Was feeling thirsty and this did the trick. I'd say it was fairly reasonably priced. It was a small place with just a counter and when I went there was only one person working so it took a little bit for me to get my smoothie.

Small store. Solid smoothies and acai bowls that don't skimp on the fruit toppings. I also tried their Green Kale Bowl, which I actually like more than their acai bowl. Good portions!

Great avocado smoothie. Very creamy. Light. Good dose of avocado. Delicious. Big cups and nice thick straws easy for slurping.

Playa bowls/açaí bowls seem to be the new hot trend everywhere I go in the tri-state. I usually go to Playa Bowls while I'm traveling in NJ, but I decided to try something new since I was in Manhattan. Hawa Smoothies is on par with Playa Bowls. The original açaí bowl I tried was really tasty and I added Goji berries for an added kick. The prices are fair for the area too.

Super great to have an affordable healthy option in the area for a solid (ironically) liquid lunch or breakfast. Their signature drinks are pretty delicious but you also have the option of creating your own. They have a multitude of bases if you don't subscribe to the orange juice or dairy based drinks found elsewhere. I happened to be present when they received their fruit delivery and it's so lovely to witness. The fresh fruit, neatly packaged and sent to the rear for prep, makes you want to eat it on sight. I love how clean and neat the counter and work space for juicing is maintained. Hawa loses two stars due to lack of consistent organization and for not offering any food options that are not highly processed. Sometimes Hawa is open on time and sometimes you'll have to try again later. It would help if they at least put up signage. Worth checking out if in the area.

I was drawn to their boba (as I often am), but walked out with smoothies for me and my family, so I guess I have to go back and try their boba another day. It is so unnecessarily difficult to find decently priced smoothies in the city. I think I usually pay at least $7 for one (for NO reason.) Hawa's cheapest smoothies come in at $6, which isn't really "cheap," per se, but it's "cheaper" which is definitely something. I loved how the store looked when you went inside-- it feels refreshing and smells like fruit so it really gets you in the right mood for drinking a smoothie and making yourself feel like you're eating healthy from all groups of the food pyramid. We got: Berry Mull (3.5/5), Orange Pineapple (4.5/5), Mango Banana (4/5), Sweet Spin (4/5). None of them were bad, though my sister's berry mull tasted like there may have been added sugar in it (though it may have just been the protein powder). The sweet spin had the right amount of fruit and vegetables. I ordered my mango banana after they told me they ran out of mango papaya. I was worried that the flavors would make the smoothie too sweet, but it wasn't at all. Unfortunately the only thing I found with my drink was that it was somewhat watery and left a strange aftertaste. As you can see in the photo, they use those dome lids and I was so happy that they fill the cups up even into the dome rather than wasting a lot of smoothie. Overall I'm happy with my experience and am looking forward to that boba.

Can't say enough good things about this place. After having a smoothie here for the first time a couple years ago, nothing has ever compared. These people are NOT skimpy on the fruit and the texture of the smoothie base (or if you get a drink) is so incredibly smooth and full of flavor. It does take a little long when it's busy, but it's so worth the wait every time. The place itself is really small with just a few bar stools so don't expect to have seating if going on a hot day, but you can really eat what they have anywhere so it's never been a problem for me. If you haven't stopped in yet, what are you waiting for?!

I'm ECSTATIC Hawa is now in the UWS! (I've been a fan of their UES location which is close to work for me, so now that Hawa is in the hood, I cannot wait to spend all of my money here on the regular) My go-to smoothie is the Açaí Punch! And I love their açaí bowls -- I like my açaí thick (not soupy) and their bowls are perfection. Everything is so fresh and delicious! The store can be easy to miss currently without additional signage, so keep your eyes open at the corner of Amsterdam and 84th!

I stumbled upon this place as I was walking through the UWS. The place is small but super clean and very cute. I ordered the coconut açaí bowl. It was so delicious and refreshing. The portion was bigger than expected. Well worth the $11. Staff was friendly and my order came out quickly. I'll definitely be returning!

This is pretty fucking good and not extremely expensive like many other places like this. Hard to find because the name isn't on the building. It was the correct place luckily for me when I came by. This is located on Broadway at 101st on the Upper West Side. Beware there's only room for a couple of customers. Order a smoothie or a bowl, and they make it fresh. It's about $11 for a bowl. The prices are decent. I had the Açaí Peanut Butter Bowl. This came with the frozen pureed açaí, and was topped with coconuts, granola, and peanut butter of course. It doesn't have any room for seating inside because it's such a small building. It's takeout only. That's okay because the Hudson River waterfront will only be a few blocks away and that's a cool place for eating bowls and such.

This smoothie has the perfect combination of avocado, spinach, cucumber, banana, and peanut butter. The staff make it super creamy (not icy at all) and you can always taste the flavor of avocado and peanut butter, but they do not overpower the drink. The large size is usually sufficient for a meal and keeps me full for a few hours. The staff are always welcoming and accommodating; they always confirm your order and choice of milk in advance. While the shop is clean, it is very small so there isn't much seating inside with only one stool, but they provide bags for grab and go.

I've always been a sucker for this frozen treat, so I'm glad Red Mango is still around. This location is in an Edgewater shopping plaza. I came by on a Sunday evening and it was quite busy! They have a decent amount of tables and seating inside. Other than froyo, they also serve juices, smoothies, power bowls, and coffee. They have 6 froyo machines with 12 different flavors - a mix of sweet, nutty, tarty, and fruity. There aren't any nutrition facts posted on the machines, so be mindful of dietary restrictions/allergies. You can ask the staff for sample cups. It's all self-serve so you choose your cup, pick your flavors, dispense the handle, and swirl away. Then you can add on as many toppings as you want at the counter. There's nuts, candies, fruits, cookies, sauces, etc. They charge you $0.89 per ounce so it's really easy to rack up $$$. I got the Creamy Taro and Original flavors with strawberries, gummy bears, and mochi. The froyo texture was just right - not too icy and not too watery. It had a smooth, soft-serve like texture. The flavors were true to their names and tasted exactly how they're supposed to. The original was tarty and tangy, just how I like it. My cup was about $9. Service could have been a bit better. There were two employees at the time. They didn't greet customers or tend to them at the machines. The line was moving a bit slow since one girl was working the register and making drink/bowl orders at the same time. Some of the toppings at the counter needed to be refilled. Overall, this is a good spot to fulfill your frozen yogurt cravings.

The flavors are delicious and do rotate seasonally so it's always something different and fun. My only reason for deducting a star is because one flavor I got ended up being kinda less cold and slightly runny. My other flavor, pistachio, however, was super rich and delicious. Lower calories and fat than ice cream, and just as enjoyable. I love the options of choosing my own toppings, which many yogurt places no longer offer. Get some while they're still around!!

This place has become a staple in my relationship. It's where we had our official first date at…read more It's within the park, and there's plenty of ample parking around the park with a short walk down to the Playa Bowls. Bathroom The bathroom is for customers only, and you get the code from within. It's a GORGEOUS bathroom, well-kept. There are public restrooms outside of the establishment that are not that great, but if you don't want to buy something make sure to have some hand sanitizer with you. They're clearly the park's bathrooms and not the establishments responsibility. Seating There is no seating indoors, which is a bummer. I would love to enjoy the atmosphere of this park some more from inside. Especially on a hot summer day, I'm in no mood to get burned by the metal chairs overlooking the lake. Needless to say, the views are stunning even while just waiting for our food to be ready! Park Itself I haven't experienced this park in full depth as much as I want to because like I said, there's no seating inside. There is small walking trails, but whenever we go, weather is not on our side. The first time we came here, it started raining and we created an in-car theatre instead which was lovely! But in general, after that, and since it's been diabolically hot ever since we've always took our meals back into the car. There are cars driving up at the bottom of the park, right next to Playa Bowls. It caught me off-guard, so if you're with kids or pets be sure to keep an eye out for them. Selection I love the fact that there is something so healthy to eat in a gorgeous spot! There is a HUGE selection, and I love being able to try a new bowl each time. My favorite so far has been the Pink Flamingo. It is a cold treat, so it is perfect on a hot summer day! Be mindful that protein powder can give some people an upset stomach or the runs, and if you're sensitive, I suggest trying a bowl that doesn't include that. Each item lists ingredients, and you can customize it to your needs. I have not been able to finish a full bowl myself, and get full off of 3/4 of it. My man has finished his and whatever is left over of mine. It is satisfying for a big burly man like himself though. Other Notable Mentions The establishment also has a bowl of water of dogs walking through the park if they need a quick drink, which I think is the sweetest thing ever! There's also a Cuban coffee shop, Rumbas Cafe, right across from Playa Bowls. I haven't been in it myself yet, but I did try one of the coffees my man ordered himself briefly one day. Overall I hope to see some indoor seating open up soon. There is an upstairs, but supposedly it's locked to the public still. Crossing my fingers that it's in the works! Everyone who works here is really nice, and our food is always done quite quickly. The shop is well-lit and has AC. Great park for photo ops, walking, dates, and/or family-time. Well-thought out location for a great treat!
