Wow wow wow! This place was AMAZING! My son and I decided to give this place a try on Saturday, October 25, 2015 around 4pm. They weren't very busy and after trying the food I cannot understand why they weren't packed! When you walk in there are kiosks that you order from. I don't mind this at all but I did want to ask about their Kilauea chicken and the spice level since they described it as lava hot. I just went ahead and ordered without inquiring with a real person. No big deal I ordered the Molokai chicken plate and my son got the Honolulu chicken plate. I also got a side of pineapple and my son got a side of spam musubi. The portion size was generous! The chicken was TENDER. The rice was cooked perfectly and the macaroni salad put that Walmart macaroni salad to SHAME! It was delicious! My son who doesn't like macaroni salad completely cleared his plate! He basically inhaled the spam musibi and I'll say the side of fresh pineapple was delicious! I was completely stuffed and there wasn't a crumb left between us. For a franchise it's really excellent and I highly recommend! I will be back soon! When you walk in, they have kiosks where you order your own food The employee that helped us must've seen the panic on my face. She offered to take our orders for us, woo! She ended up being one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and was very patient and helpful as I went through my food allergy questions. I ordered the gluten-free Honolulu with rice and vegetables. The food was pretty tasty. My favorite was the mixed vegetables. They've got a lot of flavor and they were cooked perfectly. The best part was I didn't have a reaction! When is place first open? There was a line around the corner to get in now. No one goes here. I don't know how they keep the doors open. We tried this place three times and all those times something was bad with the food. Now this is my opinion, maybe others have a different opinion on the food but it seems like it's just just pre-cooked chicken doused in sauce. Hate this place with a passion. They make you order on these touchscreens that are unsanitary and full of germs. It's hard to find and understand what items are on the menu because they don't have an actual menu that you can look at. Then they have the audacity to ask for a tip. We stopped into Hawaiian Brothers on a Friday night as we had heard from friends that it was a place we needed to try. We used the iPad ordering system as no one was there to take our order at the front of the restaurant. My mother had a hard time with the ordering system because it's not very straight forward. I think Hawaiian Bros needs to figure out a more user friendly system - the different options were confusing especially when deciding what sides you want with your meal. The food came out fast and we were very pleased with all our dishes! We enjoyed the Huli Huli Chicken, Honolulu Chicken, and Molokai Chicken at our table. Although food was good, I am docking two stars because of the service we received. At the end of our meal I ordered some Dole soft serve for myself and my family. The staff let me pay for it and then proceeded to tell me halfway through that they ran out of the flavor I wanted. Instead of saying "sorry" or offering a solution she just said "I tried" and blankly stared at me. She then eventually tried again and was able to get some of the dole whip I wanted out of the machine. I totally understand running out of the dole whip (it's popular) but was so underwhelmed by the customer service during the duration of our visit. Staff also couldn't answer many questions during our ordering process. Hopefully as the staff becomes more trained this won't be an issue anymore! The food was so good, it took me back to 2004 and our trip to Hawaii. The Dole Whip tasted just like the one we got at the Dole plantation on Oahu and the Huli Huli Chicken brought some favorite memories from Kauai. Went here with my son today. First time at a Hawaiian Bros. We wound up trying the HuliHuli (Teriyaki), the Honolulu (sesame), and a Kilauea (Spicy BBQ is what I would equate it.). We both liked the Huli and the Honululu. Neither of us cared for the Lilauea. The side of pineapple was only 4 small slices. But it was amazing pineapple. For size it should not be a extra cost. We saw reviews on this place from Piso's food review page and decided to make the drive from south Tulsa to Owasso. We usually don't go outside of Tula restaurants but I am so glad we did today! This place was very good! I got the salad and thought the dressing was very good! You can get extra dressing at no cost so I did and now have extra to use for another salad at home! My boyfriend for the two mixed meats and choose the pork and Honolulu chicken. The chicken was good but the pork was really really good! It came with white rice and macaroni. The macaroni was on the cold side which I'm guessing it was supposed to be. We thought it tastes good despite all the reviews I've seen that say it was bland. The white rice was just plain white rice. I think they need to change it up and make garlic rice like all the shrimp trucks in Hawaii serve! I wanted to try the dole whip ice cream but we were stuffed! Please bring one to South Tulsa!! The Menu is simple, and you select your options from the touch screens in the lobby (sort of QT Kitchen style). They bring the food to you. Think "plate Lunch" with several side options; Macaroni, Pineapple, Rice, Veggies and one of my favorites, Spam Musubi (don't knock it, 'til you try it!). They also have Dole soft-serve for dessert. Yay, more Hawaiian food options near Tulsa. It was really busy during lunch time. We had to wait a little while to get a parking spot. You order from the screen when you enter. We ordered two large mixed plates (three different types of chicken and a pork dish) to share between the three of us. Everything tasted great. One of the chicken was very oily. So I got to try the broken arrow location today! A super nice man stopped by and offered some free lunch since they were opening down the street. I'll be honest, I've seen some so so reviews about this place and I looked forward to trying it but it wasn't a priority. Well, I am amazed at how tasty it is. We were given the Honolulu and Molokai chicken meals. They came with white rice and macaroni salad. I usually don't like pasta salads but this one was so tasty. I know I really like a place when I can take all the ingredients and mix them together and it makes a wonderful savory melt in my mouth taste. I have not been able to officially go to a Hawaiian bros establishment yet, but when the ba one opens, I will definitely have a new top 5 option to grab lunch on my work break. Kilauea chicken and Luau Pig was my choice and will order many more times. The spam masubi has seaweed so you will get a hint of the ocean, but don't be scared because it is very tasty and it will be your go to side. The Mac salad is different but a unique taste. I have to admit Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is a welcome flavorful divergence from the fried wings, fingers, strips, filets and nasty nuggets, offered at every fast-food chain and gas station with a fryer. The Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is an enormous building (for a fast-food joint), attractively theme decorated inside and out. They must be thinking that they will sell chicken, at a volume comparable to Taylor Swift concert tickets. They have a large parking lot. A to-go order pick up window and two drive through lanes. They might do well in their location. When school starts, I bet the sweet sticky chicken will draw a crowd. The kids will love 'em. The standard meal comes with two very bland sides: plain white rice and equally tasteless macaroni. I ordered a small Kilauea chicken, no rice, a side of steamed vegetables, pineapple and a Spam Musubi. (Who doesn't like Spam!). The meal came with the macaroni. The vegetables, well okay, not as attractive on the tray as in the picture, but a better tasting option than plain white rice. The Kilauea chicken was a good portion for a small, basically a slightly spicy version of the Hui Hui. The fresh pineapple goes well with the meal, delicious. A fork full of macaroni with a chunk of Kilauea chicken blended nicely, improving the macaroni. It was a fairly good meal. The best though was the Spam Musubi. I got a small packet of the Pineapple BBQ sauce from the server. On the Spam Musubi it is the bomb. I could make a meal of a couple or three of these alone. The Pineapple BBQ sauce would have to be good on the restaurant's roast pork. Future visit. I think the novelty of the new chicken will go well for a while, but the limited bland sides will soon become monotonous to the Okie palete, that is tuned to burgers and migrating more and more to Mexican food. We decided to try something new after church today, and being fans of tropical stuff, we thought we'd run to Owasso to sample some goodies. The restaurant itself is clean and cute... We got there right as they opened, and it was almost instantly packed. You order at a self-serve computer, or in an app. Signing up for an account online currently gives you a coupon for a free dole whipped ice cream. We ordered a Hulu Hulu chicken, 2 Molokai Chickens, Kilauea Chicken, Spam Musubi, and tropical drinks. We went back for 2 of the dole blended desserts. Our family of 4 left after spending roughly $75. It's not cheap, but we were sampling more than we would probably order regularly. The food was really good. Each lunch comes with your meat on top of white rice, white rice on the side, and macaroni salad. You can pay extra to sub veggies or pineapple in place of macaroni salad. There are salads on the menu, and options to make your food lower carb, but they cost more. I wish veggies as a side was standard since white rice shows up 2x on each plate. Regarding service, everyone was hustling and efficient. After you order, you sit, and they bring your food out quickly. Everyone seemed nice. They accidentally forgot the chicken on my salad (kind of understandable... they were super busy and we all make mistakes...) and when I went back, they were so very sweet to me despite my frustration. This place has the fastest drive thru on the planet! Here's what I mean. You drive up to the menu and order what you want. Then you drive up to the window to pay. Before you even get your card back, your food is already packaged and bagged. How's this possible? How do you order a mix plate and 30 seconds later, it's ready before you even pay? What's every other fast food restaurant's excuse? You get what you ordered, every time. And the food is delicious, every time! And the service is warm and friendly, EVERY TIME!!! Ordering inside is performed by customers ordering via kiosks. The staff were very nice and helpful. This was our first visit to this restaurant in Owasso. The music is a bit loud for normal conversation. The parking spaces are a bit small for larger vehicles. The chairs at the tables have student sized seats. All food is served in to go containers. The plastic forks were self serve from a dispenser with a cover making them sanitary but a bit difficult for individuals with arthritis to remove the cover. Chopsticks in a cover were also an option. Vegetarians will find some food options but limited. The seasoned vegetable entree is served on a bed of plain rice. The seasoned vegetables included a lot of red onions. When ordering from the kiosk we didn't see a way to adjust ingredients but this may have been because we are not familiar with the kiosk system. We did see a way to order a bottle of water with a meal but didn't see a way to get a cup for ice water but at the cashier stage we were helped to be able to get a cup for ice water. We also didn't see an option at the kiosk to order tea even though we could see it is available. The rice side is plain white rice which is as expected. The white rice tasted fresh and moist not overly dry like some places. The vegetables were also good. A side of pineapple is very small but tasted like fresh pineapple and was very flavorful. The side of macaroni salad was very bland. The Teriyaki sauce was very good but difficult to open for individuals with arthritis. The sweet tea was average. I can't add anything about the meat options as we didn't order any of the meat entrees. read more
