Something I like about this place is that the counter is set up so you can see the fresh fruits/veggies they used. It also seems like they're "health focused", so there are a bunch of posters talking about the benefits of certain ingredients. They have interesting smoothies with a purpose such as "Sex Drive Smoothie" (bow chicka wow wow ;)) or "Metabolic Supercharge". I also like how customizable the drinks are (with an upcharge of course). I ordered the "Slim n' Fit", which has Passion Fruit + Mango + Celery + Flax Seed. I added kale into mine and it was super delicious. I have no interest in weight loss, but I love passion fruit. I found the smoothie to be very delicious and refreshing, especially for warmer days we have coming. I found it to be worth it! I also think it's priced comparably to other smoothie spots in UES. I've seen that there are mixed reviews on the boba, which I have not tried, so I cannot speak to it. But I thought the smoothies were flavorful and fresh. I definitely will be returning :)

I went with the namesake, the green mandala! It's made with apple juice, mango, kale, spinach, and banana. It was the perfect consistency, I hate when smoothies are thin and watery! The flavor was fresh and sweet but didn't taste too healthy. Truly perfection. It's a grab and go spot - we walked to Central Park which was about 10 minutes from the Green Mandala.

The first time I had an Oolong Milk Tea for $5.25 with added grass jelly, which was decent. I asked for low sweetness, and the sugar level was properly low. In terms of oolong, I prefer other spots with a stronger tea flavor, but it was better than some standard spots like Vivi or others like it. Regarding the topping, the flavor was standard, and they added a lot of grass jelly, which was a plus. The second time, I had the much better Es Campur for $8, consisting of Cocopandan, condensed milk, jackfruit, grass jelly, lychee jelly, tapioca, and coconut. This was a fun spin on the usual Indonesian dessert, which is served over ice, as per the name. There was a mild floral flavor, some sweetness, and plenty of lychee jelly in particular. The tapioca was alright, but other spots have a better chew. The bit of jackfruit inside was nice, as was the coconut flavor. This was good. While this is not my favorite bubble tea place (which is a given, as they use powders for many flavors,) it certainly beats out some of the more generic options. For those of us who live in between, we're stuck with this one. I have a love/hate relationship with ViVi. The love comes out of necessity, because there simply aren't many accessible boba shops in the neighborhood. The hate comes from their lackluster drinks. The taro brulée is their most decent drink. It does the job, but it's not amazing either. The worst drink is the strawberry yakult which, I kid you not, tasted like medicine. The strawberry was so artificial. It reminded me of the Flinstones vitamins I was forced to take as a child. Yuck. On the bright side, this neighborhood is warming up to Asian shops, as seen by the two Japanese stores opening in the low 90s and 70s. I just hope more boba shops will follow suit.
