I have been here before and the food was delicious but this time, my food had too much sauce which made it too salty. I came with my grandchildren and their meals had so little food. I wasn't enjoying mine so I shared my food with them. The staff also brought out their ice cream with their meal this time and since we were outside we asked them to bring it to us later. The trendy electronic ordering stations and lack of host make orfering a little bit like throwing darts at a menu -I think I'll get what I want, but I'm not sure. Pretty decent for fast food Hawaiian. Service was pretty good but I only used the drive thru, I did but go inside to check the ambiance. I tried both spicy dishes but neither was particularly hot. I have now been here twice. It's new to Lubbock, and I had no previous experience with Hawaiian Bros. Here's what to expect. There are no workers to take your order. When you walk in, there are 3 touch screen kiosks where you place your order. The screen menus do not have a ton of info about the different menu items. However, there are some small paper menus which are more descriptive. Basically, the meals are some form of teriyaki chicken (spicy or not spicy) on a bed of rice, served with another scoop of rice and a scoop of some type of cold, creamy macaroni. This does not really taste like mac n cheese, rather some type of mayonnaise sauce. Small cup of teriyaki sauce also comes with it. Honestly, it's a LOT of carbs, and a bit of chicken. Most of the chicken dishes taste similar, with a bit of heat or just sweet. You can sub vegetables for either the mac or the rice, but that costs an extra dollar. Vegetables were NOT good. No flavor, and way undercooked. Again, the chicken is pretty good, but there's just a lot of unseasoned carbs there. Price is also quite high. For a regular order (described above), the price ranges from $14-15 per person, depending on if you make any substitutions. For having to order yourself, and all the food is given to you in a styrofoam "to go" container, it just seems expensive. They also have a tip screen that pops up asking you for a tip. I mean, it's basically self service. One other issue was that from the customer area, you can see into the kitchen very well. While waiting for my food, I watched employees eating, drinking, and scratching their head with their prep gloves on. No gloves replaced. All of this going on in the food prep area. Not very reassuring when it comes to an area preparing food for customers to eat. One positive note. Although a small cup is between $4-5, their pineapple freeze is very good. I had Hawaiian Bros for the first time and let me tell you.... Disappointed. I have been through 9 different states and the one thing that never changes is the macaroni salad. Shredded carrots, grated onion, sugar, salt, white pepper. And of course Hellmans Mayo or best foods Mayo, occasionally Bonita flakes. What I had the other day was a soupy macaroni noodle with a sauce that was teeter tottering into the lane of weak Alfredo sauce. That being said I didn't see any of my usual favorites like the chicken or fish katsu, and they even forgot to get me my spam Musubi. Came here for lunch with my girlfriend ordered through their kiosk (so many places nowadays). Our food came out quickly and was accurate. The food tasted great. We both got chicken & rice with macaroni salad. My girlfriend got the smaller portion and I opted for larger. I can say smaller is plenty for those guys who are curious. read more

Huli Huli chicken is great! Easy fast stop for lunch. Will add to my rotation when I'm hungry for that sweet teriyaki flavor.

When we pulled up to the window, I gave them my name, and they had it ready in 30 seconds! Everything was fresh, hot, & tasty! I love the Huli huli chicken, but everything I've gotten is amazing!
