Buyer beware! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL unless you want to be ripped off or have your personal data…read moreshared. Hotel's response will be - "it's not our problem". Save yourself "a problem" and book elsewhere. You will be glad you did. I booked a room via Hotels.com shortly after midnight and showed up at the hotel less than 45 mins later only to be refused entry by what can only be described as an 'unhinged Indian" screaming and yelling "No check-in after midnight". Not only was I not allowed to check-in, but to add injury to insult, the property then objected to a refund. Just to recap - They facilitated the sale of a room and acceptance of the proceeds of that sale via one of there agents (hotels.com) - then refused to provide that room saying "Read the small print" and no check-in after midnight and tried to lay the blame at the door of Hotels.com. They steadfastly denied any culpability saying only "it's not our problem". SORRY, But YES it is your problem. You are stealing from customers and then hiding behind the small print of a big faceless booking agent. If you do not allow check-ins after midnight, then you should not be selling or facilitating via 3rd party agents, the sale of rooms after midnight for that night. AND You should certainly not be then refusing and obstructing refunds for such sales. THIEVES AND SCAMMERS. Beware! Hotels.com went above and beyond to secure my refund for which I'm very appreciative - in spite of property obstructions.

OK not suprised by the horror stories in the other reviews, this place is awful! At check in, the…read moremanager repeatedly admonished me for "being late" (plane landed at 12:10 and I was there at 12:45) and I was forced to apologize. Then he threatened to tow my rental car because I didn't have the plate number memorized. When I went to get my bag, was told there were "NO In and Outs!" and I was escorted to my car by the manager who stood there intrusively as I gathered my things. In the room, first thing I saw was a puddle of standing water on the bathroom floor which I wiped up with a towel, only for it to return in a couple hours--more on this in a minute. The entire room REEKED of cigarette smoke and there were cigarette burns on the sink and elsewhere. Asked for a 10 am wake-up call and promptly received it at 9am. Due to the pipe leak in the bathroom, some of my clothes that I had set out for the next day got wet. Reported this to the front desk and they immediately offered to wash them for me. However had to wear yesterdays clothes again since they didn't dry them and received my clean clothes wadded up in a plastic bag, even wetter than before. Then tried to take a shower and the drain was completely clogged. Finally when I was leaving, the manager had the cops there, was unnecessarily angry and threatening yet again to tow cars from the lot, which at the time looked about 10% capacity. If you're looking for a nightmarish hellscape in Palatine, this is it!

Because of the pandemic we rescheduled our wedding twice. Each time we rescheduled our initial room block and deposit were honored. In the two years that we were planning our wedding the hotel was sold to Sonesta Select. They were very communicative about the change. Sonesta honored everything that we had in our original contract. In our contract we had reserved a conference room to hold our rehearsal in. We were given this room free of charge in the original contract and were only charged when we had made the decision to have food in the room. I felt that this was fair. This room was not being used that weekend, so this conference room became our "glam room" before the wedding, after-wedding socializing room, and location for breakfast for our guests staying at the hotel. This worked out great for everyone. After ten nights of guests reservations were made, my husband and I got a complimentary suite. Even though we live close by, we stayed at the hotel to be closer to our friends and family. Our suite had a very nice "living room" area in which to relax and entertain our guests. The bed was comfortable. We had a view of the hotel courtyard. The room was clean, if not a little dated. The front desk staff was great to work with and worked hard to accommodate every need we had. The breakfast was not at all impressive and not at all what I'm used to when getting breakfast at a hotel. The food was not refreshed quickly and often ran out of things. We ate the pastries and food we brought instead. The bathrooms in the lobby were fine but they ran out of soap and it was never refilled despite asking several times. A shuttle bus ran to and from our wedding venue. The bus got people there without a problem but I did miss our last dance song because I had to call the hotel because the bus to take people back to the hotel hadn't arrived yet. This bus did eventually arrive and everyone arrived back safely. This hotel is very nice and I will be forever grateful to them to contributing to a very memorable weekend.

I am absolutely disgusted with this hotel, we payed a pretty hefty price for this disgusting room,…read morewe were promised one of the best rooms and if this is the best room than this is horrible, there is bed bugs, brown stains on the bed, couch stains, the lamp was covered in brown stuff, one lamp was broken, the toilet seat was broken and someones leftover food was left in the fridge and it smelled awful. House keeping checked and told us the room was perfect, we call front desk and they were not cooperating at all. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone it was absolutely filthy and gross. Don't come here
