Good take out sushi. Either select among the pre-made sushi or place an order. The rotating $6 daily special is a great value. Wish the ehomaki was served all year bc the fillings are unique & delicious. Friendly service. Weekday parking is fairly easy in the small shared parking lot. TIP: They have a stamp card.

Small sushi spot with couple tables to sit outside or a small bar top inside. Service was quick and friendly. She brought our sushi out fast. I was surprise. But happy as I was so hungry The fish tasted so fresh, we really did enjoy the sushi. We picked the Big island roll, Crunchy lava roll and spicy Ahi Jalapeño. Great little joint for a quick bit, for fresh sushi or poke bowls. I would only say for me, there was a little too much rice on the big island roll.

I used to come here a lot until shrinkflation happened. I got their $6 daily special which was chiraishi. Unfortunately it was literally two pieces of fish and half a shrimp cut into little pieces with a smattering of edamame. What little fish inside didn't taste fresh and the rice tasted stale also. I've had their spicy ahi poke bowl which was cat food -- overly marinated mushed poke with stale rice. Two times in a row were a fail. I am so disappointed sorry but I'm never coming back.

Today I got to try the Ahi Set Bento for $10.75 and it was very fresh and great. Also, the server was very friendly and helpful.

If the gods of the Pacific Ocean decided to open a restaurant, they would weep with inadequacy upon tasting the poke at Hawaii Sushi. This unassuming Waikiki gem serves what can only be described as cubed poetry, each glistening morsel of ahi so impossibly fresh it practically still remembers its swim through Hawaiian waters that morning. The texture? Butter that went to finishing school. The flavor? A symphony of sesame, shoyu, and the dreams of every tourist who ever wished upon a Honolulu sunset. I have traveled to Tokyo. I have eaten at temples of raw fish where omakase costs more than my first car. And yet here, in this magnificent establishment, I found myself openly emotional over a bowl of poke that costs less than a mediocre sandwich at the airport. And then there is the six dollar special. SIX DOLLARS. In Waikiki! A place where hotels charge you twelve dollars for a bottle of water and call it "resort pricing." For the cost of a fancy coffee, Hawaii Sushi delivers a meal so satisfying, so gloriously abundant, that you will question every financial decision you have ever made elsewhere on this island. This is not just a restaurant; this is an act of culinary generosity, a middle finger to overpriced tourist traps, a beacon of hope for hungry travelers everywhere. Go. Go immediately. Tell them nothing, because they need no introduction. Just point at the poke and prepare to have your soul rearranged.

I love their spicy ahi avocado rolls. I ordered the combo roll this time which came with unagi and cucumber, California, and spicy ahi and avocado rolls. Their spicy ahi is what really stands out to me so I'll stick to that next time.

Fresh and good quality fish. Flavorful sauces. Made with care. Polite staff, patient as we ordered which took a while because everything looked really delicious. Wish there was more space to sit and eat, but we ended up taking our food to the lookout to enjoy views of the ocean which was better.

Fresh fish, fast service, not much place to sit but the perfect place to pick up your favorite fish and head to the beach for a little picnic.

I can't believe I haven't written a review sooner, but maybe because I love this spot too much. Sometimes you need sushi at an affordable price without the affordable taste, and Hawaii Sushi always hits the spot. The spicy Hamachi is my go to, I love how clean and refreshing it tastes with the lemon. But honestly I have not gone wrong with anything I've gotten here. The service is always great with such nice workers and the quality on peak. I will be back again and again.

So I wanted to try this place. The pricing looks great. Nice little spot. BUT.... i'm glad someone bought my lunch here, and not paid for out of my own pocket. The staff is nice and the place is clean. Place does get busy and therefore no parking at times. It's a small spot. The sushi presentation was gorgeous. Volcano Roll was - sub par (and this was the best one). The maki rolls caught me by terrible surprise. It looked gorgeous with its colors, just to eat it, and see that it tastes like - NOTHING. Couldn't put my finger on it! Ahi Tataki, tamago, ebi, unagi, salmon, cucumber, mayonnaise, nori, sesame seed, and ..... Regular RICE! Not sushi Rice. Super sad face! I'm pretty sure if they made just added a little, it would have changed my outlook. Don't get me started on the wasabi! And i'm a wimp to wasabi. The best part of the meal? The ginger! If I had cravings for sushi of this price but wanted better caliber? I suggest 7-11, safeway, foodland.....basically anywhere else I would rather pick up sushi from. My hope for this wasn't as great as I hoped for it to be. I've had bad sushi, but this was disappointing. I hope that this does improve? or maybe they had an off day, but no sushi rice? No Thank you!

    Spicy ahi bowl with avocado
    Courtney O.

I absolutely love a spicy ahi bowl made with minced ahi-Japanese style (as opposed to local style big chunks). It's the style you'll typically find at Kozo, where the pieces of ahi are smashed small into almost a paste. I know that doesn't necessarily sound the most appetizing but it is and it's my favorite way to have a spicy ahi bowl. Saw pictures of Hawaii Sushi paired with the good reviews so I had to give it a try. It was delicious! High quality sushi with a solidly large portion! I got the avocado spicy ahi bowl and it seemed like there was a whole avocado in there. Seriously great portion size. The rolls were also killer and super good! Great quality sushi spot for quick on the go!

Credited food sushi order and replacement food option at Health Bar nearby on the same strip

Ok, I'm going to say I really loved this spot!! So it went from a 4 star unfinished review to 3 after this unflattering experience. Out of no where there started to charge ($2) for their rice vinegar. I found this out after I had placed my order and a lady front the kitchen side came to me and said that. It was unpleasant. And it's not advertised so it very much felt like they/she just decided to make that up. I have a soy allergy, but it takes me eating soy for it to affect me. She went out of her way yo make sure I didn't have any faith in my ability to eat here and decider to cancel my order and get a green smoothie at the Health Bar next door. So if soy allergies are not an issue for you and you don't mind paying $2 for rice vinegar if you want it. Then it's still a good sushi spot to come to. I'm going to take a break from sushi and this spot for sure. But it's still decent even if their manners and policies could be improved.

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge but every bite? Certified bangers. Not one bad bite had. I miss seeing the sushi chef in person. The sushi that I had was delicious and the preparations were unique (to me) the pieces were smallish, but so yummy. I would have ordered more but I was not very assertive and everyone wanted the iPad . Most of the nigiri orders were only one at the price point I am used to paying for two and I prefer the experience of sharing. My husband at the other table sampled more than I did. Deep fried Octopus and Toro, I had Yellow Tail and Carpacio, sample two rolls. Big surprise, the French fries were outstanding. The check worked out to about 50 pp. I think that was mostly my husband who enjoyed an array of dishes. As mentioned in other reviews, the bill stacks up quickly.
