I purchased the $3,500 sofa a little more than a year ago I called it in. As soon as I noticed there was a scratch and a discolored stain about the size of a dime. I bought the extended warranty. I've been getting the runaround since I called it in. They said I needed to call it into the company that I had the policy with which is protect all. Then they said they no longer use protect all protect. All has not gotten back to me so I called Havertys again. They send a message to protect all. No response. Over a week ago I got a email saying that the repair has been assigned to haverty's once the quality control assurance has been approved. I don't know what this means. Said 5 to 7 days. It's been beyond that and still no response. I just called again. They are going to try to expedite it again. I love my pieces that I bought from them but will never buy from them again especially considering no one. Let me know that they weren't using the company I bought a $500 policy for. read more

I have purchased a few pieces of furniture from this business. I bought a sky/Reverie adjustable bed frame. After it quit working, Havertys made me call the manufacturer. The manufacturer is difficult to reach, they do not return phone calls, they do not return emails timely. My issue has been going on for years because I get so frustrated and walk away because I'm tired of calling and leaving a message after a message and not getting a return phone call. Over the years, I've reached out directly to Havertys and gotten absolutely NO help from them. The adjustable bed was around $2000. The warranty was absolutely awful, I still had to pay $250 to get the piece sent to me. I've been waiting for more than one and a half years to get a technician to my home to fix the bed. I finally spoke with the manager at Havertys today, her name is Amy B. I am incredibly frustrated as you can imagine. Amy was little to no help, as she is offended at how frustrated I am. Then she had the audacity to tell me I purchased my bedframe online! I 100% absolutely did not purchase this bedframe online. I was in their store when I purchased the bedframe. If one of their people ordered it online and had it delivered to me that is how she runs the business, not how I purchased the bedframe. I found her tone to be insulting, rude and unprofessional. I used to love Havertys, however, after getting no support from them in years, I will never ever purchase anything from Havertys again. I receive much better customer service through Wayfair! Which is a totally online furniture store that I have ordered through before and again their customer service was fantastic! Haverty's is a national furniture retailer established in 1885 with a strong presence in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. This location is the only Indiana Haverty's - you may recall it previously was located in a spot behind Castleton Square before moving into this far more visible setting directly on East 82nd Street. As a matter of note, there is a Greenwood location in the works. Haverty's is what I'd call a somewhat premium retailer for furniture, decor/accessories, mattresses/bedding, and free design services. They offer a regret-free guarantee. I say "somewhat" premium because Haverty's is definitely not a discount retailer - Bob's down the street and Value City not far away are both more value-based retailers. You'll definitely pay more here - you'll also get better quality. I'd always wanted to check out Haverty's, however, I seem to seldom be in this area when they're open. I was having lunch at nearby Upland Brewing and decided to wheel on down to check this out. Haverty's is in a strip center in the area vacated by Marsh. They've done major upgrades and it definitely no longer looks like a Marsh. Accessible parking is directly in front of the store. Curb cuts are well done. I was honestly stunned to find they have automatic doors (push-button). I was nicely greeted upon my arrival, however, there was no sense of hovering. The sales associate was helpful and friendly, however, she was never intrusive. I made it somewhat clear I had no plans to purchase today - I'd just always wanted to visit. She still maintained casual contact. As a wheelchair user, I have to also say that Haverty's is more accessible than the vast majority of furniture retailers I've visited. They've clearly put thought into their design. As a wheelchair user who can also afford to shop here, I greatly appreciate feeling welcomed. While I didn't buy today, I saw a couple items of interest. There was a bed I adored and a kitchen table I liked. I also was a fan of some of their art work and floor lamps. Again, there's not much cheap here. However, I also really didn't feel like it was that high-end. Associates were stationed throughout. There's also a design area. The design is warm and casual. There's plenty of space to look at things without getting in the way of others. As I told the associate, everywhere I wanted my wheelchair to get it could get. That's impressive. I'm not quite ready to go 5-stars, however, I found this to be a solid 4-star visit. The sales associate was good, the atmosphere was pleasant, and I did find items I appreciated. The accessibility may very well be the best I've seen for a furniture retailer. Overall, a definite winner. read more

Stopped in Havertys to look at sofas, love seats and an occasional chair. When we walked in we let the sales man know what we were looking for and then we wondered around. After looking we went back to the front to relook at the set we liked most. We asked about fabric, and the one set we liked the fabric could not be changed. There was a similar set without the tufting the fabric could be changed on. We were very rudely told they were closing in 5 minutes. I asked one last question and we left. Right on our heals was the gentlemen that told us they were closing. He was ready to go instead of dealing with a potential customer that may drop 2 to 3 thousand on a suite of furniture. I think they have a great selection of couches and sofas, but I walked in by myself and no sales associate said anything to me until 1 associate saw me after talking to 2 other people. Lots of nice furniture for not-too-steep prices. I was actually surprised at the prices, because I guess I had expected it to be a very expensive place to buy furniture. Happy customer!! I just had the most amazing experience at Haverty's! I am so happy we decided to stop in. Sunday, we stopped in after searching other furniture stores for weeks. I was less than impressed with other big name furniture stores because they lacked in quality and I have two teenage sons that wear and tear on anything I buy! I also didn't care for the attack at the door at other stores. I was exhausted and decided to give Haverty's a try! I was able to walk in in peace and was joyfully greeted by Patrice. She was so personable, honest and knowledgeable. We told her we needed to look around and come back. We did not feel any pressure. We returned today and purchased three bedroom sets from her. We ordered a chair in May and were told by the sales person that the chair would be in Mid-August. I had to call the store for updates because they did not send me any updates or emails to let me know the status of my order. I was told on those calls it looked like the chair was arriving mid-August... then another call oh it should be here this week (August 16th) and then another call... oh looks like early September. We just picked up the chair finally and it's October. We would have gone elsewhere if we knew the chair would take half a year to make. Just don't waste your time here. They don't keep you updated, and prices are too high for such horrible service. The only reason I'm giving them a 1 star is because of the people that work there. Their merchandise is great and they have great selection. However they need a more customer centric sales approach. Meaning don't assume only a certain type of person will buy. I understand retail is tight staffed nowadays and patience is key. I worked at Nordstrom for over 7 years in management so trust me I know that you can't judge a book by it's cover. For example, I went in today to look at some options, I already knew what material I was looking for in a sofa and that the price would start at min $3000 plus. I walked in with my daughter and just looked at the sectional sofas. There were many employees and an older couple was being helped and showed around. I had to help myself for 30 mins. Many employees made eye contact with me and not once said hi or "let me know if you have any questions" ect ect. After 30mins I finally spoke to an older gentleman with a bald head standing at the front with an iPad. I asked him if he had a certain type of sofa I had seen at Arhaus. I let him know what I was looking for. I kid you not I had to force him to have a conversation with me. I found the sofa I really wanted priced at 3,900 but due to this issue I would rather pay more somewhere else just to have all my concerns and questions answered genuinely! read more

Havertys allows you to customize the couch and choose your fabric. The salesperson was helpful, but would occasionally walk away and gave me time to think and make a decision. First time visiting and I found several items that I really liked. Prices are just slightly higher than other furniture stores nearby, but I think the difference can be found in the quality. Our salesperson was Linda, and she was very helpful and friendly. Two days before delivery, I received a delivery confirmation email with the expected timeframe of basically the entire afternoon. The email also informed me of the convenience of being able to follow the truck during its route on delivery day. Next day I received a 2 hour delivery window via email. On the day of delivery, I did use the tracker page which was actually pretty cool, allowing me to plan my day accordingly. The delivery guys called after the stop before me to let me know they were on their way. They arrived within the first 20 minutes of their 2 hour window. The delivery was fast, professional, and they made sure to clean up all packaging. They even explained the buttons and charging options on the new sofa. 5 star service from beginning to end. read more

We have two rooms that are shaped at odd angles so finding a way to decorate was difficult. Haverty's provided an interior designer (free of charge) to help us. She came up with fantastic ideas that I would have never visualized. Delivery was easy to set up with professional workers who did not scratch our floors or damage the doorway. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We previously bought furniture from another company (because it was cheaper) and had a horrible experience: salespeople lied to us, delivery was unreliable, and when the furniture was delivered they ruined our wood floor. We were in need of a love seat and went shopping all day. We decided on Haverty's because despite the high price, the one we found was great and when we consulted the salesperson she guaranteed us it could be delivered in two weeks. She even pulled the item up in their computer and showed us the stock levels and the deliverable date which stated it would be delivered in 2 weeks or less. We paid in full and left. A week later we received an email stating that delivery was scheduled for April 27th. 9 weeks from when we ordered. We needed it before then because we have company coming in late March. We understood many of the places we visited and looked at had wait times of 5-9 weeks. This was a factor and prompted our decision to go with Haverty's. We tried to contact the store to cancel the order or to get delivery remedied. At this point, a store call, 2 calls to corporate, an email, a complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau, and contacting the store online twice have all gone unanswered. The one person at corporate we spoke to has given us the assurance that they sent the message for the store manager to contact us and still nothing. Don't believe them. Between my husband and I, we couldn't agree on a set. Well, our fantastic salesperson, Patrice, followed up and and encouraged me to keep checking back for new merchandise. I looked that night, found a brand new beautiful set that had just arrived and had it delivered within a week. Hello I am a repeat customer, My sale person was name Mason he was great I was at La Z Boy furniture Galleries and saw a chair there that I wanted However I wanted to put down 20% and will be back that Friday with another 20% of the balance... Keep in mind the chair takes 4 weeks to make (if no issue arise)... The sale rep there keep stating I had to pay half.. So we left and went to Haverty's and the same chair was there... You hear me!!! Great selection, sales staff very responsive and knowledgeable of stock, attentive to understand what you are looking for. Improvement, always. No follow up to confirm a change in color selection for a cabinet associated with the larger order placed and paid for in store. In speaking with the sales person prior to leaving the store I had asked about a specialty mattress and I said I wanted to call back and order that day due o the Labor Day sale. They smiled and said yes and that indicated to me there would be a discount, there was not. When I called to place this order I had to ask about the discount. And they seemed slightly annoyed when I asked to repeat the final cost and then inquired specifically about the sale discount. It was then explained it didn't apply to this item. Lastly when providing Debit Visa card information for this phone order which we covered twice, the sales person said I'll call you back if there is a problem. I thought that was odd and since that comment was made as we were covering payment method, it just seemed strange. No explanation given as to why they thought there could be a problem. They have a huge eclectic selection of furnishings for the whole house. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They gave us the space we wanted to browse the store on our own. Havertys claims to be a cut above the rest. I think not. Their furniture is so cheap. I bought a sofa, 2 rocking recliners, 1 swivel glider rocking recliner, 3 accent chairs on 4/2018. The sofa is starting to wear. It's just my husband & myself no kids. One of the recliners is starting to set uneven, like one of the springs is broken down. The swivel rocker just flat out broke. I purchased their protection plan which is through Guardsman. They suck! I reported my chair was broken in Oct 2019 and today 1/31/2020 they delivered a new chair, except it's not the same chair. Actually, originally they gave me the choice of sending me a check for $165 or replacing the chair. I paid $599.99 for the original chair. Guardsman told me when they replace the broken chair, they won't insure the new one. It might not seem like a lot to some, but I spent 5K at the Castleton store and I SO REGRET IT! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I gave my Ashley furniture to my daughter when I got this new furniture. It's 14 years old and still going. Pretty sure the Havertys furniture won't make that. read more

Very nice furniture at affordable prices! I just bought a bedroom set for my daughters. It's very nice looking and good sturdy quality at a good price. Compare that to furniture of the same or maybe even lesser quality at Kittle's that was $1,000 more! The customer service was also fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable sales rep. As another reviewer pointed out, there is also a kids' lego table in the children's bedroom area. That was a life saver! I've had to walk out of other furniture stores due to rowdy kids, but my girls were happy to be at this store. My wife and I also got a very nice bedroom set about 5 or more years ago. It's held up well and is also nice looking and good quality. I noticed they still sell the same bedroom set all these years later, so it must indeed be popular and good quality. read more

(TL;DR Spent close to $6k expecting a high quality product from a quality company. The product broke within 3 years and the company was not empathetic or accommodating to my situation for $100 fix. See review on Google for pictures.) I purchased a bed set from Havertys on September 8, 2016. I chose this location after visiting a number of competitors locally and within the Indianapolis area for the fact that they have the aesthetic designs to match my personality but most importantly the framework seemed to be more thoughtfully designed to potentially endure years of use. My total bill was approximately $5,800 which, includes king size mattress, king size bed frame, dresser with mirror, nightstands, and a chest. Fast forward to a couple days a go, I was sitting/leaning up against the edge of the bed when I hear and feel a cracking from underneath where I sat. I reach underneath with my phone and snap a few pictures with my phone (see attached). A crack had propagated through the center of one of the slats that supports the mattress. There was a knot in the wood which, reduces the strength and lowers the cost of material. Since the knot was located in the center of the full length of the slat, the moment is greater when a force is applied. Simply put the wood was cheap and should have been thrown out but it wasn't to save costs. I have invested a significant amount of money, after working hard to earn it, into this product so I thought I give Havertys a call in hopes of working something out. The first person was polite and respectful. The person explained to me there wasn't much that can be done because the product was out of the one year warranty. I understood how warranties work and my choices were to either buy the wood and do the work my self or I could pay Havertys $99 for them to send out a service team member to fix the bed for me. I had hopes of working out a better deal than this so I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor started off polite but when I stated that I wasn't happy with the options, the person became short and aggressive. As a customer who spent significant amount of time and money into their products, I had hopes of being taken care of which, didn't include spending more money and time to fix problems that could have been avoided. The supervisor repeated one final time if I understood the warranty had expired then proceeded to conclude the call if I did not accept either of those two options. Needless to say, I am not pleased with my experience with this company because for the company to eat the cost of the service call would equal approximately 1.7% of the total cost of the sale. read more

Horrible! I spent thousands in that store. They told me it would be here today between 1-3. They sent me an email yesterday to confirm and they also called to confirm (also last evening). I missed an opportunity to do many other things today as I was waiting on my delivery. When 3 came and went I called to see how much longer it would be. They can't even give me a time. The truck is at another delivery and it will be "maybe tonight" when it gets here. I asked to speak to a manager and have been on hold the entire time I'm typing this. Part of my delivery is a china cabinet, so I unpacked the china to get ready for the cabinet and now have china all over the living room. I missed an entire day to this and now probably a night. I thought I was dealing with a professional company. They didn't even give me a phone call so I could have at least have had the option to do something else or more importantly....shop somewhere else! I couldn't even have my granddaughter over. So upset. They don't even care.......still on hold.... read more

We showed up to Haverty's after going to several other furniture stores in this area. Haverty's had the best selection at our price range. Sue was our customers sales agent and she was the right amount of helpful without being pushy as some can be. We took all the information and then thought about the couch. We came back 2 weeks later and Sue remembered us, asked how our closing went , etc. We decided to buy the couch, she discounted the price some and we were in an dout the door in under 1/2 hour. They were able to deliver within 3 business days. They called 15 minutes before delivery, delivered it in great condition, laid down rugs to not scuff or dirty floors and were out in 15 minutes. The day before my delivery was scheduled to come, i got a confirmation call that my purchase was being delivered to the wrong address. I was able to get a very unhelpful customer service representative on the phone, who assured me that the issue had been resolved and my delivery would be at my correct address between 12-1pm. The next morning at 8:45 am, I received a call that my delivery would be arriving in 15 minutes, to the wrong address! I spoke with the delivery driver about the mix up from the day before and that I was told 12-1. The delivery finally arrived to my apartment at 3pm. The drivers were very helpful, it was the only positive of my experience with Haverty's. read more

If I could them Havertys 0 stars I would. My wife and I bought a chair from them and after bringing it home we found there was a green paint spot on the back and the back legs went in crooked. I called the store within an hour of getting the chair home to inform them of this. They told me that the soonest they would have a technician come out and look at the chair would be a week. I wasn't too happy with that, but I agreed. I got a call on Friday (the day before the technician was supposed to come) confirming my appointment from 10:45-12:45, which I agreed with. I got a call the following morning, Saturday, at 8:30am informing me that they are already behind and will not be able to make it until later the afternoon and I could not be around for a later appoitment. I told the person on the phone and they said that the best they could do is have me take 2 photos of the chair, upload them to the website and they would get back to me within 24 hrs. So, I took two photos of the crooked legs, and 1 of the paint (at this point I felt like I was doing customer WORK and not getting customer service, aka doing the tecnicians job for them.) I uploaded the pictures to the webiste Saturday morning. I checked my email Monday and still NO response from anyone at Haverty's. I called them asking why my request has been ignored and informed them of my current situation. I then asked to speak to the sales representative who sold us the chair and informed him of all that has happened. He was apologetic and asked what he could do. I asked for the current chair to be picked up and a new one delivered at no cost on Wed. at 5 since my wife and I work till 5. He said that would be done and again he's very sorry. I get a follow up called the next day asking me to confirm the delivery for Wed. and I agreed. I get another call the following day and the time has changed to 2:30-4:30. I called Havertys, again, to inform them no one will be home. They said they can't deliver after 5. I asked to speak to a supervisor this time and still, no luck. They said they cannot make a delivery after 5, AFTER I was told that they could from one of their in store sales associates. I now will have to wait 2 weeks to get a chair in working condition. Havertys does not care about their customers whatsoever. They have my money and don't seem to care to give their customers good customer service. After given a defected chair, cancelling TWO scheduled appointments, and refused to be given any good customer service I recommend NEVER giving Havertys your business. They will just take your money and give you a piece of junk and a bunch of run around reasons why they won't make exceptions for poor performance by them. read more
