I had a great experience here for one of their spa packages. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and I was able to start a bit sooner than my appointment which was great. The locker room was very clean and the robe was amazing, the slippers very comfortable. I started with a massage - she started off by checking in on any specific spots and really kneaded out the painful areas. Very relaxing! My facial was next - I was most relaxed and fell asleep for a bit. She was honest about my skin and made some suggestions but no one pushed product on me - I find this common at other spas, the stress of products being pushed on you during a service isn't relaxing so it was great they didn't do that here. I had a manicure last - the only bummer is that area is SO bright compared to the lush, dark lounge and someone was on a conference call. Also, while waiting for my last service someone was eating take out in the lounge area that stunk it up.. not the businesses fault! I'm looking forward to booking a service in the future and I would skip any Mani/Pedi services. The technician was skilled and very polite but the vibe is just completely different. read more

They have so many services to choose from -- I was a bit overwhelmed but now i'm just scared for my wallet however skincare is worth it to me. I had the most amazing experience at this spa! Went in for a 45 minute Swedish massage. The front desk staff was very welcoming and efficient, I filled out the paperwork and was brought back right away. The spa decor is GORGEOUS. It's so pretty and makes you feel very fancy and classy! But the best part was my massage therapist, Victoria. She was so kind and warm. The second I laid down on the table she knew exactly where my alignment was off. During the massage, she seemed to know exactly where to press to find my tense spots. I originally went in for a relaxing experience (which it still absolutely was!) but I had No Idea how badly I needed Victoria! I was so tight with knots upon knots and I didn't even realize it until she started working on me. Thank you Victoria and the Haven spa staff for a great experience! I would give Haven Spa's new location 5-STARS!!!. It looks amazing. I love the new nail spa area. Spacious, well-lit and enough elbow room per chair so you can read your magazine without bumping into the next client. However, the new receptionists are not as friendly as the ones that they have at their previous location. Also my favorite manicurist, Gabby, left :-). She is the only reason why I go to their spa. But I figured since I've been going there for years, I could try a new person. This is my first time with Marlene and she is not friendly. I tried to have small talk with her but she seems un-interested. The nail polish on my toes looks bumpy and uneven. I went home and took them all off. But when her next customer came (I guess they know each other) she was quite friendly and chatty with her. So sad that I have to leave them and find a new nail salon. I thought ThinkPink on West Broadway was bad .. But they are actually better especially after my recent visit to Haven. read more

I cam here with my mom for a day of much needed relaxation. Was a little worried based on some previous reviews but the entire experience was amazing. We arrived a bit late (and the spa was very busy) but we were still shown right into the locker room. The locker room is nice and clean (nothing particularly special) but the waiting lounge was beautiful with big comfortable couches and a lovely starry sky as the ceiling. Our first service was 30 minute reflexology. Both my mom and I were very happy with the therapists who were clearly very well trained with reflexology. The only thing I would change was the the type of music playing during this service. It was some sort of techno - I did ask the therapist to turn it lower however and she did easily. Next was the renaissance pedicure and manicures. Both wonderful and the chairs were very comfortable and the manicurists very attentive. We then finished our day with amazing facials - the esthetician gave me an amazing face massage and didn't push any products on me - I think this was one of the best facials I have ever had. Overall the day was amazing! While it was an expensive excursion, compared to other spas in NYC this is perfectly priced. Would 100% come back. read more

Simply wasn't worth it. For almost $100 (with tip) for a Brazilian, I do not expect to leave with scabs from skin pulled off and hairs already growing back because they weren't removed but rather broken by the wax. I was a loyal European wax center patron before this and will continue to be. What you pay for here is not quality of service but ambience. If you like a beautiful venue, trendy location, and warm tables then come here. If you want a quality Brazilian wax, look elsewhere. read more

Where do I begin... I really wasn't sure what rating to give Haven. I think if I could give it 3.5 stars, that's what my final rating would be. I had such high hopes for this place - their website looked amazing, the reviews were overall pretty great, when I walked in, it looked beautiful, and the staff was super nice! Lots of initial positives! But unfortunately I left just sort of feeling "meh." I went for the Hammam body treatment. I've been sort of spoiled, I guess, in that I first had Hammam while on vacation in Scandinavia (which was amaaaaaazing). Two years ago, after that trip, when I got back to NYC, I was desperate to find somewhere in the city that offered Hammam. The only place I was able to find at the time, was The Spa at Trump Soho. So I booked a couple's treatment for me and my (ex) bf and I have to say, the treatment at Trump Soho was pretty great. Flash forward to yesterday. I had made an appointment at Haven because, let's be frank here, I refuse to support Trump ANYTHING - IDGAF if the spa is outsourced, it's still Trump's name and I do not want to give my business to anything associated with that man. With that said - Haven is basically the ONLY only other spa I found in all of NYC that offers the treatment. From the description on their website, I thought for sure it would be a decent investment into my skin and mental health (I've been SO stressed out lately). So I decided to chance and booked my first appointment. When I got to Haven, I filled out standard paperwork and pretty shortly after I was on my way back to the locker room. The girl told me how to use the lockers and that I needed to sit in the steam room for 15 minutes, and after 15 minutes, they would come and get me to take into the room where the treatment would be done. One thing I thought was a little strange, was when I asked if I could wear my bathing suit (like I've done at previous treatments) they told me the treatment was done completely naked. So I was just like "oh okay..." and ended up walking into the treatment room with nothing but a towel on. When I got into the room, the girl I had, Marta (really nice/sweet/friendly girl) advised me to lay on this table that basically looked like a regular massage table.... I was confused. I was expecting to lay on a hot stone like in all the other Hammam treatments I've done / read about. But instead, I was basically just in a room on a massage table, that was pre-set up for the Hammam. So, I laid on the table and let her go to town. She was actually the best part. I really liked her. We made some conversation, talked about how much we both love the effects of Hammam, she asked me if I was a model, which made my day (I'm not) and she was very professional and gentle. For the most part, the treatment itself was relaxing... except the constant turning over, the re-positioning me so she could rip out one of the sheets from underneath me to reveal a clean sheet for the next part of the treatment, and literally the world's most uncomfortable "pillow" on the table. (I have no idea how they expect clients to lay on that uncomfortable table for 75 minutes!) I started getting aches in my neck and upper back! Not to mention, being completely naked the entire time and having my lady bits completely exposed was pretty embarrassing (again, the girl was TOTALLY professional and kind, I'm just saying I would have preferred wearing bikini bottoms to be more covered). Midway during the treatment, she wrapped me in some sort of wrap while I was covered in the clay, then left the room for about 15 minutes while I just laid there. When she came back, she washed me off, put some more oil all over my body and then that's it, I was done. She helped me into my bathrobe and then directed to me to the relaxation "lounge" which is more like a small area with a couple couches and magazines. Not too impressive. Anyway - after the treatment was over, yes my skin did feel incredibly soft and healthy, so I know it did what it was supposed to do. (Yay) But the first thing that came to mind, is that they didn't use the bubbles part of the treatment that they do at Trump Soho, and how they did it in Sweden. I'm referring to when they take a giant sack of bubbley soap and pop it all over your body so you have giant bubbles of soap literally everywhere, while they massage your body and scalp while washing you all over. I was definitely expecting this (it's the best part!) so it made me sad they didn't have it. :-\ Would I go back? Maybe. Marta was lovely. Just wish for $200 it was like the other treatments I've had. I wanted a fully relaxed experience. Suggestion for the management - get a room w/ a hot stone for the Hammam! Doing the treatment on an uncomfortable table really takes away from the experience. :( Also, please get a more private relaxation area that isn't so close to the reception desk! It was awkward seeing people walk by every few minutes and was super distracting/non relaxing. read more

Took my friend here for a birthday gift. We got a couples massage and body/face treatment. It was ok. The place is very pretty, the robes and slippers make it very comfortable. The employees are nice. My masseuse didn't put enough pressure so I walked out feeling pretty much the same. That was pretty disappointing. The salt body scrub was terrific though. Scheduled a late Sunday afternoon appointment for a simple manicure Arrived 5 minutes early Filled out silly 2-page form asking questions that have nothing to do with a manicure, then was brought to waiting area 15 minutes later (tick, tick, tick...) I'm still waiting in the waiting area and see no sign of a manicurist ready to seat me I then ask up front what's going on and that the appointment was supposed to have me outta there by 6:00. Clueless Dude checks the schedule then goes to manicurist station to ask for an estimated time as I follow him back to waiting area Clueless Dude then keeps update info all to himself feeling no need to inform me of the wait status Clueless Dude then goes back to sit down behind front desk and twiddle his thumbs Clueless Dude then yaks on phone as I continue to wait for an answer in the waiting area. 10 more minutes pass (tick, tick, tick...) I ask woman up front what's going on because I never got an update from Clueless Dude. She finally admits to me that Manicurist Moron is running behind and that there's a 5-10 minute wait and sorry for the wait. (6:00...wha???) I ask her why didn't anyone inform me? (ie: doesn't Clueless Dude work here or is that just an illusion?) She apologizes again and I shake my head saying "Way to go...this place should be called "Haven" t got a clue. read more

For a spa it wasn't very zen. Employees and other customers were allowed to have loud conversations and you could hear it through the doors or even when you're trying to relax and get a nice mani pedi, which unfortunately wasn't great either. Instead of massaging my feet or hands she softly rubbed them only like she was applying lotion to my skin. My massage($80 for 30 minutes) was okay to begin with. She asked me my problem areas and I told her, but somehow I ended up leaving worse than I arrived. She never asked me if the temperature of the towel was okay so she gave me a light burn on my neck/shoulder area. I mean I had to ice my shoulder when I got home it was so swollen and sore. My spa experience was for my birthday and it was a gift but if I had taken the facial apart of the package ($80) the calming, effectiveness of the day would've been completely ruined. Thankfully, I upgraded ($200) and the lady did a fantastic job with extracting and tightening my pores. Overall it was kind of chaotic. They didn't do a great job of directing me when and where I was supposed to go. When I got there, it seemed like the employees didn't really communicate amongst each other about what the client was in for. For the price, I DEFINITELY could've went somewhere else and gotten a better relaxing experience. They also don't tell you that gratuity is not included until after you check out and you have to pay for EACH service. So for my birthday I ended up spending $175 on the upgraded facial plus gratuity on top of the $235 gift package. For less than $410 me AND my boyfriend got a couples 1 hr full body massage, mini facial, mani/pedi, strawberries, champagne and chocolate, and a total zen experience from a different spa around the same area last year. Underwhelming swedish massage. Asked for a couples massage, it was just a room with a faux wall removed. The beds were far away from each other. The massage was mediocre. Neither masseuse asked whether the pressure was okay and did not go beyond the simple gliding back and forth. Just a lot of bathing in oil. Be prepared to have a greasy hair/head afterwards. Booked services here for my friends bachelorette party. I am not going to go into every detail of the experience we had here, but I will say if you can go somewhere else, do so. If I can help someone else avoid the horrible experience we had, then that's all that matters! Only reason I'm leaving 2 stars is because the girl that did my blowout was phenomenal. Response to inexcusable and unprofessional comment below: Your staff were all extremely unwelcoming and rude. Not one person in the entirely of our party enjoyed their experience. And not one employee cared about your sick stylist, besides my friend who you left sitting in the room for over an hour with no advice or word. The fact that you are a business owner and instead of accommodating and apologizing - you are arguing with someone who had a bad experience speaks volumes of the type of establishment you run. This review is not necessarily about their spa services, but their customer service at the reception desk. I used to be a regular, monthly customer at their old location to get waxes. While in the process of moving to their new location at 250 Mercer, I started going to European Wax Center - which I continue to go to now out of convenience in location, cheaper hard wax, and no strict cancellation policy. I went back to Haven this evening for a wax because I received a Customer Appreciation deal for a $30 wax which is a deal you just can't pass up! My appointment was originally scheduled for 6:15pm. Something came up tonight at work, so I called Haven to try and reschedule my service for this Sunday instead. I wanted to avoid their cancellation policy which is if you cancel within 24 hours, you'll be charged 100% of the service. (Which is crazy to begin with.) The receptionist told me that even though I would reschedule my service, it would be considered a cancellation and I would be charged the fee. That being said, I decided I would keep the appointment for tonight but asked if I could bump it up earlier. She said a 5:15pm was available. Fine. I showed up at 5pm and gave them my name. To my surprise, she said that I was actually booked for 4:45pm and I was apparently already checked into my appointment. It turns out there was another Jennifer that was the 4:45pm appointment and already in receiving her service. There was some sort of mixup with two Jennifers and I'm not entirely sure they actually had me penciled in for my new time of 5:15 because she couldn't find me for that time slot. It was slightly uncomfortable for me sitting there listening them go back and forth about the mixup. In any case, I was brought in a few minutes later and my service was complete by 5:20. A few things to say about my experience tonight: -After researching a bit more on their website, I found that Haven charges 100% of your service if you cancel within 24 hours, but that is actually considered a "credit" which can be used within 2 weeks of your cancellation. Why wasn't this communicated to me over the phone when I called earlier? Had the receptionist informed me, I would have cancelled and used this "credit" on Sunday when I wanted to reschedule. -What happened to asking a customer if they wanted to rebook their next wax appointment? Quite frankly if the receptionist had asked me while checking out if I wanted to schedule my next wax, I probably would have and would have gotten me back as a regular customer again. read more

I've been here a few times now. Clean and pretty atmosphere, nothing exceptional. When you walk in you are greeted and prompted to the waiting area which is definitely calming but hard to relax with constant traffic and talking therapists walking by. A few times I booked on promotion but when checking out the girls at reception act like they have no idea a promotion is going on and you should get a promotional price. Super annoying.. Not sure if they are trying to pull a fast one to see if you're paying attention or if they genuinely have no idea what is going on. My last treatment felt like a factory that they were getting me in and out as quickly as possible. I was freezing cold as well. The therapist was nice, but let is slip that the service doesn't offer X and X ... Seemed almost like she was talking down on the menu of services. I'm not sure I'd come back. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Don't go there! I had shellac on from a previous salon, while I was on vacay in Canada. When I called to book an appointment, they said they would not take off the shellac if it's done by another salon. Instead they told me I can easily do it at home, by purchasing, acetone, cotton balls, and wrap up nails in I aluminum foil. I tried doing that at home and it didn't come off. I called them back and let them know of the situation, and they said I would need to go to another salon to take it off and then come back to them! Being a regular customer, this was extremely disappointing, and I will never go there again, and also will never recommend any of my friends that I've been coming to the salon. To be clear, it's not the receptionists fault, she was nice and trying her best, but it's their dumb policy that will turn away their existing and future customers. Absolutely disappointing! Mixed feelings on the various services I have received at Haven Spa. Waxing- I have been getting Brazilian waxes since I was 17 and this is without a doubt one of the best places to get your bikini/Brazilian done. First off no double dipping which is huge for me. Suri was amazing-she was quick, thorough, and made the experience pretty painless. The honey wax was really great. Body therapies- the island wrapture was such a great treatment and I love the Fiji products. I definitely want to come back and try the surf and turf treatment. See Marta. Facials- ok here is where my complaints come in. The first time I got a boot camp facial here I was extremely pleased and I had clear skin for months. But the last 3-4 times I have come here my skin has almost gotten worse! I had unfinished extractions which were causing more breakouts. I recently went to Maris Dusan for a classic facial and it was a world of difference (especially with the extractions). They even explained to me that I cannot have a facial massage before my extractions because that stimulation would cause more breakouts (something that the facialist at Haven would still do to me). I am a little disappointed. I expected the facialists here to be skincare experts especially since you are paying a lot of money. Overall- clean and relaxing spa. Though it is very beautiful inside I agree with another reviewer who commented on the bizarre and exposing locker room setup. I will be returning to Haven for waxing services but if you want an amazing facial by skincare specialists I recommend elsewhere. read more

I had 2 services done the "bitch massage" (yes that is the name of it) and a reflexology massage. My feet feel so much better as I've been having some foot pain as of late. This was my first trip to their new location. While the new space is beautiful, I did not enjoy my overall experience. The locker room was very nice and was excited to see there was a stream room. When I went to use the steam room it was either not turned on or broken, because there was no steam. I figured I would just ask the front desk after my massage. I went to put on my robe, and there was black hair around the tie (my hair is brown). I just brushed it off and headed to the waiting area which was nice and I enjoyed some tea. I then found another black hair on the robe. At that point I was seriously beginning to question if the robe had been washed. My therapist was not very pleasant. She asked me why I had chosen a Geek Massage and interrupted me when I started answering. I guess I looked slightly annoyed because she said "I have to ask that question." The massage itself was pretty good, but it felt repetitive and I was left covered in lotion. She would put lotion on the same area like three different times. I'm assuming the lotion was unscented but it gave off a sort of smell of dairy that had gone slightly sour. The fact that it was in a open tub, did not make it any more appetizing. The massage ended very abruptly with her saying "Thank you, the t-spheres are on the counter". It was like she was trying to leave the room as fast as possible. This was the first time I've ever had a massage where the therapist was not waiting outside with water or to check to see how I enjoyed the massage. At $145 for an hour, you expect some sort of bed side manner. I turned the wrong way to get to the locker room, somewhat out of it after the abrupt end to the massage, and wondered around until someone on the cleaning staff kindly pointed me in the right direction. Previously, when I got a greek massage here, the T-Spheres came with a oil to spray on the balls, noticing that was missing this time, I asked at the front desk if they had the oil. I was told that it only came with it if you purchased it and you only got the T-Spheres so you could bring them back next time. When I told her it had came with the oil last time, she just said "sorry." Later, when I went home and looked on T-Spheres website, I saw I had been given the "pure relief" uninfused/unscented t-spheres (which are green). This explains why there was no oil, but Haven description states "Includes a set of T Spheres (purified aromatherapy infused rubber massage balls) that are used during the session and then given to take home to utilize for trigger point work on individual specific issues." I was a little annoyed they had used the one type of T-Spheres which were not aromatherapy infused, when the description clearly states they will be. They did honor my $10 coupon from the other location which was good. read more

I love this spa. But after 2 unanswered emails about a part of a treatment I didn't receive, I have to resort to a 1 star review in hopes of getting an answer. I booked the Island Wrapture body treatment and a ME facial last week on my 40th birthday. The main reason I chose the body treatment was because it included a hair and scalp treatment with coconut oil per their website. I did not receive either but rather a simple and short head massage. At the time, I was enjoying the body treatment so much, I forgot what the scalp feature entailed. I have emailed the spa twice asking what happened but haven't heard back. They received my email asking for an appointment no problem so there's no way they haven't received my others. read more

Had a great spa day at haven! I did the hammam body treatment, hot stone massage, and the remedy facial. They were some of the best spa experiences I've ever had! My body treatment was very relaxing and my skin feels so soft and exfoliated now. My facial was also super thorough and my skin looks better already! My hot stone massage was just as good- incredibly relaxing; not too hard not too soft, and the stones felt great. Would definitely go back for more, and definitely recommend it to anyone else. read more

I really wanted to like it, but overall I wasn't impressed and did not feel like I got my money's worth. $370 with tip for an hour long massage and hour long facial felt like a waste. The facility is clean and they have a good locker room etc. front desk girls are nice, even the technicians are fine, but the actual massage and facial were just meh! I mentioned to my masseuse that I need to de stress and they started with wanting to sell me a more expensive massage but I decided to stick to the basic Swedish.At the end of 60 mins, still no massage for feet, lower back, no knots removed from shoulders. Facial also started with the technician selling me a more expensive facial and ensured it would help my dehydrated skin, I decided to go with it, but again minimum massage to face, no massage for hands or feet either, and painful extractions added more stress. Overall I feel like I have had much better facials and massages elsewhere, and after even paying all that money here i wasn't satisfied and still don't feel de stressed. Oh and I left just 12% tip cause I didn't feel more was deserved and I could sense some attitude from the originally friendly front desk lady! So ummm, not sure I m returning! read more

Came here for spa week which can be hit or miss as sometimes places are not worth much more than the 50 dollar special price. This is not the case with Haven. I choose it because they offer what they call a geek massage which focuses on areas that are stressed at desk computer jobs. My masseuse Lana did just that spending time on my back, my neck , up to muscles on skull which were surprisingly knotted. I felt much better afterwards and still feel stretched out now which is not always the case with massages as many time feel worse or relief was superficial. Not sure if worth 135 charge normally but if feeling tightened up from work will call and hope can fit me in. The place is big for a day spa in nyc but seemed very booked and I do not think with just spaweek people. read more

I went for the "little bitch massage" offered during Spa week, but, after speaking with my masseuse at the beginning of the session, we decided a "customized" service that focused on my arms and hands (I was very sore from tennis) would better fit my needs. Came here for a 90 minute swedish. No issues at check in and I was shown to the locker room to change. Locker room is small and the attendent point out the showers and a steam room. No changing rooms so I changed quickly and headed to the lounge. While heading into the small lounge I found a fully dressed man lying down on the c shaped couch and a kid playing with an ipad/phone. This make it very akward and I have to say I felt uncomfortable since I was in my birthday suit under my robe. IMO i think they should keep those people in the front waiting room and not in the back! On my way out I saw another fully dressed man sitting there with a computer bag. Luckily the masseuse arrived quickly to pick me up for my massage. Ariel the massage was awesome. He incorporated hot towels in with my massage that help alleviate my tight muscles. He was five stars! After the message I figure I try the steam room but it was more like a closet! After that disappointment I took a quick shower and let me tell you the shower was alao very tiny and the shower head is in the ceiling. It was quite a task to keep my hair from getting wet (they do not have shower caps) and to make it worst, they do not provide any brushes or combs. It was quite challenging to get my hair in a ponytail with my fingers. Thank god I did not wash it or else I would of been ....... I would not come back to this place! read more

**started this review off with 2 stars but have since been contacted by management who apologized and remedied the situation as much as possible.** upon walking into Haven, the atmosphere felt promising enough that i almost forgot the fact that the treatments i requested were somehow scheduled for the following saturday causing my group to make last minute changes to our spa day plans. they did do their best to resolve the issue and get us similar treatments at similar times for the intended day. it was an honest mistake and i would not have taken the time to mention it in a review if the rest of the experience was a decent one. After being asked at least 5x upon arrival, they still could not get our names or scheduled treatments right. (it was just 3 of us). again, something i would not even bother mentioning in a review except that i booked a deep tissue massage ahead of time, then verbally requested a deep tissue massage maybe 4 times in the waiting room, twice in my massage room and somehow i still didn't end up getting one. the masseuse gave me what might be considered a swedish massage, if the massage was for a butterfly or dying fish. i asked for more pressure twice and then i just gave up assuming this was the best she could do. there were moments where she actually just patted her hand on my leg or arm a few times and asked me if i was relaxed. my weak, old grandmother could've given me the same treatment from her wheelchair. fine- it was a crappy massage, actually the crappiest- it happens. i am writing this review because of what happened after it all. the last straw for me was the costumer service afterwards. as we were paying for our services, i was asked how things were and i told them. they didn't seem too concerned. i almost thought maybe they didn't hear me except that someone issued a mumbled whispered apology as they swiped my damn credit card. no one asked what happened, or tried to remedy the situation. not the way i would have handled things. good customer service is everything to me. aside from this, the place is nice and clean. decor is beautiful and calming. my sister loved her body scrub, and my friend had a great massage. i would suggest reading reviews and trying to catch the name of a good masseuse to ask for specifically for a deep tissue- unless you're a butterfly or dying fish of course. read more
