I needed assistance and decided to call this business at +1 (855) (546) (5596) The response time was decent and the person on the line tried to help as much as possible. I had to be transferred once, but the second representative handled things better and gave me the correct information. It wasn't perfect, but it was still a workable experience. I'm leaving this review to share how things went for me personally.

This review is only for the area of Gate 15 and 16 on the top area before you approach your boarding gates. What a welcome surprise to see the remodeled waiting area. They splurged on long comfy sturdy couches with charging stations below. Saw several passengers take advantage of the ability to sprawl out and take a quick cat nap. There are also new white seating arrangements for single to groups of 4 with tables in front and even hassocks to elevate your feet if you're so inclined. If there were charging ability for these too it would be excellent. Great job Hawaiian Airlines. Much appreciated for the upgraded waiting area for A15 and 16.

Overpriced, but makes the flight faster. Bought three items for about $30.

I've only been flying Hawaiian and Alaska lately. I like everything about the experience a lot more than other airlines. We upgrade our seats to the level right below first class. Worth it for the extra room and for the ability to choose your most desired seat(s). I love the staff for Hawaiian. The wifi always works fast w no fuss and the restrooms on board are always very clean. I don't think first class for a 5 hr flight is ever worth it, like. Even if I had big money like Bezos money- I just couldn't justify first class on a 5 hr flight when these premium or whatever they're called, seats are pretty comfortable lol...

    I love a window wing seat (04/24/26). @HawaiianAirlines @DanielKInouyeAirport #HNL #Honolulu #Traveling

(Traveled 04/24/26 FR @ 12:39pm and several times before): Aloha and how are ya!? I've been a fan of Hawaiian Airlines to/from Honolulu (HNL) and the Hawaii inter-islands ever since I was a kid, but I have recently utilized Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines, respectively, because of cheaper and more flights. Now that Alaska and Hawaiian merged in 2024 and ultimately combined to create the Atmos Rewards loyalty program, it made it possible to carry over any mileage points I had. This was my story: PURCHASE(S) One-Way Nonstop Coach Airfare ($84.90): Since I booked the flight two months before its departure, this fare was a bit out of my comfort level of $60.00 for any one-way Hawaii inter-island air travel during the high season (spring break months). On an afternoon flight out of Honolulu (Oah'u) HNL that arrived in Lihue (Kaua'i) LIH around 1:03pm the same day, the nonstop flight departed a tad late but still arrived on-time. Checked Luggage (N/A): Thankfully, I traveled light and only had a carry-on and backpack. Otherwise, they customarily charged $30.00-$40.00/bag. FLIGHT EXPERIENCE ~Check-in: I checked-in through their app 24-hours prior, had my QR code boarding pass saved to my Google Wallet, and traveled with only a carry-on and backpack, so I was ready to go! Then, it was off to the security checkpoints and through the necessary TSA pleasantries...which surprisingly went quickly thanks to my TSA Precheck and Global Entry status. Once that was done, I headed toward my plane's gate with the excitement that always came when leaving on a vacation - sweet! ~Seat 24F Window: It generally was the same sardine can like all airplanes these days, so unless you were in Business or First Class you got to know your neighbors to the left, right, front, and back of you! However, on this particular aircraft, the Coach seats had some room, and I was able to daydream out of the wing window. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=6GjE8m0_qWw5FmPgMeREKw ~In-flight Meals/Snacks (Varied; only snacks this instance): The drink cart came out once we were at cruising altitude. Alcohol and certain kinds of food were made available for purchase. I normally didn't purchase such things on a flight. Thankfully, they provided a COMP drink (I chose a passionfruit guava orange juice 4floz oz juice) before the landing gear started to come down on the approach. ~Lavatory: These were located towards the front and at the back of the plane. Because of the short flight, I had no need for them. ~Service & Amenities: All uniformly-dressed flight attendants were adequate and spoke perfect English. On this particular aircraft, none of the seats had video monitors. The seats themselves were roomy enough. No blankets, headphones, or pillows were provided. Because of the short inter-island flight time, the attendants came around once for drinks and then for trash collection. There were no carry-on baggage fees. PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I traveled through and had no need to park (I was dropped off). However, the airport offered onsite parking garages with rates that varied depending on length of stay from FREE (less than 15 minutes) and around $1.00 (16-30 minutes) to a range of $27.00/daily maximum (8+ hours). Because my gate was located within Terminal 1 of departing flights, you had to already be an outgoing or incoming passenger to even get here, so parking would be a moot point. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located deep into Terminal 1 (specifically Gate 15), filled with several other gates, plenty of reasonably-priced eateries and duty-free shops, and many monitors as you passed them along the way. There were sufficient places to sit in the terminal with plenty of natural and electric lighting. Once on the airplane, it seemed like any other, so nothing really needed to be said or seen here, but I wished I recalled the type of plane since I was nerdy like that! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=V9D7TPW92BOlmwH90y4CVQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. I liked to be unencumbered and unfettered, so the least amount of clothing, especially while I traveled through an airport, the better! OVERALL My one-way nonstop flight on Hawaiian Airlines out of HNL was fine and got me there safely which truthfully was all that mattered to me on any domestic or inter-island (as in this case) flights. In any case, I'd fly and recommend them again. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $85.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Babies should be seen not heard. If for 25% or more of the flight a baby is squealing at its loudest most irritating decibel just to hear its own voice because it owns its parents then parents should be fined 100 dollars. I get it when baby is in pain or scared or pooped itself but this one was an all out a$$hole. Just squealing to tell parents I want my way and I'm going to take it. If I was not allowed to make noise when I was 3 then everyone else whos 3 should shut the hell up. I learned from when I was young don't be screaming bloody murder in a quiet room. If your baby owns you like this one does then they shouldn't be allowed on planes until they turn 12. In fact and especially to Las Vegas they should have designated adults only planes. Or 12 and up. This baby seriously needs discipline.

    Chicken S_it Service, not Aloha

Flight cancelled.....6 prepaid....one 90 year old and one 88 year old in wheelchairs,1 70 year old w a pacemaker but walking, and 3 over 60 adults, 60,68,and 69.... Had to scramble to find food, lodging and extend 2 rental cars. No assistance or compensation offered by airline for expenses or inconvenience. 24 hour delay on flight. 1 person is going to miss an important business appointment that Will probably lose a lucitave deal due to this BS. Just pay for better air travel....Hawaiian is now Alaska....no Aloha anymore....just a big snowjob

Last week was the first time my family and I had ever flown on Hawaiian Airlines - we were headed from Honolulu to Sacramento. What a great airline! Checking in at 10am went fairly smoothly and the airline staff were friendly - I also thought they communicated great while at the gate! I also love that Hawaiian Airline has assigned seats - I hate feeling rushed especially when flying with family. It's nice to know that we aren't having to look for 3 seats together once we are on the plane. The airplane was huge - 8 seats in each row! 2 on either side of the windows and 4 in the center. They also have screens in front of each seat that plays all of the airline information plus the safety procedures. I actually enjoyed this more rather than watching someone play with the floatation device and seatbelt. You could also watch the progress of the flight - how fast we were flying, the elevation, the temperature and the time left until we reached our destination. The screens offered free movies and TV shows, you will need to bring plug in headphones or an adapter in order to listen though, but they do offer plug in headphones for $4. Not only do they offer free drinks (including a complimentary cocktail), a free snack and a sweet treat - they also come around with a menu where you can buy additional snack boxes - we bought one that included crackers, hummus, nuts and a granola bar. On the way to Sacramento, we were given a pesto, chicken and cheese hot pocket type of sandwich that was pretty good and a Honolulu Cookie. We felt spoiled! Flight attendants were friendly and they even walked up and down the aisles offering water periodically - they were great at collecting trash multiple times too. I also liked having multiple bathrooms available on the plane for our 5 hour flight and you could visit their attendant compartments at any time to get more snacks and drinks instead of waiting for them to come around. Also, the free WiFi is amazing and you can still text while in airplane mode! I can't wait to book another flight with Hawaiian Airlines!

Hawaiian Airlines remains the goto airline for travel to and from the Hawaiian Islands. The new wide body airplanes offer more space and a more relaxing experience. These planes provide free high-speed internet. We flew back with the San Diego University Men's basketball team. They were all able to sit in the standard business class section in the seats immediately in front of us. Their conversation with each other shared how surprised they had more room on the flight. They we 6'5" to 7'1" players. To give you a visual, they were looking down into the overhead bins to load their bags. Again size and spacing on the plane was uplifting and made the four and a half hour flight across the Pacific Ocean enjoyable. Will be watching the Super Bowl in the next hour on the plane!

They will take your baggage you check and lose it. Then you'll have to fly to a different island to reclaim it or pay FedEx to ship it for more than the price of your plane ticket.

Is it worth paying the extra leg room from SF to HNL?

You can checkin 24 hours before your flight. Checkin online and select seat upgrades. Totally worth it for $50/seat upgrade for more leg/tummy room. The upgraded seats are the EXIT rows. It was Row 26 for my plane. Usually I can't use the table…

Anyone who has paid for extra comfort, did you get a priority line pass for TSA? The website says your entitled, but last trip I took n paid for extra comfort, the gate lady said the extra comfort doesn't get priority line for TSA?

paying for extra comfort is independent of priority line pass for TSA

I recently flew one-way with Southwest Airlines from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) Terminal 2 to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). They had been my favorite domestic carrier for years (I wished they flew internationally!) until Alaska Airlines dethroned them with more routes. Southwest Airlines cornered the southwest and west coast air traffic markets, respectively, and have flown them for business and pleasure. Did this airline still rule the southwest skies!? PURCHASE(S) One-Way Wanna-Get-Away Airfare ($253.10): Nowadays, I booked one-way flights because I usually had more flexibility when I needed to return. However, in this particular case, I needed to be back in Los Angeles for a work event the next afternoon. Since I booked the flight less than three weeks before its departure, I was basically screwed for domestic air travel during the medium season (I returned right after the spring break window). On a red-eye direct flight that arrived in Los Angeles around 5:30am the next morning, it allowed me enough time to get home, get ready, and get to my work event. Checked Luggage (Varied; N/A this instance): This once FREE amenity has since been removed and now was a paid expense. I traveled very light, especially for a quick trip such as this, so I only had a carry-on and backpack. FLIGHT EXPERIENCE ~Check-in: I checked-in online 24-hours prior (Group 3), had my QR code boarding pass on their app, and traveled with only a carryon and backpack, so I was ready to go! I had Global Entry & TSA PreCheck, so my time with security checkpoints and the necessary TSA pleasantries was efficient and minimal. When it was time, passengers were queued-up in order of their boarding group (i.e. A/B/C). The flight felt like it arrived shortly after it departed. ~Seat(s): 27A Window - Come on, it was the same sardine can like all airplanes these days. Recently, Southwest Airlines started assigning seats, so it was no longer a free-for-all once you boarded the plane. I always favored a window seat towards the back of the plane close to the restroom and snacks. I was lucky enough to almost get exactly that! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=mPgY2GS6Z8NBlgeqkY9tkw ~In-flight Meals (Varied; FREE this instance): I opted for my normal Seagram's Ginger Ale and this time a bag of almonds https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=5-89IYcr8bJRpTt-GoMSwg on Southwest Airlines that I loved. ~Lavatory: I'd done my business at the terminal before we left, so I had no idea of the condition of the restroom closest to me. ~Service & Amenities: All uniformly-dressed flight attendants were adequate and spoke perfect English. None of the seats had video monitors for movie/show watching, music listening, and games playing. The seats themselves were roomy enough. No blankets, headphones, or pillows were provided. The drink/snack cart rolled out shortly after the plane leveled off after takeoff. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located deep into Terminal 2 (specifically near Gates E4-E10) filled with several gates, plenty of reasonably-priced eateries and duty-free shops, and a handful of monitors as you passed them along the way. There were sufficient places to sit in the terminal with plenty of natural and electric lighting. Once on the airplane, it seemed like any other, so nothing really needed to be said or seen here, but I wished I recalled the type of plane since I was nerdy like that! ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. I liked to be unencumbered and unfettered, so the least amount of clothing, especially while I traveled through an airport, the better! OVERALL My one-way non-stop flight on Southwest Airlines out of Honolulu (HNL) was fine and got me to Los Angeles (LAX) safely which truthfully was all that mattered to me on any flights. I wished there were seat video monitors that helped pass the time. In any case, I'd fly and recommend them again. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $253.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

The offer sounded very attractive: sign up for the card and receive 85,000 bonus points after meeting what was described as a relatively small spending requirement. Based on that information, I applied for the card when I got home. About two weeks later, I called customer service to ask about the bonus points. The first representative told me I needed to spend $4,000 to qualify. Later, another representative gave me different information, saying I should wait one or two billing cycles, or two to four weeks, for the points to appear. What makes this especially frustrating is that I previously had a Hawaiian Airlines credit card and membership and never had any issues. Everything was straightforward, and the benefits were delivered as promised. At this point, I'm confused about the requirements and timeline. I hope the bonus points arrive soon, but the information presented on the airplane does not seem to match the information I received afterward from customer service. I'm sharing this experience so others can carefully review the terms and conditions and know exactly what is required before applying.

A week later BKK-MNL on 04/20/24 and return flight MNL-HNL on 04/27/23. All my reviews in Thailand are on my Tripadvisor account. Me and my other half's last time flying on PAL was Precovid Feb 2020. Not only they are The Philippines Flagship Carrier, they are the oldest airline in Asia. Although they can get you to major destinations across Asia and all ASEAN countries, they aren't in Alliance with other major airline carriers. Booking online was easy. Upon waking up that morning prior to departure, I noticed the flight was delayed by 1 1/2 hours. Which gave ample time to make our way to the airport to grab a bite and coffee before boarding the plane. Online check-in was successful, with 3 hours check-in time, it was sufficient. Having Global Entry membership allows you to expedite security via TSA Precheck only in Honolulu and other US Airports. I must say, that the ground staff from check-in to boarding were efficient and friendly. One piece of information I failed to pack was my Vaccination card or take a photo of both front and back of the card. My fault, I assumed restrictions were lowered and didn't do my proper research prior to the flight. The customer service agent just checked me in and I had the choice of heading back home to pick up my vax card, or chance myself when entering The Philippines without proof of vaccination. Thailand dropped all restrictions from our previous visit Fall of last year. As a foreign traveler entering The Philippines, you're required to complete your eTravel registration to declare proof of vaccination, similar to when entering Japan when proof of vaccination was required. When complete, the website will issue a QR Code prior to entering the country. Service onboard was excellent. Available onboard entertainment on each seat back screens. Being seated in Economy Class, I noticed both lunch and dinner meals includes silverware. For long-haul flights, I'm content. Between Honolulu and Manila, onboard amenities were a pillow & blanket, toothbrush, earphones, two complimentary meals including a mid flight snack, alcohol including red or white wine, beer and other nonalcoholic beverages. Between Manila and Bangkok, it was almost the same. No amenity's were provided on a A321 and each seat back had no inflight screen monitors. But there was a dinner served on the flight going to BKK. Lunch on the return, and free inflight entertainment on each seatback furnished by an A330-300 aircraft. PAL occupies Terminals 1&2 at Manila International Airport(NAIA). When transferring between terminals, it was a bit of organized chaos. What the customer service agent in Honolulu advised us that our checked luggages would automatically transfer between MNL & BKK. Both us and a Thai passenger didn't have faith that our bags would make it through to our final destination. We all had to double check over and over. There was an airport transfer that would shuttle passengers from T1 to T2 without leaving the airport premises. You're escorted by a ticket agent to bypass immigration and customs, and it's required you pass through another security screening as if you are entering an airport for the first time, very similar to making a transit at Incheon Airport. It's not an huge airport like Haneda Airport, but every single person onboard and in NAIA are English friendly, and the most helpful and friendliest airline personnel I've ever come across! Maybe in the future if booked in Business Class, I'd update my review for later.

She sent me her itinerary and I booked online (through CheapOair) the exact same trip that she did. We weren't able to sit next to each other because we checked in separately, but when we reached Manila, we changed our seats to sit together for the second leg of our trip. Service was very professional and friendly. Staff were polite and helpful. I asked for a can of Coke twice (instead of getting a cup) and they gave it to me - with a cup of ice - no problem! I was really happy with all of the free stuff! Besides 2 meals (choice of Western or Filipino) and a snack of ham and cheese sandwich, we got free headphones, movies (I watched (About Time), television shows (finally saw Fresh Off The Boat), music (I listened to Kenny Loggins), house slippers, and a pouch filled with eye mask, socks, and toothbrush/toothpaste. Wow! The air conditioning on the plane was great! I used my jacket and even put their thin blanket on my lap and used the pillow on my back. Overall, we had a great experience and I look forward to flying Philippine Airlines again!

The crew was attentive, the aircraft was comfortable, and the overall experience immediately relieved a lot of the stress from the earlier disruptions. From LAX, we switched back to Delta for the next leg to Honolulu. Delta went above and beyond to make the delay easier on us: * Overnight hotel accommodations provided * Food vouchers covered meals * Uber transportation to and from the airport was arranged Those extra steps made a huge difference and showed a real commitment to customer care. What started as a frustrating travel day truly turned into a reminder of how great airline service can be when teams go the extra mile. I worked incredibly hard to bring my family to Hawaii, and I am extremely disappointed that so much of our time at Hilton Hawaiian Village was spent dealing with problems that should never have become our responsibility. Over three nights, we experienced two separate water leaks and repeated hot-water issues. These weren't minor inconveniences--they significantly disrupted our family vacation. The worst night, I slept approximately two hours. With water leaking into our room, I chose to stay awake and deal with the situation myself because I didn't want maintenance repeatedly coming into the room and waking my 1-year-old and 3-year-old children. Instead of resting and enjoying the next day with my family, I was exhausted because I had essentially spent the night protecting my children's sleep while dealing with the hotel's maintenance problem. That is unacceptable at a resort of this caliber. Management eventually provided compensation, and I appreciate that they acknowledged the situation. However, I absolutely do not believe the compensation matched the severity of what we experienced. I didn't work all year and spend thousands of dollars bringing my family to Hawaii to spend a significant portion of our vacation calling guest services, dealing with leaks, worrying about hot water, and effectively helping manage Hilton's property. Money can be refunded. Vacation time with my children cannot. For the price and reputation of this resort, our experience fell dramatically below what any family should reasonably expect.

There is quite a distance from the gates to baggage check. With the storm being fully active when we landed (late due to delay) with part of the airport passage ways being open air, there was flooding in certain areas between the gates and baggage claim. Our baggage came down rather quickly and we were greeted with Leis & a shuttle to our hotel. Though some of the areas were wet and flooded, this airport is really well run. Even upon our return to head back to the mainland, TSA lines were not outrageous and fairly quick to get through security. One thing we did notice when flying out of this airport was that all carry on baggage must go through an additional xray machine right before boarding, this is an agriculture check - which takes boarding the plane take slightly longer than other airports. Even with the added step getting through the airport was a breeze.

I have traveled across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. I have flown to more countries than I can count. I've gone through airports with insecure systems, airports where absolutely zero English was spoken, and somehow still managed to check my bags and get my items where they needed to go. This is not a personal opinion. This is a fact based on experience. Hawaiian Airlines is the most disorganized airline I have ever seen in my life, and honestly, I could see them going out of business. As you can see from the pictures, there is absolutely nobody assisting customers. I don't know if they are short-staffed because they refuse to hire people or refuse to pay decent wages, but nobody is there to help because the employees themselves appear overwhelmed with responsibility. Secondly, you have to wait in a completely separate line just to get your bags tagged. If the system fails and doesn't allow you to check in properly, you have to restart the entire process from the beginning. Then, after finally tagging your bags, there is another completely separate line just to drop the bags off. If something goes wrong again, you are sent all the way back to the beginning. It makes absolutely no sense. You know the system where you get your bag tag and boarding pass, then drop your bags? The system used by 99.9% of airlines? I assume Hawaiian Airlines leadership said, "I have an idea. I'm going to make this whole system complicated and confusing for my customers." There are multiple breakdowns in this entire process. You have five employees running back and forth trying to help move bags, but only one main line that splits into two checkpoints for customers trying to check in. Instead of having workers properly stationed at counters assisting customers with bag weighing and bag drop, they have thousands of kiosks with nobody available to help anyone use them. Customers are left standing around trying to figure out broken computer systems that do not scan properly, do not recognize confirmation codes, and constantly fail during check-in. It is a complete mess. I will say this: the flight attendants were very nice, the plane itself was wonderful, and the staff assisting once I finally made it to the front were helpful. But the entire experience beforehand was unnecessarily complicated for absolutely no reason. There are actual classes and professional systems dedicated to organization and customer flow, and Hawaiian Airlines would greatly benefit from them because they are completely failing in this aspect. Lastly, Hawaiian Airlines needs to get its shit together.
