joke, tasteless, soggy, and made up of aloo ki sabji wrapped up in bread. The rotis were cold, and garlic naan was basically chopped garlic sprinkled on the naan. Their taste used to be good during covid and pre covid times, either their "chef" changed or something is not right. Wont ever recommend this restaurant again read more

I had the lamb korma and chicken tikka masala and my GOODNESS! The order was a doordash pick up and I was a bit annoyed upon arrive because there was a verification process and I left my phone in the car... blah blah blah. However, once I got the food home...I was in love! I ate to capacity. The meat was tender and in large chunky pieces. I wish there was more, but it's the nature of the economic climate I'm assuming. Even after the meat was gone, the sauce! I poured that ish on everything until I cleaned the container. I've gone vegan since, but my goodness if I could get the sauce vegan I would buy it by the gallon. I could have it for every meal and still not get enough. Do not let the truck fool you. They have 2 locations now one on 23 rd place within the Knobhill Food Carts and the original one on SW 4th Ave. their Biryanis especially the non veg ones are great the veg biryani is scant with veggies. Dal Tadka is not available at 23rd place so they say they are sold out. Their pakoras fish and veggies are great, have to try other types. Definitely a place to tryout. read more

When trying to decide what we want for dinner. We always say, "the food carts?" And nine times out of 10 it's this food cart. Food is consistently good. I love the chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. The garlic naan is phenomenal. The lamb biryani and lamb vindaloo is good as well. I never regret getting food here. I either eat it all up for dinner or save some for lunch the next day. And it's the best leftovers. I literally want some butter chicken right now while I'm writing this review. So good :) oh also the tandoori chicken is good! I like to order that on the days I'm trying to cut calories and it's delicious! It comes with just onions, and some yummy sauce! Reasonably priced with a generous helping of the curry, rice, and naan, Dhaba Indian Kitchen was a solid move. The malai kofta was tasty, perhaps a bit too sweet for my taste, but none the less, it served its purpose. The naan was large and thicker than usual, but that also made it very filling. Looks exactly like the same cart that is now at the new food pod at SW 5th and Oak. That's where I ordered the Chicken Korma and when I took it out, it looked like tiki masala. I took it back and they said nope, it's Korma. I went and sat down and had a bite. Tasted like milk and rice with a hint of tiki masala. I took it back again and again they said it was Korma. I shook my head and sat down and just fished out the chicken because the rice was mush and the sauce was mostly cream. Done with the chicken, the guy from the cart came over and gave me a small plastic tub of sauce, explained quickly that this was Korma. I put the sauce in what was left of milk and mush rice and it was barely a difference and was definitely not Korma. I get Korma all the time from restaurants (Ghandi's, Siri, Swagat, New Taste of India, Great Taste of India) even Best Taste of India three carts away. I know what Korma tastes like and this ain't it! Never again. read more

The Malai Kofta and Veg Korma were in a WHITE sauce, which was some kind of mix of coconut and butter... think an indian alfredo sauce. Yes, gross. Excellent Indian food! I tried this cart for the first time yesterday and was definitely pleased. I got their killer lunch special which is only $7. It comes with two curries, rice, and a HUGE piece of naan. I got the meat version which had chicken korma and chana masala. The korma was creamy and mild; lots of flavor but very little heat. Korma is an excellent curry for those who don't tolerate spicy heat very well. The chana masala was tasty and the chickpeas had excellent texture; I'm guessing they cooked them in a pressure cooker, but regardless, the spice mixture and tomato sauce was very tasty. Rice was nice and fluffy, and the aforementioned naan was great. It was almost 1x2 feet... no kidding. I would love to try some of their spicier dishes like the lamb vindaloo or jalfrezie. read more

The meat was tough as hide, and the restaurant uses really cheap, tough, only sinewy cuts of meat. There were no soft, edible pieces of lamb. When I make Indian food at home, I simmer it for hours to make sure it's soft and I use soft quality cuts of meat and not the gross sinewy stuff that I got here. I also got the wrong dessert sent to me. This food was inedible because all I got was chunks of sinew and tough, in-chewable meat. It was so gross and a disappointment to pay so much money and yet have this poor quality food and the wrong dessert. read more

Best Indian food! Do not be fooled, this place might not look like much but the food is incredible. I always get the veggie samosa, Tikka Masala (No meat) and 2 garlic naan breads. This is enough to feed me and the boyfriend for dinner, with leftovers for my lunch. Can not say enough good things about the Tikka Masala, it's a must. We usually door dash but had a bad experience, so now we just pick it up. Never more than a 15 min wait to get food. read more
